  1. Affinity Photo is NOT a DAM - Digital Asset Manager like Lightroom. In actual fact most of the DAM functionality of LR is built into Apple Photos which has quite an impressive image editor for basic edits, crops and colour corrections. Affinity Photo is akin to Photoshop which you use where more individual image in depth edits are required. What I am trying to say here, is that this is not a missing feature in AP just like it is not missing feature in PS. It is a different tool altogether.
  2. Welcome to the forums. ! Without additional information such as uploading your .afphoto or .afdesign file to these forums difficult to say, except a common problem is always to make sure you have rasterised your image layer before attempting any pixel level operations. In the layers studio, if it says 'image' then use the rasterise option first, it should then say 'pixel'. If it is not that please save your document and upload it here for others to look at or upload a screen recording of the steps you took before it crashed.
  3. You need to lift your adjustment layer in the layers studio and nest it with the fence layer you want it to affect. Alternatively if the fence is not on its own layer then create a selection of the fence and the adjustment will only affect the fence. IMG_0616.MOV IMG_0617.MOV
  4. Can you upload a sample image or .afphoto file that crashes for others to test. Also useful to state which iPad you are using, which version of iPadOS and which version of the AP app you are using.
  5. Here is a trivial macro in Affinity Photo that replicates exactly Content Aware Move from PS. To use, create your selection and refine as necessary, select your image layer then run the Content Aware Move macro in my Mud's Macros V11.afmacros library. See demo. The macro steps are simply, 1. Rasterise current layer 2. Duplicate Selection 3. Select original layer 4. CMD/CTRL-X to cut out the background 5. Grow selection by 8 pixels 6. Content aware fill using EDIT->INPAINT command 7. Remove the marching ant selection Demo of use on Mac and iPad versions after making a selection attached. Mud’s Macros V11 SelectionFromLayer - convert a layer into a pixel selection SelectAllLayers - select all layers quickly DeSelectAllLayers - de select all layers quickly PencilPortrait - Convert Photo to pencil sketch (Credit: Alpha Sierra) InpaintCrop2 - fix edges after a straighten crop, same as Content Aware Crop functionality in Photoshop. (Credit: Jim Welsh) Inpaint - the inpaint option from the desktop. Sketch Effect by R C-R - Converts to a sketch effect (Credit: R C-R) Dave’s 6-Layer High Pass Sharpening - Uses 6 layers of sharpening (Credit: Dave Straker) ExpandStroke - Expand Stroke from Designer Create Artboard - Create an Artboard from Designer in Photo TextOnCurve - Text on Curve from Designer Pre-Process - Add a curve and a sharpening layer FSStack Frequency Separation Stack by InAffinity (Credit: Dave Straker) Wraparound V1.8 by John Rostron ) (Credit: John Rostron) Create Compound Object - Create Compound from Designer Content Aware Move **NEW** Create and refine a selection, run macro, new layer created from the selection and the source area is filled using content aware fill command edit->Inpaint. **NEW** These macros were written on desktop for use on my favourite iPad Pro platform but will work on PC, Mac and iPad versions. Some of the macros will look a little odd to desktop users as they were my attempt to add some of the missing functionality from the desktop to the iPad version. It is a “.afmacros” library file so in desktop use view->studio->library and import into the library pane not the macro panel which is only for single “.afmacro” files. 8. So long as you have the latest version, the release package contains both Intel and Apple Silicon M1 cpu binaries so do not worry.
  9. Took a few minutes but your .afdesign file exported ok on my 11” M1 iPad Pro. Untitled.psd
  10. Hi Alfred, the guy who I passed on the details of the English and German cheat sheets never got back to me unfortunately so I am unsure if a French AZERTY version has been created yet. However I know that one french person re-programmed the square brackets to be round brackets for brush size adjustments since square brackets don’t exist on a french AZERTY keyboard layout.
  11. Do this non-destructivey by adding a pixel later above. Use the inpainting tool, set to 100% opacity, 100% flow, 100% hardness with a small brush size and set to This Layer and Below.
  12. In Photo, @DM1 solution above is one way I had not tried before and looks to be a good option. However my preferred method is to clip a layer using a shape, the reason I prefer this method is that it is non-destructive and the cropping can be adjusted easily. IMG_0427.MOV
  13. As I understand it, this is controlled by iPadOS, perhaps in iPadOS16 greater use of the M1’s RAM will be available.
  14. No the released version is ahead of the beta version and has been for several months. You will need to wait for the next beta release to access your files. It is unwise to store your files within the app, you should always store outside of the app files you need to keep preferably in an iCloud folder.
  15. Have you tried going into the layers panel to strip out what you need from the PDF. A PDF is just a layered document so can be exploded and content extracted.
  16. Absolutely not, don’t use export persona, much easier to use File - Export or File - Share..
  17. Yes this works for me from a PSD import, however I have seen it not working as well. In trying to find out why it sometimes doesn’t work, I found that saving it as an .aftemplate seems to stop part of this working, anyone know why? T2P-5X7-IMAGE.aftemplate
  18. Easiest way is to drag a shape such as a rectangle on top of an object and in the layers panel lift it onto the object layer slightly to the right which will clip the object to the shape. You can further reposition the clipping layer and resize it by selecting only the clipping layer in the layers panel. This demo on desktop but it is exactly the same on iPad version. 19. I have the M1 iPad Pro 11”, although I found one DNG image that would not load on that site, possibly corrupt, all the others I tried opened perfectly into Develop mode. Try closing all open apps and doing a Forced Restart. I am also on the latest iPadOS 15.3 beta 2.
  20. The older iPads just don’t have enough RAM for latest iPadOS and Affinity, I had to upgrade to M1 to get a decent working experience unfortunately.
