I'll bet on constraints. This bug is consistent and it's around for quite a while. If that's the case, the workaround would be to select all objects and set them to the default  x/y scale in the Constraints panel.

    Status: Customer Beta
    Purpose: New features
Requirements: A valid product key, issued when Windows Affinity Photo version 1.5 was purchased.

This is a beta of a substantial change to our codebase and as much as we have tried to ensure the quality of the code, it is considered to be not suitable for production use. This means that you should not attempt to use it for commercial purposes or for any other activity that you may be adversely affected by the application failing. In addition it is definitely worth noting that files created in Affinity 1.6 may not open in 1.5 so always make a copy of your important documents before opening them in 1.6 to ensure you do not accidentally overwrite them and are unable to open them in your 1.5 version.

We hope you enjoy the latest build, and as always, if you've got any problems, please don't hesitate to post here and we'll get back to you as soon as we can. Thanks once again for your continued feedback.

If you have a general question about the software, please head over to the Questions Forum, or if you have any suggestions, please head over to the Feature Requests forum.

It looks like this was reported for the Mac too so we should get this fixed pretty soon. Sorry about that!

    Hey folks,

Been a wee while but I'm back at creating creatures with Affinity Designer (and paper & pencil). Instead of adding a new topic for every one I make, I thought I'd start this new thread to put them all in and show them off to you all.

So here's one for ya! :)

Affinity Designer vector illustration of my daughter at 19-days old.

No pixels or vector brushes used here, just good old fashioned strokes and filled paths. Masks, transparency tool, layer FX and blend modes used where needed and a couple of adjustment layers to tweak the colours at the end.

I'd guess there's around 2,000 elements make up this image - around 500 are individually positioned head hairs, and many of the individual wool strands are actually three strokes twisted together too which ups the object count. With all the blurs and depth of field stuff, it nearly kills my MacBook and takes a good 20+ seconds for the screen to redraw after every zoom or edit on high quality view settings - spent a lot of time in wireframe and low quality mode at the end. When I get a faster Mac, I'd like to add some of the less important detail that's missing to make it more convincing  (e.g. the almost invisible eyebrow hairs, more detail to eyes etc.) and tweak some of the bits that are annoying me.

No idea how long it took as I've been working on it on and off in my spare time (which is practically non-existent with a baby) since December - I'd estimate 30-50 hours.

    Anyway, hope you like it!

New work. This started out as just the head and it grew. I used this one to play with text -I just loved the way I could get right in and adjust the scripty word, 'Tae' until I was happy.
Vector plus textures and a little work in Pixel mode. Anyway, I hope you like it. And do go to Scotland to see the famous 'Tobermory Floaties'.

Burny reacted to Tupaia in Brush strokes - first point size glitch
    Hello!
When drawing with the Pencil or Vector brush tool, there's a glitch in the size of the strokes's first point. See screenshot.
Unfortunately, that makes it practically unusable for my job at hand.
    AD 1.6.0.80b
Using a Wacom Cintiq, and a Wacom Intuos 3. Same problem on both.
Deleting the first point does not help. The size information is just moved to the next point.

The latest stable, 1.5.3.69, has no stabilizer yet, and the stoke thickness changes strangely after lifting the pen. Can't use it, either.

    Thanks!

Unless an issue you are encountering is directly related to running the application could we ask that you report each issue as a separate post in the Windows Beta forums please. It prevents this thread from getting too busy and helps us manage your issue better.

    Thanks.

    Hi Burny,

Thanks for that! I'll look at fixing this in the future, but right now you can get your shapes to reappear by just selecting them and choosing Layer->Fill Mode->Winding. There's actually an error in the 'Add' function that I need to fix, but just choosing 'Winding' as the fill mode will give you usable results for the moment...

    Sorry about that,

Hi all, here are a couple of recent fun designs for my Redbubble store. Created in Designer 1.6 b4.

I wanted to try something different with a mostly all line line style for a slightly more sophisticated look for products and clothing. The new lock and hide features really came in handy on this piece.

If you're a Vespa or Lambretta fan you'll notice that the logos aren't exactly accurate. To avoid treading on any copyright issues I recreated and designed my own similar versions from scratch for these. Another aspect made easy in Designer. :-)

I've been trying to think of ways to make use of the mad zoom in affinity and I thought a great way to demonstrate it would be to show a person standing on the earth, at the correct scale. So I did. Then I made a fake flat Earth video, because giggles. There may be some naughty words and I must warn you all, the rest of my youtube channel is very silly and quite offensive.

Hi. Looong time Photoshop user here, my first PS came on floppy's. I still use Adobe professionally at work but I wanted a cheaper photo editor at home. An alternative who isn't bogged down with options I never use / touch. So Affinity it was! Black and white colorization was on my bucket list for a long time. So I used it to learn Affinity Photo. Learning new techniques along with new software is generally not a good idea. But AP passed on all fronts. I like it so much I even use it as my personal photo editor.

Im loving this app for painting on weekends as I use Photoshop on a daily basis for my work as a concept artist/matte painter for film and TV.
Im still getting the hang of it but it's fun.
