Contour Cutting using Roland Versaworks

I am a new user and we are looking to adapt Affinity Designer for Mac as the go-to app for our commercial sign business. Currently using Adobe Illustrator, we are able to create a stroke spot color and name it "CutContour" or "CutPath" and Roland Versaworks will recognize it as a cut line for our Roland VG-540 wide format printer/cutter. We export the file from Illustrator as an EPS and send it to the printer. We've attempted these same steps in Affinity, but so far, no success. Do you know of any way we can get this to work?
