Thank you.  I just started with affinity designer two days ago.  I can't believe I figured out how to do this.

    Hello,
I have created several text effects, which I would like to share with you.
The first three effects are the most interesting.
Effects one and two use live scattering filters and blur to create a stamping effect on normal text/fonts.
The second effect adds a noise filter to simulate heavy wear, which is different one every letter.
The third effect is the typical vintage 3D effect.
The effects are created by layering several live filters and effects.
    4 and 5 are just tests/bonus. :-)
Advantage: The effects and the text remains editable.
Disadvantage: Memory and processor have to work more.
The recommended application is to open the text effect file in another window, enter the desired text and then copy over the group.
Use the effects in your work as you like. (Public Domain)
(But please don't sell the text effects as such.)
    Have fun,
    Martin

    The sweet Ilford Delta!
Should still have a couple of rolls in my fridge together with Fuji Neopan....
I remember these as very accommodating, in particoular Delta 400.
You're taking me back to my Rodinal days...

Thank you so much. I know these from Rawhtherapee (on my Ubuntu laptop), and I really like them. Very nice to have access to them in APh aswell!

For RawTherapee there is a nice collection of Hald Color Look-Up Tables, that i was missing in Affinity. So i started to programming and 400 Lines of c++ later, i had a nice converter...
Over 300 LUTs of (old) analog films (BW / Colour) and colour effects. Look at the attached ZIP-File. (80 MB compressed, uncompressed 365 MB)
The HaldCLUT LUT-Files are not created by me (one exception).
License (CC BY-SA 4.0) is included.
    Have fun with it...
    ps.
I am thinking about to relase the converter(Win/C++) (MIT-license) too. If you interessed, write me a message/post.

    Hi @MartinB78,

You might have a temp file that's still "trying " to open. Navigate to %AppData%/Affinity/Photo/1.0/temp/ and see if you have a file here. If you find a file, delete it and you should be fine

    Thanks,
    Gabe.

    Hi Ekoh,
    Welcome to Affinity Forums
Quick shapes are the shapes created with the rectangle or other smart shapes tools (see the icon below the Pen Tool - click the small arrow on the bottom right of that button to see a pop-up menu with the rest of the smart shapes available).
Styles cannot be applied to pixel layers which is probably what you are trying to do (see the label between parenthesis after the layer's name in the Layer's panel to identify the type of layer you are working with), but they can be applied to image layers (or to shapes and text layers as Callum mentioned/suggested).
Image layers are a special layer type that retains all the original image data - you can think of them as embedded images -. They are created when you use the Place Image Tool (in Affinity Designer only), the File ▸ Place command or when you simply drag them from the Finder (Mac) or File Explorer (Windows) to the canvas of an opened document. They can be transformed globally (rotated, skewed etc) without losing quality but they cannot be edited/manipulated at a pixel level as pixel layers.
If you are looking for image effects you may also want to take a look at LUTs (adjustment). Here's some you can download/try shared by @MartinB78.

    Hi Martin,

lot of thanks and one question:
What happens when applying the "g-buster" style?
After unchecking the one and only framing-FX the whole text (previous solide black) is gone.
Even if i recolor the background + i just see this as as a selcting-blue-line when in layer-focus???

Thats mysterious, so what happens when applying this style?
