I just dived into the settings of the Grid- and Axis- Manager.. so i found out there are great ways now to create rows and Colums also with gutters.. but it allways seems to start out from the left upper corner of the Page.. I also moved the Ruler Origin.. but this didnt have any influence on the Grid and Axis.. so the questin of course is, if i can move also the origin of my grid and axis ? for example to the center of the page, so i get even distribution on both pages.... possible ? By the way... using fixed length doesnt allways do the job very well.. what we often want rather... take that length.... i point you to... and devide it by 5... and than use folowing gutters... Thats rather how most of us think wen we design a page dont we ? so my suggestion would be.. first make the origin point for the Grid and Snappings movable.. secound, let us point to a fixed length... and tell the program to devide it by... x plus gutters. if needed... third.. maybe a Grid and Axis " Object", like a Square we can position like a square and then devite it with Objectinternal Axises and devisions and gutters... this way we also could use what ever axis on each page seperated if wanted or needed..

isnt the problem, that you cant update a special style on the attributs of another text that doesnt belong to that style ? Just because the style selection jumps to the corresponding style, when you select a text ?

I Would still apreciate very very much an option to choose if i want to have the imported PDF as a Pixelgraphic comparable to the import options in Photoshop. Why ? We are architects.. We import pdfs to Photoshop sepertate the lines from the colors and have to improve the result for comptetitions. With Pixelgraphics i can select very easy comparable colors and aply changes. much more efficient than with an pdf composed of thousends of separated fillings and lines. also.. Changing them will be done in Cad Programms. so you dont need vektors in Photoshop. You do youre job in Cad.. reprint the pdf, and the linked file will be automaticaliy replaced with the changes. even when its a pixelrepresentation of the PDF. the Clou in Photoshop : Even when rasterised, the imported Florplans still stay linked to external files. this ist very very very important, becaus in competition you have to start your Photoshop work long before the Plans are totaly ready... they change all the time, and this way you only have to reprint your Changes to the folder your Photoshop Document uses and everything gets updated.. very slick.. and this doesnt work good with vektorimport.. So Serif.. Please Consider to also make pdf imports as pixelgraphics available as an option But !!!! let it still be linked to the original pdfs... this woul make live so much easier for all architects on this planet who consider to use Affinity Products.

But thats one of those tiny smal commands you realy miss if they are not available... should be implemented, and shouldn´t be to hard to implement..

as far as i know... inline graphics are high on the to do list of affinity....

Same experience here.. I didn´t try to produce a real Book... only reproduced a part of an Architectural Brochure.... with about 50 images included.. I saved it embedded and linked... and after linking, the filesize stayed at about 1.7 Gb.. if i would Guess, i think , publisher leaves the files also embeded somehow in the document even when it is linked... this should be corrected..

I am not exactly sure anymore.. But arent´t those symbols able to copy Features of an object to other symbols, but when you "desynchoronise" those symbols, you can change special Features, while others stay the same. for example you could position a rectangle on the masterpage, which gets copied as with symbols to the pages, the masterpage is aplied to.. now you can desynchronise the symbol , change for example the x scale of the rectangle, synchronise the symbol again, and you are still able to change the color of the rectangle on the master page and the color changes on the page too, even when the x scale has changed... I think those dotted line might indicate something like this ? But just guessing...

Hallo GabrielM, sorry to late to do this i think , My Admin in between has removed publisher and reinstalled everything and now it works.. seems, my reduced rights had to do with this.. when i tried to install with my password, i had the error, when he did, with his adminpassword, everything seemed to be fine.

Hallo GabrielM I just downloaded the newest One, and still get this erroer message... while installing, my admin alowed me some local admin rights, so i get asked for a password before installing.. than the install starts and immidiately. i get this error message.. its windows 7 on my computer...

I am getting an error message when i try to install it ! Error at Setup... anyone else ? Cant install it . want to install it.. why cant i install it.. why .. just why.. :-(

Hi Bones.. Nice tutorial.. i think in the macro i found there are by far more stepps integrated which also give you many variations to work with. But never the less you can get the idea.. So after my Kiteholydays in Ägypt... :-) i´ll try this out to reproduce in Affinity Photo..

Hi , I had some images i took from an indesign document that i only could copy in indesign and than paste to publisher... Now what does they mean ? They are missing? But i can see them in my document.. and still they are linked ? When thy are missing, how can i see them those not existing linked images, that have no path they point to ? one thing i noticed... some images have a cross inside other s dont.. seems these are the highlighted images ? so the x is an indicator, that its only my mind that can see the nonexisting images ?

Dave Harris.. You said, Redefine text style based on current selection is allready there but this works only when i pick the changes from a textelement that has allready those style applied right ? What when i got some other text that hasnt text style or that has another style applied... can i cope the belonging attributes also to those first textstyle ? Often ausers beginn a text and dont apply a style, but later on want to say.. ok.. now i want these attributs on my headlines for example.. how can i do this ?

Well ok.. but i am not even sure. this is a script or a macro in Photoshop..

Hi GabrielM. Well sure, you cant import this script to affinity Photo. But what i was intersted in is, if the scripting language of Photo is strong enough allready, to reproduce this script on Photo.

thats straight forward, trying out a beta for a real job.. you know it isn't supposed to use it this way already.. but except of that. a great test and good suggestions.. _ ignore text wrap options for text boxes is already there by the way.. just dont remember where to find it... - most important point for me... idlm im and export.. - also would suggest inline headlines spanning over several columns...

Hallo Tom (great name by the way !) Well sure you are right.. tha palette scrolls through the place where i am.. but whe i click on the page canvas in indesign, the page gets instantly selected in the palette to.. here the behaviour in publisher is differing.. Problem is.. i just cant select the next page by clicking or double clicking on it.. i have to do this in the palette.. which is wired..

in many cases when i move, scroll throug my pages, i still need to see which page in te Pages tab on the left i am at... sure.. when i scroll further on, the pages tab moves.. but what i miss totaly is folowing funktion... scroll through your document... double clik or click somewher on a page on the canvas, and the same page gets selected in the pages menue left.. i still have to search on the pages area for the actual page... it doesnt jump to it automaticaly somehow...

Well thats great in some cases in others its not... unlike Photoshop , affinity seems to try to get the vector orientated stuff to Affinity without rasterization... in many cases thats great.. in others, photoshops workflow also has advantages.. take for example printed cad plans as i all the time and all architects have to present and have to advance in photoshop (and later on in indesign)... Now photoshop imports pdf files printed from for example autocad.. and it gets rasterised... but still after conversion from pdf to pixels gets somehow linked to the original files.. which is important because changes are Architects all day work ..... but now rasterised its easier to select colors, make selections and so on.. with imported pdf´s in affinity photo this is much more difficult and vektors here are unnessesair because you wouldn t change lines in Affinity photo but in the cad application and reimport it.. so i would wish both possibilitys... import as vectors.. and if wished .... convert to pixels... but still remember the original file, so beeing able to import updates of the floreplans.. would make live so much easier for Architects..

I know, i can nest an image in a filled shape for example.. but where do i find the "convert to picture frame" option ?
