  1. Thanks again. From what you describe, it sounds very close to Free Transform. I'll play with it and see what it does.
  2. Test done, and pretty much everything you gave me worked quite well as a replacement for CS6 Just a matter of learning the different ways of doing things. One more feature that I use a lot in Photoshop is the "Free Transform" function. Does AP have anything similar?
  3. Thank you very much smadell. You have answered my questions very thoroughly. I will look into that Inpainting Brush. In CS6 I fairly often use the lasso tool to define an area and then "refine edge" to apply something like content aware, guassian blur, etc. I assume from what you have said that AP does not have the ability to define a random area and then automatically replace it. Does it have its own version of "refine edge". I followed the instructions to install my Topaz Plugins, but for some reason they are not showing up. I'll go back and try a third time. Thanks again.
  4. Hmmm . . . . . by the time a post gets approved it is already on the second page!! So I guess it has moved too far along to get any responses. It is pretty sad if a newcomer to AP can't get help at the hosted forums. Without initial help with questions, where is the incentive to move over to using AP? Guess I will try to get help from the few AP users over at NatureScapes, or give in and give Adobe my money.
  5. I have been a Photoshop user for many many years and currently using CS6. Since I recently bought a D500 and I do not want to give Adobe anymore of my money by going to their monthly subscription for CC, I am looking at other options. I downloaded the trial today for Affinity Photo, and I must say I am surprised how much this program can do. Anyway, before I can determine if Affinity Photo will do it for me, here are my first questions about the program 1) Can Affinity run Actions like Photoshop does? I have been unable to find it. 2) I followed the process to get my Topaz Plugins into Affinity, but they are not being recognized and not showing up under the Plugins section. Any ideas why they are not showing up? 3) In CS6 I used the Spot Healing Brush Tool, which appears to be the Blemish Removal Tool in Affinity. In Photoshop you have some refinements for this tool, one being how hard the edge is. You have to make it 100% hard to work for my needs and it works very well. The Blemish Removal Tool is not working well, as it is leaving a cloudy clone instead of a seamless clone. Are there no refinements for this tool? Is it not possible to make it apply clean clones like CS6 does? 4) Lastly, does Affinity have anything like the CS6 Content Aware Tool? Much appreciated Tim
