lepr reacted to obio in Saving Interface Layouts
Photoshop artist with 20 years of experience here. I'm really trying to like Affinity. But this is a deal breaker for me. Suggesting that this is a useless feature is truly remarkable.
I work on about 10 different types of projects.
Sometimes I'm painting with a nearly blank canvas. Other times I'm doing film poster work with a few dozen masks. Other times I'm doing model photo retouching. Some documents have 200 layers and dozens of effects. Others require as much screen real estate as possible. I have different UI setups for everything.
Anyone who thinks this is a matter of "not resetting" from the last setup is frankly missing the point. This is about versatility.
If you want to create a work environment that matches the dozens of ways people make images, you need a workspace that reflects that.
This is a major limitation of Affinity.

lepr reacted to mr.burns in Easy way to combine masks
Hi,
I have two masks in my project. Each mask selects different parts of my image.
Now I want to combine them to a new mask (add operation).
Currently I only can do this by CTRL-selecting first mask and create a spare channel of it.
Then select the other mask, go to channels, right click the previously created spare channel and choose 'Add to pixel selection' and then click the 'Mask layer' icon.
These are many steps to just combine two masks. :(
Why there is no way to just select multiple masks and by right click providing a feature to combine them as add/substract/exor?
Will this feature be added in the future?
Thanks...

lepr reacted to anonymized2 in Option to increase the layer thumbnails size
on bigger monitors thumbnails at the current size are very small and pretty useless especially in Affinity Photo. On Photoshop you can increase their sizes.

lepr reacted to darkwark in Color Picker with HSB Box
I'm using AD for a while now and one of the major things I still struggle with is a Colour Chooser (both in a popup and Studio panel). It only supports HSL Color Box model (it is called “Hue” in AD).
Most major apps right are using HSB Color box. It is more familiar and easier to use: if I need a pure bright color, I'd just move the dot to the top right corner and that's it. In HSL Box though, I'd have to try to aim the center of color box. It is frustrating.
Please, add HSB Color Box to Affinity Designer.
I understand, that this might be not the most important feature in your road map, but it will definitely make life easier for those who come to AD from Photoshop, Illustrator or Sketch
(and especially for those who are constantly switching between these apps in the process)
Thanks.
