If you have a general question about the software, please head over to the Questions Forum, or if you have any suggestions, please head over to the Feature Requests forum.
Fixes
Fixed crash in UI with HUION or Gaomon tablets
Note: Surface Pro users will now need to opt-in to the new option which will prevent the user interface from being unresponsive. You can find the option in Preferences | User Interface | Enable Pointer Support. Unfortunately when we enabled this option by default, HUION and Gaomon drivers caused crashes within Microsoft's WPF / .NET Framework.

Mac App Store: Submitted
Download: Download from Here
To use this beta, simply download the file from the link given above and double-click on the file to open the installer. Follow the instructions to install the beta version. The beta sits alongside the Mac App Store version and will not interfere with it.

Fixed crashing bug when exporting certain large PSDs. Fixed a number of UI memory leaks. Added special case PSD import code for “SketchClub” PSD files (they should fix this!). Fixed PSD export of Fill layers. Fixed UI labels on macOS versions prior to Mavericks. SVG import can now handle gradients with missing x1 or y1 values. Assorted PDF export improvements. Burny reacted to VectorVonDoom in The Image I’m Submitting For 1.6 Promo, VW Golf GTI 1.6 (AD)
I was going to do this drawing in Illustrator but read about Serif/Affinity wanting images for their 1.6 promo material so thought I’d give AD a try for the first time. This will be my submission and it so happens the GTI had a 1.6 engine early on.
Hopefully any Golf aficionado will recognise it as an imaginary custom series 1 Mk1 Golf GTI (1.6l 8v) in Miami blue. It’s been de-wipered, lowered, smoked lights, chrome bumpers, no arches and some really nice alloys you can’t see! I couldn’t decide on the colour, either Mars red or Miami blue. Obviously went with blue but the body just uses a single global colour so easy to change my mind later.
All in all it went fairly smoothly, if you know Illustrator you pretty much know AD. Some things I really liked, one thing I really didn’t (I’m looking at you layers palette). Overall it was fun and good practice. Never used so many gaussian blurs before.
As it's bank holiday weekend I've a little time to go back to it and tweak it if I decide I need to.

Burny reacted to Henry Stahle in #affinityphotoillustration
So far... nine illustrations made using Affinity Photo (and a little Designer). They are to be found on my Instagram (henrystahle) and I am using #affinityphotoillustration to show they are basicly all bitmap illustrations. The latest are from my recent project, an interactive app for Android and iOS. Me as an illustrator + a coder (LUA + Corona) that also animates and such. In Affinity I can use the slicing function for exporting, that is a big thing, it makes the work work, and easy exporting... Happy for that.

Burny reacted to Henry Stahle in #affinityphotoillustration
Hi, I just started a new hashtag on Instagram: #affinityphotoillustration. I decided to do that because I am working on a picture book / app starting to use Affinity Photo instead of Photoshop. I will show some of my illustrations, all bitmap, no vectors, done in AP. It would be nice to see more illustrators using AP presenting art under the same #affinityphotoillustration tag. To get to now about you, to learn how you use this software and to get inspired from each other. See you on Instagram!

Burny reacted to VectorVonDoom in Playing with polygons, Grant Wood American Gothic 1930
It's nothing clever and the polygon fad might have passed but it was fun to do. Most use a very low polygon count and just something like a face but I like to make it more complicated for myself, not necessarily better though. I had already done a version but wasn't happy with it so this is my new attempt.
A tip is to duplicate the layer(s) and perhaps add a tiny bit of blur to the background copy. That fills in the minute gaps between the shapes and the output's much nicer.
Click on it then click "full size" and it's not so blurry.

Burny reacted to TonyB in Affinity Publisher - Sneak Preview
Affinity Publisher sneak peek! Just to prove we're not making the whole thing up, check out this early build of our DTP app. Still lots of perfecting to do; expect the beta next summer. Enjoy.
Update: I think we have answered all the questions we can about Publisher before the beta starts. Hopefully the public beta will answer any remaining questions when it starts at the end of August.
This thread is now locked.

Burny reacted to Ash in Affinity Photo for iPad wins App of the Year 2017!
Hi All,
We're over the moon to announce that Apple have selected Affinity Photo for iPad as their App of the Year 2017!
We weren’t really sure this year could have got any better. From our big launch on stage at WWDC in June, to all the amazing reviews and feedback we’ve had from many of you – we’ve been totally blown away by the response our app has had. It's important to say that to create an app like this has only been possible with all your support. Not just help with the beta and development of the app itself, but in making Affinity such a success over the last few years to enable us to invest in the development of a big project like this.
If you haven't yet got the iPad version of Affinity Photo we are running a flash sale, just for the next 48 hours, to get it with a 50% discount. We can't imagine running such a big discount again for a very long time(!) so don't miss out on that. More info on our iPad page here.
Also we'd love you to help spread the word about this for us. It's been a while since we've done a competition like this, so if you:
Like our Facebook page and share or comment on this post
or
Follow us on Twitter and retweet this tweet
You'll be entered into a free draw to win a 12.9" iPad Pro! The closing date is 12pm GMT on Saturday (when the flash sale ends), and we'll announce the winner on this thread.
But more than anything, thanks again for all your continued support.
Ash
Edit by Patrick.
The Winner of the iPad (mentioned in this post) is in a reply to this thread here
