  1. Can you describe or better still do a screen recording of your workflow, in particular how are you loading your images into Affinity, it is maybe that you are not importing your original high resolution images but are loading in the reduced resolution optimised jpgs ?
  2. Your export image shows the export file size as 29.33 MB and dimensions as 4820x5991 which is almost 4:5 ratio. This is more similar to the iPad screen format. Depending on which phone you have the screen format is different. If you want it to be full screen on your phone you need to crop in Affinity to the same ratio. For instance my iPhone Xs screen size is 1125x2436 pixels whilst my iPad Pro 9.7” in portrait mode is 1536x2046 pixels so a full screen image on my iPad would not be full screen on my iPhone. I would need to crop image to 1125x2436 ratio on iPad to be full screen on my iPhone. Hope this helps.
  3. Yes, refine and select output to be a new layer. IMG_0906.MP4
  4. How are you exporting, don’t use Export Persona, use Document -> Export method instead.
  5. 1. You can delete your top layer by selecting it in the layer panel then selecting the waste paper bin just above it. 2. Please watch this video
  6. Nadar, it would help if you pinned your layer studio open as shown in my video, as you do the steps. I suspect you either do not have the correct layer selected when doing the cut and/or your layer says "image" not "pixel". If it says "image", then rasterise the layer first and repeat.
  7. Did you do as I suggested. Let me show you what transparent canvas toggle does. IMG_0898.MP4
  8. Check the paper size is selected correctly on your printer. You should try downloading the Pantum printer app from the App Store and try printing through that rather than using the print dialogue. The reason is that you have a bit more control on your paper size. So see if you can use Export -> Share -> Pantum and make sure paper size is set correctly for your document. This works with other air printers but unsure about Pantum which I have never heard of.
  9. Try turning on Edit All Layers in the hamburger icon in the layers studio.
  10. Try re-entering the document then returning to the Affinity Home Screen again. If that doesn't work try closing all open apps then doing a Forced Restart of your iPad. https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/ipad/ipad63d30b5a/ios
  11. Make sure you have turned on Document->Canvas->Transparent Canvas otherwise the background will appear white and not the checkerboard pattern.
  12. You must have installed an Adobe app. Adobe assumes total control of PSD files on iPadOS preventing Affinity from accessing them. Uninstall the Adobe app is the only solution.
  13. Affinity uses a different workflow to other apps, they use a non-destructive workflow with history and therefore the files are considerably larger as you work, to protect your time investment. I guess if they removed one of the major benefits of Affinity over other apps which is being non-destructive then smaller files sizes would likely allow handoff to be implemented. I have no problems switching between iPad, Mac and my PC versions over iCloud once you relate to "close" Close means the same on the iPad as it does on a PC or a Mac. For example, you would not open a Microsoft Excel or Autocad Drawing document on a PC from a file server location then start working on another PC on the same document without first closing the file on the first PC. The file server would actually prevent it by applying a file lock to remind you that you (or someone else) had the file open already. This file locking capability is not available via cloud services so can catch the unwary out. So the rule is always, close any file before you attempt to open on any other system.
  14. You may have a selection active, even if you cannot see any marching ants, try a single finger press on the screen, a pop up menu should appear and tap DESELECT if it appears. Alternatively in Selections Persona, try Commands->Deselect.
  15. Don’t use the Export Persona which is a more specialised export tool, instead use the Documents-Export option
  16. You no longer need to do that, a single long press on the screen with your finger brings up a context menu with DESELECT as an option.
  17. Whenever an iPad misbehaves always close all apps and do a Forced Restart of your iPad. On newer models in quick succession press Volume Up then Volume Down then press and hold the power button continuously until you see the Apple Logo. https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/ipad/ipad63d30b5a/ios
  18. Yes of course you can, PS is just a toy compared to Affinity. Many tutorials on You Tube show you how. However I would recommend buying Affinity Photo while it is half price, all designs are fully compatible between Designer and Photo but Photo has more of the functions readily available for Mockups than Designer.
  19. Yes of course, make sure you turn on the PSD import options under preferences. There are many tutorials on you tube, here is a favourite channel Affinity Revolution who will show how to create using the desktop version but steps are the same on iPad, looks to the links to download their free samples which work perfectly on the iPad version of Affinity Photo. Also see Bethany's channel for iPad mockup/template tutorial.
  20. Have you checked under preferences-shortcuts what the colour picker tool is selected to, it is normally “I”? If so it is always worth doing a Forced Restart whenever an iPad or iPhone misbehaves. Close all apps then press Volume up then Volume down then press and hold the power button continuously until you see the Apple logo.
  21. You might have to try a Forced Restart which is different from simply powering the iPad off and on. You will not lose any data. Firstly close all open apps then either:- If you have a home button simply press and hold both the home button and the power button continuously until you see the Apple logo. or If you don't have a home button, in quick succession press volume up then volume down then press and hold continuously the power button until you see the Apple logo.
  22. As DM1 says, use the SAVE option on the Home Screen after first giving your project a suitable name. Then press save. This will save a yourname.afdesign file to either the Affinity Designer folder in On My iPad or preferably the Affinity Designer folder in iCloud. Look to the preferences to change to iCloud. Once you have saved as DM1 mentioned you should close your project on the iPad before you open the file on your desktop version in iCloud. If you have a Mac you will find that in Finder, if you have a PC install icloud so you can have direct access to this file. On the return journey to your iPad, save the file and close the file on your desktop before opening on you iPad.
