  1. @James Ritson Alright, I tried for a few more days but the YouTube Playlists are still annoying to use, very much not user friendly and confusing. I just don't think they were designed to be used as an overview like the old tutorial page on Affinity Website was. Nothing wrong with using YouTube as a host and the contents at all. I just gave up trying to find my way through these. I have to be careful with my time and can't afford wasting it with a system much worse than the one we had before. Thanks for the great tutorials, though!
  2. @stokerg I don't want to tell you how to run your business, but quiet honestly - as posted here - forcing the user to enter the "2" (version number) to their search term in order to find what they are looking for WITHOUT having to scroll to entry 52 (Photo) or even higher (Designer) - which I doubt many will do, if any - is both lost (gain of) market share and missed revenue. In fact you are pushing potential clients towards the completion - which rank much higher for what should be YOUR search term! Again, that's not our (users) call, but being a developer myself I can't see why I would take that hit. I hope this doesn't sound rude in any way - at least it's not meant to!
  3. @LondonSquirrel sorry I was searching the forums for: AppStore... unfortunately they were using "Apple Store"in the other thread though so I couldn't find that one. I'll continue in the other thread now.
  4. I think you should look into this: When I search for "Affinity Photo" in the German Mac AppStore, Photo appears in Row 26! Each Row consists of 2 entries so Affinity photo is entry number 52!!! for the exact search term. Even worse, Designer (phrase: Affinity Designer) arrives at Row 31 (first columns) so that makes it for entry 61 if I'm not mistaking. Publisher is an easy win as there are only 3 entries. It's only when I search for "Affinity Photo 2" (so including the version number), that I'll get each product on the first place. I highly doubt many users will add the version number to their App Store search term, though. Many may leave the AppStore frustrated.
  5. James, better than nothing and I understand your reasons, but still the old tutorial page was such a comfortable, lovely and warm place from a users perspective. I can't see myself coming to either the list in the forums or the YouTube playlists regularly which in the end leads to me using the products less often. I realize, though, that it may just be me who is truly missing browsing the old page to either get inspiration by the thumbnails or just to have a nice Sunday morning with a cup of coffee and watch you guys show some magic 🙂
  6. Hey James, Thanks for another set of great tutorials. Always loved them. One thing though: Can we please have them back on the affinity website? That was such a clean and clear overview with the well sized thumbnails. YouTube Playlist are - sorry - a mess, at best. Not to forget, Googles never ending experiment with changing the UI and UX of the YouTube Website. Using the Playlists I find it way harder to find what I'm looking for + more clicks than necessary (Click on basic > new page opens > first video starts playing > disturbs from searching through the playlist). Again, nothing wrong with the content itself, great as always. Same goes for the new Suite itself. Great work!
  7. While I can't wait for a Serif-quality DAM, I think it would only make sense if they'd super-power their raw engine. As much as I love all three products of the Affinity range, the raw engine really lacks so much. I'm a dog photographer and for that I rely on great shadow and highlight recovery sliders. (There is not much chance to adjust the exposure while shooting series of running dogs in an open field where they rush from shadow to sun to shadow and so forth). So far, Capture One has convinced me with these tools. Their price tag however... That's another story.
  8. I think as with almost any other developer, Serif have learned that delays may always occur. Creating buzz around this or that feature by pre-announcing it via a Roadmap does add pressure to the devs and dissatisfaction by the users, as some of you already stated. Being an Indi-developer myself, I can clearly see both sides. It may be easier to work around a Roadmap if you have a giant Team of devs like Adobe has. Serif doesn't have such a huge team and for that, they are getting pretty much done year after year. Next to that they are doing a great job managing their user forums and I do believe that they keep track of which features are highly desired using the forums. In the end, those need to match their own plans, though. Still, I can't deny that I wouldn't love to get a glimpse of their internal roadmap!
  9. Crazy 😀 I'd love to have the same sort of creativity in terms of creating new things out of the blue! Really love this!
  10. Awesome, @Old Bruce! It was indeed set to cube... Not sure how tired I was when that happened. Many thanks for your help!
  11. Hi All, I'm working on an iOS app prototype using several Artboards (to keep track of the different design stages) in one AD-document. I must have done something pretty stupid that I can't fix (or can't find the fix for) for days now. With snapping activated, I don't get the usual red (horizontally) and green (vertically) snapping "guides" any longer, but therefore get an orange one for both. I don't mind the color change but moving an item say from left to right makes it jump up and down (maybe to snapping to other guides?) a bit, so that I can't move an item either horizontally or vertically "smoothly" any longer. The usual green and red snapping guides only appear when I hold down command (as I just discovered by creating he screenshot below), but they look to be out of place, too. I tried different snapping options from the drop down menu and now have everything set up exactly like in a sample project where everything is working fine, so this looks to be document base rather than app based. Is here any way to reset the snapping engine for a document? The only other thing that could have caused this in my eyes is that my canvas accidentally got rotated once. I fixed that using the "View/Reset rotation" command. Could that have led to this snapping issue? I'm sure there is an easy fix for that, but I can't find it. Thanks!
  12. Well... That's how I feel for the Affinity live Keynote at 18:15 UK Time. I mean, we already know publisher so I hope the surprises Ash teased will be something more than just the activation of the Designer and Photo personas.
  13. Hi Adam, thanks for your quick reply. I don't want to sound disrespectful, so please don't get me wrong, but with usability in mind, I don't care if it may be appropriate. To be honest, I don't even understand why it wouldn't be appropriate. For me it wouldn't even make any difference if both sides were sitting in different solar systems It would just help me to reach my target i. E. tutorials quicker. And yes, quicker as to hit my favourites and look around for the right one. (We may better call it: more convenient. Your whole Software, from photo to publisher is so damn intuitiv and convenient. Why stop there?) And, well uhm... There is a link the other way around, right? I can jump right from Affinity Website to the forums. Maybe that is, what won't let me understand why it's not appropriate. However I do respect your decision
  14. Didn't know where to put this, so please feel free to move the topic. One "issue" I do have from time to time: If I want to go from forums to your actual website I can't find an easy way, instead find myself typing your domain into the address bar in Safari. I always try to get to your Website by clicking the Affinity Logo on top of the forums, but that leads to the main forums page which actually is the same action that the "Browse" link just below that provides. Any chance to implement an easy way to hit the website from within the forums? Or any chance I just missed that easy way? Thx a lot. Oh and yes, I do understand Publisher and Affinity Live tomorrow are top priority right now
  15. I discovered a bug, which I can't reproduce right now but still wanted to let you know. I've been working in Publisher (1.7.0.384) in Fullscreen Mode (I believe this is the important part). I had another App open in Fullscreen Mode to the right of Publisher and a third App open to the left, that was NOT in Fullscreen Mode. I then went some (about 10-15 i guess) steps back (Cmd-Z) in Publisher. Right after that I tried to add 2 new Pages to my Publisher document via right-click and the App stopped responding. Two things I noticed: First I couldn't do anything in Publisher anymore but taking any action i wanted via the top menu (File, Edit, Document...). This still worked which got me thinking. Second, and the solution (Though this behavior shouldn't be expected, right?): I then swiped Publisher to the right (3-Finger Trackpad Gesture), so I got to the App on the left Side, that wasn't in Fullscreen mode and there you are: The Popover to add Pages occurred on that Space (over the wrong app) instead of on the Publisher space which ran Publisher kinda unresponsive as it expected me to take any action with the "Add Pages" Prompt. Unfortunately the Popover faded out immediately every single time I swiped over. Once I closed the app to the left the Popover stayed on my Desk so I could Screenshot it. Please let me know If this (which actually isn't a crash) also may have created any kind of log-file that I could provide to you. Thx
  16. Though on Mac I really appreciate the improvements in noise reduction!! Great job on that!!
  17. Hey. The Personas for Designer and Photo will be available with the Release Version (of Publisher) from June 19th. Just imagine Serif doesn't want the public to be spoiled about this amazing feature until they announce it themself at the Affinity Live - Livestream on June 19th. Doesn't matter if you bought from Mac Appstore or Affinity Store once the feature is live. Scapa
  18. For what it`s worth, i got the same issue for Eos 7D but slightly worse... With some pictures i got 2 AF fields shown active though using Single Point AF. Obviously none of both is the correct AF Field. Will this also be tackled in the next version or should I upload the raw file too just to be safe?
  19. Both will work in Publisher once Publisher will be released on June 19th. Doesn't matter if you bought Designer and Photo from AppStore or Affinity Store.
  20. Though the Shortcut does already help a lot, being able to paste without format via right-click would still add even more convenience to this task. Any chance this will get implemented in the future?
  21. Any chance you guys update the Affinity TV App on Apple TV for a live stream of the Event (and catching up the new set of turorials?) Would be pretty cool. Nevertheless, looking forward to Affinity Live!!
  22. Thanks, Walt. Didn't know some of those were also available via the Document menu. Stumbled over the Issue as i tried to quickly mirror a single picture in the beta version and found myself confused, as the Arrange menu items were working in the release version.
  23. Hey there, wondering if the Workflow changed between the 1.6 and the 1.7. Range? Can't manage to Align, Flip or Rotate a picture(.CR2) in 1.7.0.130 via the Arrange menu. Tried the same steps for both versions: Load the raw file to AP > hit develop without any further Adjustments > open the Arrange menu. As the Screenshots show, Align, Flip and Rotate are all greyed out in 1.7 whereas all are working fine in the latest 1.6.7version. Any mistake on my side? Same happens for .jpg files too, btw. Thanks in Advance. Scapa
  24. Differences as well as similarities. We are living in those times where Apple sued a coffeehouse for using this Logo: https://www.sueddeutsche.de/wirtschaft/computerkonzern-verklagt-bonner-cafe-wehe-sie-veraeppeln-apples-apfel-1.1173840 Also plenty differences in my opinion.
