  1. It is just a side effect of how the software is constructed, being an ex software developer in my earlier professional days I could see that there was never really 3 packages, just one software core with different user interfaces exposed so knew it would work but perhaps not work well because such test cases would not have been tested.
  2. So I recorded the CreateArtboard macro and added it to my Mud's Macros pack, it works but unfortunately Affinity Photo adds the artboard but then crashes on my Mac. Will try macro on my iPad and PC. Mud's Macros V7.afmacros
  3. It should do it automatically as the assistant setting states. Best to report in the iPad bugs section not forgetting to upload your original sample images, zipped if necessary and a screen recording of it happening to give the Dev’s a route to fixing it.
  4. Best to add which iPad model you have and what iPadOS version and App version are your using.
  5. Any type of editing, I suspect when memory starts to get used up, the app just crashes to the Home Screen, no crash notification on the release or the beta version and too unpredictable to screen record. I’ve tried the usual Forced Restarts and closing all other apps but problems persist with this release. I guess this was always eventually going to happen as you can’t get new features without using up more memory so the older devices suffer.
  6. This version should never have been released, it is crash happy on my first gen iPad Pro, the release version is practically unusable. Very sad indeed these errors were ignored.
  7. I tend to keep things, computers, cars, phones, TVs until they are all clapped out then buy new, my first gen iPad Pro is still amazing to me but might be tempted, lets see what Tim Cook comes up with next month.
  8. Cheers yes same results as me. What about on your newer iPad, does that handle Serif raw ok?
  9. It was set to Serif, when changed back to Apple raw you are correct that seems to work, phew ! Although this doesn’t explain why V1.9.1 is perfectly happy using Serif Raw and V1.9.2 isn’t.
  10. Agreed, the Preferences panel won't even appear on my M1 Mac Mini V1.9.2.4 FIXED: by doing holding control key whilst starting the application to bring up hidden reset mode menu then select all and then clear.
  11. It’s only 2GB in first generation iPad Pro, which has been more than sufficient until now. This release looks like it will kill older devices, I do hope it is not released like this.
  12. BUMP: Checked with build 236 and many of my CR2 files still load to a blank screen now from iCloud files, On my iPad and Photos.
  13. You should not keep your work on the Affinity Home Screen, if you do vast quantities of space will be used up internally in the app for file history and snapshots. You should give the projects you want to keep a name and save them to an iCloud folder, then most importantly you must CLOSE them to remove them from the apps internal storage. Projects you don't need to keep should be also closed to delete them. Once they are in the iCloud folder AND you have optimise files turned on in the iPad settings your files will offload from your iPad to save space. You may have projects stored in the On My iPad folder for Affinity Folder, if you need to keep them move them to your iCloud Affinity folder as they will be automatically deleted by iPadOS if you delete the app. After making sure all your work is stored in an iCloud folder you *may* have to delete the App to free up all the space and then re-install, I had to do that recently, likely because of a bug in an earlier version of the app. Offloading the app will not delete the documents data but deleting the app will so make sure you have all your assets, brushes etc saved in an iCloud folder as well.
  14. Ah that could be it then almost time to upgrade my first generation iPad Pro 9.7”. Still hope it is fixed before V1.9.2 is released though.
  15. I get a repeated problem loading Canon CR2 raw from my 1300D, Rebel T5. See video comparison V1.9.2 vs V1.9.1. If video isn’t clear, firstly I try and open the raw file using V1.9.2. Then I return to the Home Screen and use V1.9.1 which successfully opens the file. This happens with all my CR2 files so far. My problematic NEF file I use for these test cases loads ok though. NOTE: I am on iPadOS 14.5 beta so problem might be that. V1.9.1 loads correctly as usual. IMG_0424.MP4 IMG_0350.CR2 IMG_0354.CR2
  16. Can you upload a few problem images you have here in a zip file, I think I have stumbled upon a solution and need some other portrait raw images to test it on. Thanks.
  17. Could you upload a problem photo here in a zip file, I think I may have stumbled upon a solution to the portrait raw pixelation problem and I’d like to test my solution.
  18. @Johannes @VeeMax This has worked in Affinity Photo for iPad since as long ago as I can remember, simply make a shape and click inside it with the text frame tool. IMG_0389.MP4
  19. This is intentional, Affinity using import from photos always accesses the RAW original image. If you want to access the image processed by photos or other apps, simply use drag and drop from photos into Affinity to access the JPG version. Hmm, at least this how it used to work.
  20. @TimKing Works fine on my ancient first generation iPad Pro 9.7”. Have you tried closing all apps then doing a Forced Restart of your iPad. https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/ipad/ipad63d30b5a/ios
  21. Think you have posted in the wrong group. However close all of your apps then do a Forced Restart of your iPad. https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/ipad/ipad63d30b5a/ios
  22. Maybe check this Rasterise setting, SVG may not support everything you have done in Affinity, so you can choose whether to accurately represent your work, which may mean rasterising some of it or not. I’m guessing there is no vector method of describing your glow effect or the gradient which would need to be rasterised to export as SVG.
  23. That isn't normal, try rebooting your iPad or do a Forced Restart to see if that fixes it.
