Hi,
I am using AP 2.2.1 on MacOS Ventura 13.6.2. As I am working on an important book, I am somewhat hesitant to upgrade to latest release. Since a few days I have an issue applying Masters to the pages. (I didn't have them earlier). When I want to apply a new master to a set of pages, it is incorporating the data into the new page but making text box on the page.
I am attaching 2 screenshots so you can see what I mean.
The masters are clean and only have the text / frame block on there which are important to the page. So I have not disabled certain frames or text boxes.
As mentioned, I did not have this issue a few days back when I was editing the other paragraphs.
I am working with many masters as the book is colour coded so I have to make sure that that correct pages are applied to the different chapters.

hi all,
I am on MAX OS Monterey (Latest) + M1 pro ( I can not upgrade MAC OS due to some other apps I use, until they are supporting the latest MACOS release)
I need to reinstall Affinity Photo every now and then. One day it works the other day it starts but it is not displaying the canvas. After reinstalling it works, but this is not really workable. I need to redo all the changes I made etc.
What can be the cause? Anyone experiencing this?

Hi,
I did some more research on the shortcut issue. All selection brushes work with the shortcuts. All painting brushes don't.
I also checked this under Affinity 1.10.6 - all brushes work with the assigned shortcuts.
I am guessing that their is a slight bug in the affinity 2.1.1
Any comments or tips welcome.

I am on Affinity Photo 2.1.1. and am experience issues with the shortcuts for resizing the brushes. As I am on a German keyboard and have no brackets on my keys. I have reassigned the shortcuts to Option A (decrease) Option S (increase). when I use the shortcuts nothing happens.
I have these shortcuts across the affinity suite. In A Designer they work (2.1.1) just perfect.
I am on MacOS - 12.6.5 M1 Chip.
It there a known bug ?

Thank you. It works again 🙂 Not sure how this was switched off... I was not in the Grid and Axis menu 🙂 But anyway....it is fine now.

I have duplicated the file and deleted all Layers. Here is the result.

No matter where I now use the pen tool in the Layer stack its behaviour is as described.

here are the settings.
I have not changed any snapping settings one the cause of the creation of this document. It contains many layers.

I have too much confidential information in the Document. Did you see that video recording I attached?
If I need to upload the document then only under STRICT CONFIDENTIALITY.

I have the same issue with the Node tool.
In the meantime I have created a new document and here the Pen Tool works as it should be. No issues.
So it must be a document related issue. Weird,

I am on the latest Designer release on MAC OS. I have an issue with the PEN tool. When I press Shift to constraint a line, I only can make a 45° line. A straight horizontal line is not possible. When I am on the second node I can make a few angled option and a vertical one.
Horizontal line is not possible. Yesterday it still worked!
Perhaps I have pressed something but the toolbar looks clean...no convert or actions selected.
Any Ideas of what this could be?

Thank you guys. I have removed all Affinity apps from my system and reinstalled all apps with release 2.04. The apps open now and I can open the documents again. I am sure that the there is Bug in the affinity update files from Serif.
it is somewhat sad that Serif does not respond to a rather important issue.
The QA testing at Serif needs to better in terms of releasing maintenance releases.

Thank you Mike. The document is not even opening. It is a single TIFF image what I am trying to open. I have tried to open the file from the Finder or direct from the File Menu.

Hi guys,
unfortunately I updated to Affinity 2.0.4 last Sunday.... a mistake? All apps are hanging on Mac OS Monterey 12.6.2. Version 2.0..was stable. How can I roll back or what to do? I am unable to use the apps.

This is very kind of you Afred! Thank you. I am getting more and more acquainted with AD and AF. As corona is effecting my main business dramatically (I am landscape photographer guiding Northern Lights tours in Northern Norway) I need to adapt to the current situation an find new opportunity to compensate the loss of income 😞 Time will tell how all is developing.

@Focus9, note that Symbols & Assets are two different things. Symbols are document-specific, although you should be able to save a document including symbols as a custom template & use that as a starting point for new work.
For example, this very simple symbol test.aftemplate file includes a single symbol named "Grn Rectangle" in the Symbols panel.
Is something like this not working for you?

Hello all,
perhaps I am getting old, but where can I find the standard / default Icons/Symbols in Designer? I thought they were in Assets. I created a few symbols a few months back and used the standard "templates" for this. Now it seems they are gone. I mean the icons, like Telescope, Camera shutter etc.
Is Unsplash removed from the affinity apps as well?

Today I installed Affinity 1.9 When I want to add a layer and double click on it, the content window doesn't open. To open it you need to select one of the presets.
Is it possibly to add the "double click" function again? I checked this function whether it works in other apps like apple finder, etc. It works.

I will hold off for the moment to upload the document. I just did another test applying masters to the pages. How weird this sounds... it is working. I hope it stays this way.
