  1. Check that the automatically hide UI setting is not turned on under preferences
  2. Mine does not do that perhaps you have changed the default brush on the eraser or paint brush, look under “more” on the context toolbar for each tool. If you can do a screen recording of the problem you’re seeing someone might be able to help.
  3. I agree with Walt, the most obvious difference between Designer and Photo is vector painting is default for Designer and pixel painting is default for Photo.
  4. You should download the HP Smart printer app, and print via that rather than the the print option in Affinity as that gives you lots of options on how it will appear on the page.
  5. Select all layers and ensure “scale with object” selected in the advanced section of the stroke studio.
  6. You can use the Layer FX to give a Gaussian Blur, you need to click on the Gaussian Blur tool for the context menu with radius to appear at the bottom of the screen.
  7. I would highly recommend purchasing Designer as well as it is such good value on the iPad for all the other features it offers but in the meantime download Mud’s Macro.afmacros file in safari to the iCloud Downloads folder then Import the into AP on your iPad from the iCloud Downloads folder. Use TextOnCurve macro. https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/93161-mud’s-macros-expand-stroke/&tab=comments#comment-494839
  8. Here is one method, there are others:- 1. Crop photo as desired and select rasterise and trim. 2. Turn snapping on 3. Draw a rectangle exactly over your cropped photo. 4. Go to transform studio, make sure the Width and height padlock is locked 5. Make sure the anchor is selected as the centre dot 6. Click on width and type “x1.1” and then ok 7. In layers studio drag rectangle to the bottom of the layer stack. IMG_4183.MP4
  9. If you embed Affinity Design files (.afdesign or .afphoto) within AD using “Place image” they will appear in layers studio as embedded documents then double tapping will open that embedded file. IMG_4174.MP4
  10. Using same method as Dave mentioned above, automatically clipping to a layer, you will see the message appear as I scribble. Any layers locked won’t be affected by any edits. There are other methods as well. See Selective Colour in the help also the use of selections which can also restrict edits. IMG_4171.MP4
  11. If all you used your iPad for was Designer then 64GB would be ok, however once you have an iPad and you start to realise all the other things you can do with it, you will start to wish you’d paid that bit extra in my experience.
  12. Look for my Mud’s Macros V3.afmacros pack on those forums, they include TextOnCurve macro which provides this Affinity Designer feature.
  13. Hi Jay, might be helpful to upload your .afphoto file here for others to test. BR Paul.
  14. You should never need to do this. To show the context toolbar at the bottom of the screen simply double tap the relevant mask layer. Other than the context toolbars everything on the iPad is fixed.
  15. The file format for designer or photo are identical so you can easily transfer your work between packages to achieve what you want. Another alternative is to use the Live Filter asset pack for designer, see this thread which provides access to some of the filters you have requested.
  16. Use save a copy to iCloud Drive with save history turned on in .afphoto format, login to www.icloud.com and download from there to edit on PC is one of many ways to do this. All settings are stored in the .afphoto file.
  17. It’s a no brainer, it’s so cheap but amazingly powerful assuming the iPad meets Affinity minimum specifications they have nothing to lose !! Best with Apple Pencil too, they will not regret and will be thanking you for ages to come !
  18. Yes, you can use the IOS files app to create a folder structure in iCloud or Dropbox or On My iPad as you would on a PC or MAC. I use iCloud as I can then access my files on my MAC or on my PC version and continue working from there. Use Save a copy under the documents menu and give your file a name and save it to a location.
  19. Very strange, never seen that behaviour before and sorry don’t really have a solution you can work with. As a comment I wouldn’t use the internal affinity sandbox to store so many temporary files, I would recommend you save them outside of affinity in a folder structure you have created yourself because if you ever had to delete the app and re-install it to fix such a problem you would lose all those temporary files.
  20. Might be useful to provide an example of your problem either photo or afphoto file or possibly a screen recording of the problem you are seeing.
  21. https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/60077-perspective-correction-tool-missing-in-ipad-version/&do=findComment&comment=537947
  22. Didn’t even know you could do that ! Dragging out of the Affinity home screen into photos app is not the way to export to photos app. Use export then share then save image.
  23. Only when you save, if it says Saving "Filename" as "Filename.afphoto" to "iCloud Drive" then this was an imported file being saved to the default auto created Affinity Photo folder in iCloud. but if it says Saving "Filename" as "Filename.afphoto" then it is saving the file back to where it was opened from.
