  1. Monochromatic Iconography does not work on V1.9 or the latest V1.9 beta (again). It also doesn't work in Designer and Publisher either.
  2. It sort of is an Apple thing actually, in iPadOS/IOS each app exists in its own isolated sandbox so there is no way for one App (eg Affinity) to communicate with another App (eg Photos) directly which is why the Apple “share” system exists to provide a method of transferring data.Hence it has to be export - share and not save which would not be allowed by the operating system.
  3. As Alfred said there isn't any way of doing this sensibly, I had considered creating an asset panel with each example of the arrow but to do what Richard does to the text needs more than an asset panel. What I would like to know is why V1.7 Affinity Photo on Desktop received this feature but the iPad has been left behind, and it isn't as if it can be claimed that it wouldn't be possible to implement on the iPad since Affinity Designer on iPad can do this.
  4. You may or may not be glad to know that if you have a keyboard and mouse connected to your iPad that method now works on the latest V1.9.1 betas for Designer and Photo. RPReplay_Final1613889687.mp4
  5. Only way I know is select both nodes tap break then delete the line. IMG_0019.MP4
  6. The iPad Air 4 has 4GB RAM so is clearly up to the job, as it is the same amount as similar size 2017/2018 iPad Pros, however the 2020 iPad Pro has upped this to 6GB so will obviously be superior if you can push to it.
  7. My preference is make a selection as mentioned above if you find it helps with the colouring then add a pixel layer above, change its blend mode to colour, use the colour picker as mentioned above then paint onto the new layer using the usual paint brush tool. Adjust the opacity of the layer to adjust to taste.
  8. Yes of course you’re correct Alfred, I should have delved further into the archives.
  9. V1.8.6 is missing from this list https://store.serif.com/en-gb/update/windows/designer/1/ I’m telling my facebook group members to downgrade if Designer won’t start but previous version is missing from this list.
  10. See my workaround it provides sufficient functionality to not be an issue on the iPad. IMG_0761.MP4
  11. Actually this isn’t as much as problem as it first appears, here is the workaround:- 1. Create your shape or import the image that you want to duplicate the pattern from, for ease of use here I just use a shape from the shapes studio but any image or shape layer will do. 2. From layers studio select New Pattern Layer, just accept the default parameters as they are unimportant. EDIT: Actually it is, if it is a very detailed pattern pick a larger size eg 500x500. 3. Move the pattern layer selection box over the area you want to create the pattern from, use the resize handles and snapping if needed as you desire. 4. Move the pattern layer below the shape or image layer 5. As James Ritson does in his demo video, use Merge Down and Bob’s your Uncle, pattern created ! IMG_0760.MP4
  12. I just spotted it, I tried to record the New Pattern Layer From Selection as a single item macro. It records ok but if you try to use it by firstly making a pixel selection then running the macro on the desktop, it creates a pattern, but its not the current selection. Seems to be a previous selection so clearly a bug.
  13. It’s a feature not available on the iPad yet and due to a bug in the macro recorder on the desktop for this feature I haven’t been able to do my normal trick of recording this step and using on the iPad version the way I added TextOnCurve and other features to the iPad in my Mud’s Macros library.
  14. Yes document palettes import fine, if they just allowed us to move a palette from a document to an application palette (EDIT: and vice versa) that would be a workaround to the missing import export palette functions.
  15. It’s logical, a document palette is attached to a document only, it follows the document around.from machine to machine. An application palette is attached to the application only, it isn’t attached to a document, if you delete an application palette then its gone for all documents.
  16. You can have Application palette 1, 2 ,3 Client 1, Client 2, Skin retouching, Old photo restoring etc, it isn’t a single application palette option. They are all available no matter what document you are working on. Experimenting is needed, why not install the V1.9 beta alongside your V1.9 live version and play with that version.
  17. The Affinity Photo home page is just a temporary sandbox, not intended to store work after you finish working. You should always rename your files and store outside of the app say in a cloud storage location if you need to keep the .afphoto files. Each file on the home page would probably be better presented as a tab on a desktop application. It just simplifies editing with history but all open tabs (open files) will be lost if you had to delete the app and re-install for any reason.
  18. Why didn’t you create an Application Palette rather than a Document Pallete, An application palette is available to all documents.
  19. All apps are linked to you Apple ID with Apple but no data can be shared with a third party like Serif which is why you need to enter you Serif ID into the app to allow quicker access to your purchases from the Serif Store.
  20. Timelapse without zoom function worked ok but was a bit boring so thought I would try zoom option, the video looks like it’s out of sync or something. Deb_when_little.mov Deb_when_little.afphoto
  21. On my iPad folder is external to the App, so files within the App and those in that folder may be different. One very dangerous caveat, IOS will delete the On My iPad Affinity folder if you uninstall the app so not only do you lose the temporary files stored within the app you also lose any that you have saved in the On my iPad folder. The solution, only store in an iCloud folder if you want a secure copy of your files. Personally I wish they would remove completely the option to store in On my IPad, and it certainly shouldn’t be the default at least.
  22. I asked for this a few days ago, no reason why same icons from designer including the snap magnet couldn’t be there.
  23. More of a future alternative use space not implemented yet perhaps, Designer and Photo both have the same number of icons on my 9.7” iPad Pro. Thanks Chris.
