Whilst in apple photos the image does not launchwhen usingthe application shortcut user interface on the ipad even thou the same interface works for other functions

[Lost photos]

Good evening all,I have upgraded my mac to High Sierra. Now when I edit a photo in affinity, then save it, (CMD +S CMD+W CMD+W) then close it, it disappears. In the past it would be saved in photos (if I saved it as a jpeg), or in affinity folder if saved as an .aP file. There is an option to share it with photos. Please where are my photos being saved?
