More weird behaviour, managed to get inpainting brush doing stuff but just not what it was supposed to be doing lol ! Interestingly, exact same behaviour when opened on PC version, using inpainting brush looks like it is cloning from the layers below now. Just for info obviously I was mid way through a repair when it stopped working, can’t recall what steps triggered this behaviour. IMG_9010.MP4

@cgleesonMy take on this:- 1. Luminescence adjustment noise reduction live filter layer, replicated 3 times. Use in-painting brush to correct minor blemishes. 2. Open in free Remini iPad app to sharpen using AI (Sorry don’t know of a PC solution) 3. Open in free Colorify iPad app to artificially colour. (Sorry don’t know of a PC solution) SharpenBoy.afphoto

Use the Baseline setting on the context toolbar to move the text above and below the curve, use the red and green handles to position text and also the reverse text path control again on the context toolbar to correct upside down text etc EDIT: Screen recording added Photo_Customer_Beta_2020_10.07_-_13_36_37_06.mp4

PDF Import (HOW?)
Paul Mudditt replied to RWCantel's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on iPad Questions
Assuming you have downloaded your PDF to a folder, then using Open from Cloud or Import from Cloud options browse to that folder select the file and open it. IMG_8937.MP4 -
If your document is sized by for example in inches then changing the dots per inch simply changes the dots per inch density. So a 6” x 4.5” image at 75 DPI remains 6” x 4.5” when changed to 300 DPI. However if you care to temporarily toggle the Units field to see the equivalent PIXEL dimensions before and after the resize you will see the pixel dimensions will change. In other words, to change the dimensions of the image, change the dimensions not the DPI.

Have you tried closing all apps and force restarting your iPad? https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/ipad/ipad63d30b5a/ipados#:~:text=1%20Models%20with%20the%20Home%20button%3A%20Press%20and,Apple%20logo%20appears%2C%20release%20the%20button.%20See%20More -

HDR Merge crash V1.9.0.199
Paul Mudditt replied to Paul Mudditt's topic in [ARCHIVE] Photo beta on iPad threads
No idea, I just automatically upload files that I have a repeatable problem with, this was just an iPhone image of the offshore wind turbine stands waiting to be installed in the North Sea from the River Tyne I decided to test the HDR function on. The bug seems to be in the Tone Mapping part. -
These two images crash AP on HDR Merge during the tone mapping. It’s actually only a single image exported twice with boosted exposure. 2015 9.7” iPad Pro on IOS14.2 beta. EDIT: Performed the HDR Merge as a separate step instant crash with no bug report message. EDIT: Tested same on V1.8.6.198 and works fine doing the separate steps including Tone map. Just noticed for those with a keyboard, I have a Logitech Smart Keyboard, the shortcut Cmd-I to invert does not appear to work on iPadOS14 in V1.9 or V1.8. Whether it worked or not in iPadOS 13 I don’t know.

How to align nodes

Here’s one way. IMG_8759.MP4 -
I can’t find any problems with text on a path and did not expect there to be any as the functionality has been built in for a long time, it was only the lack of a UI method of invoking the function,. It makes my TextOnCurve macro redundant now from my Mud’s Macros pack. It is a difficult function to master initially until you use the BASELINE setting in the Font Studio - Text Positioning. Also understanding that the curve vanishes and a duplicate curve is needed if you want both the text and the curve to be visible. Saying that, there is clearly a fonts problem linked to iPadOS14 as it causes AP & AD to crash on versions V1.8 and the V1.9 beta when you try to install a font via preferences so I guess it could make an appearance at other times too.

Wow you didn’t mention this ! Nice ! EDIT: I had a quick play, I messed a standard brush up deliberately. The toggle switch only has an effect if you close then open the beta, when you return to the settings field it automatically turns itself off again as an acknowledgement that the action has been performed. Very neat! As an ex software guy I can only imagine the internal discussion regarding what to do with imported brushes 😀. I think you made the right choice though to remove all imported brushes as it might be one of them causing a problem. People just have to remember to store their brushes in a folder in case there is a need to re-import after performing a reset brushes operation.

Looks like Windows, Mac and iPad benchmarks are also being added to this cross platform thread, think it is a good idea to add iPad results in case you are thinking of an upgrade and whether it is worth it.
