True. Serif knows that too but i prefer them to stay a small team and take their time. "Unfortunately" Publisher got the priority though I am also waiting for that for Book design/layout.

Not only Adobe but also Skylum which announced to have their DAM ready this year. As they said to have it ready last year. But still from what I am hearing it seems that they took a huge step forward to the actual release. Regarding sensei. I don't want to have my pictures in a cloud and I don't want to have any AI being able to work through my stuff. Privacy is what matters. Unfortunately that's something that many people don't rely on...

Not sure about that. They may have learned from the past that announcing something too early bites themself in regards of meeting timeframes. My bets are on 2019, though that depends on how long publisher will stay in beta/take until it's ready which is the same for the 1.7 versions of Designer and Photo.

They are developing a tool for that (a DAM, Digital Asset Management), though it is still unknown how feature rich this will be. Also the timeframe for a release is unknown, though it is known that affinity publisher will come first, so that the core range photo, designer and publisher will be completed first. This makes absolutely sense though many people are waiting for a DAM too, as there aren't that many good alternatives out there. Long story short: You are not the only one having a hard time to decide if it is worth it to spend money on something else or save the money for the Affinity DAM as there is no given timeframe for that.

Many people are waiting patiently for that one. Serif won't announce a release date until it's nearly ready, which is okay. Though an update on that matter would be more than welcome.

@sgbotsford Well it is up to you to judge about that. I'm only just now starting to learn to code. Agree with all four of your points though. All those filter kids and so called influencers don't make for a growing market for professional software. Still the professional market would be big enough if there were alternatives. And if more photographers would know/trust those alternatives. We will see what the time is up to.

All those points though... Does explain why a) There isn't the perfect solution and b) Why it takes so long, to build something stable (Not to mention the small team Serif has and the other projects, that they were working on) However point a) doesn't make one more patient though point b) should do that.

No problem, found my old one from years ago. Still sucks that one day you would need to hire an accountant to keep all those stuff organized. Yes, PW-Manager, but could be so much easier if they hadn't such a high desire for all of the customers info. But that's another story.

That's sad. Would have been a great chance for Serif. However, did you know that Photokina ist about to change their usual rhythm from being every 2nd year in September to being every year in May beginning as soon as next year? You guys should take that into consideration for the future as it is the world's leading photo exhibition. And hey, it's just a 1 1/2 hour flight from Manchester for example. Hey Serif, are you going to attend Photokina (September in Cologne, Germany) as an exhibitor? Would love to see so many creative attendees get in touch with your ever growing Lineup. Ah and yes: snag myself some cool merchandise like those nice Affinity Stickers for my Macs :-)

Had a look at bridge before but I'm not sure if that would be the desired step up from Canon DPP like I expect Affinity DAM to be on day or another.

As far as we know, Serifs (The company behind the Affinity products) priority has always been to finish the so called Core Range of Affinity which means Photo, Designer and Publisher for Windows, Mac and iOS. The next thing, and as such part of the Core Range, would be the DAM (Digital Asset Management aka Photo Library or even Media Library). Given their small team (small teams always work best imo) I wouldn't bet on anything else anytime soon.

Thanks to this thread we know that the DAM is in the works. I understand that we won't know anything more until the devs are ready to share it and that's fine as they have some good reasons for that. Still my workload as a photographer grows and grows which means I think I'll have to finally abandon Canon DPP (works for some pictures a week but not very snappy on Mac and absolutely not user friendly to be honest, just not as modern as one would wish). Question: Would you recommend to get another DAM Software (Lightroom 12 month plan or LR 6 Standalone) until affinity DAM is ready? I'm not sure if that would make sense for the time being. That is as I still remember from having used LR before that it isn't really the perfect Software. Loved Aperture back in the old days but that's another story.

This would mark the perfect Day for Affinity DAM public Beta!!

Hello, I can confirm that this issue is partly resolved within iOS 11 Public beta 4 which was released today. The very bright parts don`t appear to be blacked out anymore, though there still remains the following issue which may or may not be related to whatever Apple changed to their Raw development core: You`ll notice some green/blue „flicker“ (don‘t have any better word this) horizontally on the lower 10 % of the pictures. What I‘m talking about is looking like an film of oil. I believe that this hasn`t been there on Public Beta 2, but was introduced with Public Beta 3, though i may have just overseen it before. I can also confirm that this issue doen`t appear on Affinity for Mac. Anyone else having experiencing something like this?

Hey @heyitsdiggy, you may want to have a look on this thread, where we have the same issue since the latest iOS11 beta. I see that you are another canon user having this issues.

"Happy" to see that I'm not alone with this issue but somehow wondering that i didn't read more about it. I guess it would be helpful to understand if its only related to Canons raw Format, 10.5 iPads or iOS 11 Beta "globally" However here's hope that with todays new beta of iOS 11 everything got resolved.
