Picture disappears when I’m painting on iPad
Paul Mudditt replied to teleb's topic in V1 Bugs found on iPads
@telebIt would be helpful to mention which generation iPad you are using, which iPadOS version and which version of the Affinity apps you are using. Whenever an iPad misbehaves it is always worth first trying closing all open apps then performing a Forced Restart to see if that fixes it. https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/ipad/ipad9955c007/ipados -
A. Photo Ipad version
Paul Mudditt replied to Dankzy's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on iPad Questions
That feature requires a mouse to be used so that the position of the cursor can be known before mouse button is pressed, unfortunately the iPad cannot figure out where the pencil is or your finger until you touch the screen. Possibly in the future an iPad mouse or magic keyboard trackpad location will be added to allow such a feature to be available. -
Current project exports previous projects image
Paul Mudditt replied to Techboy's topic in V1 Bugs found on iPads
It is an awful awful bug to not have been fixed by now. -
This was a particular difficult image I chose because of the lack of contrast difference yet it still makes a decent guess at a cutout that would require minimal tidy up. Results on easier subjectslike my grandson is obviously superior. Very stable release for me. Only gets a bit buggy when using second full screeen 27" display from my M1 iPad Pro.

Look at the layers panel, if it says ‘image” on a layer select the layer then rasterise it first. Alternatively, add a pixel layer above and for each tool you use make sure on the context toolbar across the bottom that the tool is set to ‘current layer and below’. This way you can fix scratches etc non-destructively. IMG_2140.MOV

Not sure if this is relevant but on looking at this design on my Mac, I was wondering if your problems were anything to do with using image layers rather than pixel layers, because I had seen many problems previously using image layers and pixel operations. So when I tried to rasterise the image layer on my Mac Affinity Photo crashed, so may be worth starting again but since you are doing pixel operations to rasterise the image layers first.

Try closing all open apps then doing a Forced Restart Forced Restart On older iPads this is done by pressing home and power buttons continuously until you see the Apple logo. On newer models in quick succession press Volume Up then Volume Down then press and hold the power button continuously until you see the Apple Logo. https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/ipad/ipad63d30b5a/ios If that does not work, save all your work to an iCloud folder then delete and re-install your app. Make sure to save all your work outside of the app and not in the OnMyiPad folder as it will be deleted by iPadOS when you delete the app.

It may help to save off your .afphoto file and upload it here for others to help. Which iPad are you using, what version of iPadOS are you using and which version of the app are you using? Did you try a Forced Restart which can fix many problems ? https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/ipad/ipad9955c007/ipados

crop and resample not working as shown in the tutorial
Paul Mudditt replied to Klaus_A_D's topic in V1 Bugs found on Windows
Are you sure about your dimensions because 5312/96 = 55", 2988/96 = 31.125" I would recommend a different approach that works on iPad and Desktop versions, instead :- 1. Use Document->resize document, deselect resample as you do not want the image resampled, change the units to pixels, THEN change DPI from 96 to 300 THEN click resize. 2. Select resize document again then change units back to inches, click resize. By doing this you have change DPI from 96->300 without resampling the image so all your original pixels are still intact. 3. Now use the crop tool as desired. -
@stokerg BUMP This is still not fixed with iPadOS15.5 released yesterday and now see on my Facebook groups that it is not just M1 iPads but iPads over three years old are also affected. This bug needs fixing, getting very concerned now as to why this bug is not a priority.

Poor quality of a photo
Paul Mudditt replied to Nadar's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on iPad Questions
20MB is typical limit on emails, so send by email and keep to that limit. -
How Can I Do Scale Drawing?
Paul Mudditt replied to Mainecoon364's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on iPad Questions
1) There is no ruler, use the Transform studio to set exact sizes. 2) Use 2 finger modifier whilst drawing second point on a line with the pen tool in line mode. If you have not watched the Serif tutorials, now is the time to do so. 3)See answer to 1) -
I can't paint anymore…
Paul Mudditt replied to Nadar's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on iPad Questions
You still have boxes unticked, tick them all and your image will re-appear. If you have not done so already please watch the Serif tutorials so that you learn the basics otherwise you will continue to be frustrated. -
Unable to export to PSD
Paul Mudditt replied to ewelina's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on iPad Questions
Use Resize document, leave the dimensions at 8ft x 6ft if they are the dimensions intented and drop the DPI as suggested. At the moment your document is 28'800 x 21'600 which is at least ten times the size your need. I would drop DPI to 72DPI or even lower. -
I would recommend you do not import your projects unless you intend to work on them again immediately. Create a folder structure using iCloud files app and store your work there for future use, not within the app.

To Save the Photo is Not possible
Paul Mudditt replied to j.serrano.cuenca's topic in V1 Bugs found on iPads
@Callum @j.serrano.cuenca Known bug affecting new iPads, really needs fixing Workaround is to close the app completely and export again. -
Someone on my facebook group asked about being able to export as BMP so I created an example Siri Shortcut which integrates well with the Apple share interface. IMG_1971.MOV Untitled.bmp
