  1. Hi All, Have a crash bug to report, see attached log incase its of use. I was changing the layer order of a Symbol, nested inside a symbol. crashLog.rtf
  2. Hi all, Might not be specific to beta 8, but I've found that in the guides manager when I have multiple artboards, if I have a guide at 50.7% and type 50% when I press return it jumps some other value related to the size of the document (i think) So I can't position guides through typing. See the attached sample file try to use the guides manager to type 50% for the guides that are off 50% Cheers. Additional thought... could this also be related to a issue I reported with Storing View Points in the Navigator view? Both seem to suffer from a disconnect between the document dimensions and the artboards positions. https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/22436-ad-navigator-viewpoints-to-update-y-position-on-document-change/?p=105199 type-position-guides.afdesign
  3. Crop opacity issue. Create a rect in a new doc. Set it's fill to black and Layer opacity to 75% Then crop it It's opacity changes. Not the values reported in the UI mind, just what you see on screen. (same effect with a shape crop or the crop tool) Also tested it in the MAS version and it does the same. Is this a known issue? Can't believe I've not noticed this before! Cheers.
  4. Hi MattP, In continuation of the 'Assets' panel crashing AD... I've found anther scenario that leads to a crash. I have a group with a Clarity adjustment from AF in it. Adding it as an asset will crash the app. Guess this will come out in the wash once it's a MAS release and Properly tested with AF? Cheers
  5. Hi Team, Got a crash when I access the asserts panel and select my personal assets :( Crashes even when there is no document open so I'm pretty sure it's my assets which have got screwed up somehow! I have them saved out so I guess I could do a reset on start up and then load the saved assets back in. Here is the crash log incase it is of use. crashLog.rtf
  6. Hi team, Still having an issue with the export persona, exportSelected button (exporting ticked slices) being greyed out when slices are selected. (See attachment below). Can't send a file because re-opening resolves the issue! Also having occasional issues with the app not releasing a file properly after being closed. If you try to open it again, it will offer to 'open a recovery' file - even though it was closed properly without a crash. If you say OK it says the 'recovery file can't be re-opened because it's in use'. Also had a crash after saving a file... crash log attached incase it's of use. Cheers. beta6_crash.rtf
  7. Hi Guys, Found an issue with duplicating artboards. The slice name appears to be correct but the export name isn't correct (see attached). To correct it I just need to click in the name field of the slice - as if to edit it - and hit return. So it seams the export name isn't been updated (along with the slice name) when the artboard name is changed after duplicating. If you can follow that rambling explanation? Cheers.
  8. Question about Symbols - which are great btw. Is there or will there be a way to update or replace a symbol in the panel. Perhaps a in the right click menu, 'replace symbol with selected'. Currently if I want to replace the contents of a symbol completely, I get a instance of it then paste in other contents and remove the old contents. I was wondering if this could be an action in the panel as described above - if not still works via the hands on route. Cheers.
  9. Hi, Been asked to create a feature request for this as it's not considered a bug.... In the attached example file notice the following. Artboard 1 and Artboard 2 See how the saved View Point AB1 centres the view on Artboard 1. Now delete or move in Y(a fare distance) Artboard 2 Now try to use the View Point AB1 again. You should see it's no longer centred on Artboard 1. Apparently View Points are fixed to the document. So perhaps moving or deleting the artboard is updating the document parameters but this change isn't passed through to the View Points. Although the error only appears to be in the Y axis so changes in X are accounted for? I had invested some time in using this feature but then I deleted an unwanted artboard and all my View Points were rendered incorrect. I still consider this a bug with the design of the View Point system as it doesn't allow the user to work freely with it, but rather, under strict usage rules which aren't explained/shouldn't be there. Hope the example explains and it's clear to see how it's current functionality can nobble you :) Example file in MAS 1.4.2 but the same happens in the latests 1.5beta(3). viewPointExample.afdesign
  10. Hi Andrew - do I need to add this as a feature request or can you pass this on? It means this feature only works if you use AD in a very limited way (no artboard can be higher than another if it might be removed later or it's height adjusted), which is odd isn't it? I have lots of artboards being added and removed during the course of a project - it means I can't reliably use this feature. In fact I'll have to stop using it until support is added :( Great news about the other addition in the next beta though. Cheers.
  11. Using 1.5beta(3) The somewhat hidden 'view point' creator in the navigator panel is really cool. Helps me navigate large documents that contain lots of separate designs and exports. Couple issues though. Firstly, if you delete an artboard that is higher or lower in the document than other artboards - the positions of the artboards or the document size is adjusted. However the saved 'view points' aren't adjusted for the new positions, so they no longer point to the correct part of the document. So to clarify, this error only seems to occur when artboards have a different y height. If artboards are removed in the x axis and are the same height it works correctly. Secondly each time I start the app the 'advanced' section of the navigator is minimised and needs to be expanded again. Could this option be recorded out to my UI preferences so it's there when I re-open AD? Cheers.
  12. Hey guys, new update is fantastic. Import export of assets really useful to me... found a couple little bugs. 1 When in the export Persona, the 'Export Selected' button doesn't grey out when there are no selections (items ticked). (Seems to be after turning off selections, not when a doc is opened with no selections). When you have 100+ exports like me that leaves you scrolling up and down a lot trying to find what is still selected! When this gets looked at a really helpful addition to that button would be a count of the number of selections (items ticked). Again its to do with managing a large doc. If the button read 'Export Selected (5)' I would know if that is more than I intended to export, then I can look for objects to turn off. ADDITION... also just had a scenario where 'Export Selected' was greyed out, then I selected (ticked) a slice and it remained greyed out. To get it to work again I tabbed across to another open document and then tabbed back and it was press-able again. So definitely some weirdness creeping in for 1.5 beta there. 2 When aligning a clipped/cropped object, the object doesn't align to the visually cropped area, but rather to the extents of the underlying object. This feels like a bug, surely if you have cropped it should align to the cropped area? Probably not a new issue? ADDITION... If it's a cropped primitive object say a circle it will align properly. If it's a cropped curve it won't align properly. Cheers.
  13. Hey no worries fella. I know how busy you guys will be with all this feedback - and that other thing called life which pokes its head in from time to time :) I'll send it over.
  14. Hi guys, I have a file that can reproduce the grouping problem I've been experiencing inside a Symbol. Would you like it for testing or is this a know issue which is being addressed?? Two issues can be tested; 1. Grouping certain objects inside a symbol causes those objected to be translated in an odd way - somehow linked to the first or highest artboard in the document. 2. Using undo to ungroup after issue 1 causes the application to crash.
  15. Got a file in where grouping some objects inside a Symbol cause some objects in the group to be transformed in a strange way - move miles away and scaled a bit. Might be re-lated to the crash bug when grouping I posted earlier? Unfortunately when I restart ADB and try it again to see if it's reproducible it doesn't happen. Likewise, undo after grouping objects in a symbol can cause ADB to crash but not after a restart. Something going wrong over time. I'll try to keep an eye on it.
  16. Crashing when creating a Symbol on a group that contains a 'Clarity' adjustment (the adjustment was added when the file was being used in 1.4.2.)
  17. Had a couple crashes when grouping objects inside a Symbol. Crash log attached. crashLog.rtf
  18. Exporting my own Asset set isn't working for me. The file it saves out is always 246bytes! Is this one known?
  19. Issue getting continuous export to work with multiple documents open. I have one document open, with continuous export checked. It's working fine. I open another document (continues is greyed out but checked). I export an artboard. Now continues is checked and not greyed out (so it looks like continuous is on) but continuous exports are not working. I need to then toggle the continuos check box off and back on. Not a show stopper but was surprisingly tricky to work out why it wasn't working. It seems that continuous should be off for a newly opened document and not greyed out as continues export should be considered a session based action, not a property of the file??? Cheers.
  20. Cheers MEB, I see where I was going wrong... I had converted the top object to an artboard - and that's when it stops working. So the confusion is some aspects of Constraints work with Artboards (maintain gap to edge) but others don't (horizontal relationship in this case). Perhaps there is a good reason for that? Still I'd maintain thats a little bit confusing as, er... I was confused :)
  21. Hey Matt that was exactly what i was looking for. Interesting... where I went wrong was not adding a container for the buttons. Not sure how you communicate it clearly that the middle button would require a parent transform (the button backing rect that itself is constrained) when the left and right buttons don't need the parent to perform their maintain left and right pos. Anyway that has cleared it up for me, and I'm getting a clearer picture of how the constrain tool works. I can use a rect as a null transform in my setups (make it not visible), might do that as a default step for constrained objects. Top stuff cheers.
  22. Hi Guys, question for anyone who's understood the constraints better than me :( Just trying to test a very simply three button set up in which... We have 3 buttons across the bottom of an Artboard. When the artboard is stretched wider - all three should be constrained, to their left right and middle positions and importantly not scale. I can easily link the left and right buttons to the edge of the artboard, but can't get the middle button to keep it's central position. This looks like a very useful feature once I've worked it out. For my use case some additions or simplifications might be useful. Suggestions Perhaps we could anchor an object to it's relative screen position, so if it's 1/3rd (container width) in X it will always be 1/3 in the X position as the container size changes. Perhaps that would be two check boxes. relative X pos and relative Y pos. Scaling could also be assigned in a similar way, so check boxes for scale X and Y. Both of these calculations could use the objects centre point set in the transform panel. No idea if that would work correctly with the transformation matrix of AD but could make things simpler and easier to understand in a lot of cases if not all? Anyway just my 10pence on the subject.
