Coming back to the original question from the thread title:
    Cmd+Click Layer pixel selection equivalent?
this shortcut key is used for “selection from layer”. The same function is available on Photo for iPad, via the menu. Unfortunately this requires to switch to selection persona, and back to photo persona. Having a bluetooth keyboard may solve the issue.
On Designer, lacking Selection Persona, you are stuck.
If you are looking for getting a luminance selection:
unfortunately not available on iPad if you search in online help for “luminance”, it will show the same help section, but gives no information how to achieve this on iPad. https://affinity.help/photo/English.lproj/pages/Selections/selections_fromlayers.html Help for iPad

Unfortunately Macros are only compatible with Affinity Photo at this time, my apologies.
I can confirm this is certainly possible, select the Mask layer, then in the Layers Studio select Layer Options (...), here you have the option to set the View Mode to Solo, which will display the black and white matte of the mask only.
Once you're finished editing, simply select the same option to return the document to the normal view.

I hope this clears things up!

in the keyboard shortcut editor, 'zoom toggle' is notably absent from the list of editable shortcuts. i would absolutely LOVE it if i could change this to 1. CMD and then 2. +spacebar (in that specific order).
disclaimer: i have decades of photoshop muscle memory.
general fact: control, option, and command are nearly universally modifier keys, meant to be used first in a two-key combo.
affinity's use of spacebar first, then command to zoom into my document is the only software i've personally run across that reverses this concept. i use the zoom shortcut every 30 seconds in the type of work i do, sometimes even more. i play the desktop keyboard the way a guitarist plays a blazing metal solo when i'm designing or illustrating. now, i know there's a lot of Affinity crossover with photoshop's tools and shortcuts, so it would almost be better for me to have a different zoom shortcut entirely to get it further away from my aforementioned muscle memory.
because of this one specific, seemingly 'petty' issue i have with affinity products, i've basically given up on using them for any serious work on desktop. i get much more use out of the iPad versions because zoom is logically replaced by a gesture.
I see other posts on various sites bringing up this issue, and the claims are that this request has been submitted to affinity for years now, probably since v1. i'd be so incredibly appreciative if this was seriously considered and implemented.
thank you for reading and namaste!

n8r reacted to evtonic3 in Scale effects Globally
I just created a pretty hefty file with many components that all have different layer effects. And upon scaling the design for different purposes, of course there would be some effects that I forgot to turn on the scale effects button. So now I see how this global preference to scale effects and strokes in Illustrator is a good way to prevent this from happening. Any possibility we could get a global preference to turn on and off all effects? Unless there is a way and I don’t know how to do it.

Excellent, thanks. I was wondering about my use of twenty quid for a while there. (Oh and I did try the search function before posting but didn't find that.)

BTW for anyone who comes here and would like not to have to read their way down a long thread the short answer is:
"It will return in the next released. It looked like it was missed moving to the new photo library."

n8r reacted to rdat in Photo edits occupying too much space on iPad
    Hi,

I edited a single RAW file on Affinity Photo app so far, and the data section is saying that the photo file (which is around 25 mb) is occupying 200mb of space after my edits. At this rate I will only be able to edit a few photos on the iPad.

Is there a fix for this? The adobe apps don't seem to do the same.

    Thanks.

When I try to import from photos my photo library up yours and when I select all photos I don't see all the photos I have my photo library I have activated iCloud photos and use it actively. I have downloaded a few of them into photos but still they don't show in Affinity import option. I have attached a screenshot shot of both libraries.

Apparently it's a bug and (allegedly) fixed in the next version (see my similar question a bit lower down this forum, which like you was my first post here).
