    Hey Mesquito,

I think this is because the marching ants are quite heavy on the CPU and the histograms outside of the Develop Persona are not prioritised by the CPU so as NotMyFault says, it often takes time.

I believe I already have an improvement logged for this so I will go and update it with your feedback—thank you.

Thank you - I'm still having issues after I deselect.  I waited ~30 minutes and it never returned.   My best option at this point is what 'NotMyFault' suggested by moving focus off the selection brush.

I have the same issue, but its mainly lack of patience: it can take several seconds until the histogram gets displayed (>10).

    What sometimes helps:

    • Switch to "move" tool"
    • Click the yellow triangle in the histogram panel
    • Open curves layer again

Can you try again and wait ... a lot?

NotMyFault - Thank you for the your response.  Switching to the "move tool" did the trick.  None of the other suggestions worked for me, but at least I do have a work around now.

Affinity Team - While I now have a workaround, please look into this issue.  I also experience same issue with the "Levels" adjustment.

  3. After making a selection, I lose all graphical histogram representation in the curves tool. To recreate issue:

    1. Open file
    2. Make adjustment using Curves (histogram is shown)
    3. Create a selection (histogram disappears in Curves adjustment tool.
    4. Delete selection and problem still exists
    5. Delete previous Curves adjustment and problem still exists.

Nothing I do, will bring back the original graphical representation on the Curves tool.  This is happening on the current release (1.9.2.1035) as well as the beta (1.9.4.1065)

Thank you! Good advice. I don't have Photoshop so I dab between 5 different types of image editors (the old Paintshop Pro Home Edition, Serif DrawPlus, Corel Paintshop Pro x7 and Serif Photo Plus x7. I already had Serif products so Affinity seemed a logical purchase and does offer great features which has added to the scope of functions available to me now. Good to know the forum will be always on hand to help! Much appreciated once again.

I have used PSP since version3 (~18 years)and jumped over to Affinity Photo about 18 months ago and never looked back. Affinity  has so much more to offer, but like any software it does take time to learn..

  5. After downloading 1.9.0 & 1.9.1, I reinstalled several macro packs via the account sign in.  I noticed that I can no longer edit the macros that are downloaded. The 'Edit' option is available, but when I click the button nothing shows up on the macro tab.  This does not happen to the macros that I created or imported. Is this a feature or a bug?

Thanks for the reply.  That's too bad, as I import a lot using Corel, which has no problem with drivers for scanners.  One of the reasons I got Affinity was to get away from Corel.  I guess that ain't happening.

    Thanks again.

David - I switched from Corel about a year ago.  While the twain support is nice to have, it's not a show stopper and you really should give Affinity Photo a try.  I use Epson scanner to scan my photos to tiff and open later in AP for editing.   I find this is actually faster for me than using Corel to scan, save and edit later.  But, I scan a lot of photo's in, so I usually work in bulk.. I scan 30-40 photos, then work on them for the next couple of weeks.
