  1. Using v1.0.17644 How do I import a PDF? I have tried opening one from Affinity Open menu but PDF files are greyed out. I have tried selecting one in Finder and selecting Affinity as the program to open it with, but Affinity is greyed out. I have tried dragging a PDF into the page but the error message tells me this file type is not supported. I have looked in the help file for 'import pdf' but it just gives a list of file types for import/export but no hint as how to do it. And I have searched this forum for 'import pdf' but it drops the 'pdf' part and I get a load of results for 'import' and have not yet found the answer. So, I am feeling really dumb and expect someone to tell me that there is a button the size of a football filed which says IMPORT PDF...
  2. I have used Serif DrawPlus and WebPlus for many years. I jumped ship from Windows after finally getting sick of the constant geek-tweaking required to keep it running. Life is about compromises and switching to Mac is one of them. Mac works as well as a it does because it makes it hard to get under the bonnet (hood US) but then again you don't really need to if you just want to use programs and not mess with the machine. It also speak English most of the time, albeit with an American accent, whereas Windows speaks a language developed by people who have 'communication with end users' at the bottom of their priority list. It has been a pain having to have Windows running under Parallels so I can use Draw and Web Plus. Thanks to Affinity there is light at the end of the tunnel. One of the best things about Serif is their Nottingham-based support. These guys are good and patient and have helped me in so many ways. Having English as a first language is not just about clarity, but being able to talk naturally to people. I have had many conversations about things not directly related to the application with the support team. It really helps build brand loyalty. (Marketing Dept pls note) All of this leaves me with two questions: 1. Are there plans to put Web Plus on the Mac so I can finally ditch Windows? 2. Is Affinity going to be supported by the Nottingham team in the same way as the current Serif catalog? Meanwhile, looking forward to trying out Affinity on a real project (not just playing with it) as this is where the glitches show up. Cheers. RPJ
  3. Thanks Tony. Looks like I will have to keep a copy of Windows for a while longer - or start over with all my drawings.
  4. A question I have not seen raised yet concerns importing the vast number of DPP files I have made on Serif DrawPlus. Are there plans to enable users to import DPP files from SD without having to open Serif Draw and save the DPPs as SVG files first?
  5. The lack of Serif Draw on OSX held me back from migrating to Mac for a long time. The Mac changed to the Intel chip and made partitioning easy with Parallels and I could run Windows on the Mac so I went with it. But it is far from a perfect solution. I have not used Affinity very much yet, but I hope it is Serif Draw (and more) from the Mac. Well done guys - it's what I have been waiting for. A big question I have not seen raised yet concerns importing the vast number of DPP files I have made on Serif Draw. Are there plans to eneable users to import DPP files from SD without having to open Serif Draw and save the DPPs as SVG files first?
