  1. This is still a bug. If you use 'Vivid Light' on a 16 bit image, you get all kinds of artifacts.
  2. 1.10.4 appears to have corrected the issues that I was having with funky square boxes and pixilation under 1.10.3.. Thank you.
  3. Same issue(s) with same graphics card. Had to turn off hardware acceleration to work. Did not have any issues with previous 1.10 version. A lot of pixelations and square artifacts with latest upgrade.
  4. Forgive me if this has been asked already, but I'm unable to find on the forum. I have 32bit images and I'm trying to use the Bilateral Blur. Neither the Filter drop down nor the live filter of Bilateral Blur work. I have to convert the image into a 16bit image for the blur to work. Is this on the Affinity Photo team's radar to fix?
  5. Thank you... I follow and thought I'd watched all of Olivio's videos, but definitely missed this one. This is exactly what I was looking for.
  6. Greetings, I'm trying to duplicate a process that I found on a Youtube video on removing white / black specks from an old photo using Undo Brush and snapshots. I'm not able to duplicate and was wondering if anyone can assist. The video can be found at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_jqh7Ixuyp8&list=WL&index=1
  7. Thank you - I'm still having issues after I deselect. I waited ~30 minutes and it never returned. My best option at this point is what 'NotMyFault' suggested by moving focus off the selection brush.
  8. NotMyFault - Thank you for the your response. Switching to the "move tool" did the trick. None of the other suggestions worked for me, but at least I do have a work around now. Affinity Team - While I now have a workaround, please look into this issue. I also experience same issue with the "Levels" adjustment.
  9. After making a selection, I lose all graphical histogram representation in the curves tool. To recreate issue: Open file Make adjustment using Curves (histogram is shown) Create a selection (histogram disappears in Curves adjustment tool. Delete selection and problem still exists Delete previous Curves adjustment and problem still exists. Nothing I do, will bring back the original graphical representation on the Curves tool. 10. I have used PSP since version3 (~18 years)and jumped over to Affinity Photo about 18 months ago and never looked back. Affinity has so much more to offer, but like any software it does take time to learn..
  11. You are welcome, don't give up on Affinity Photo. As I have found many times myself, it's usually user error. 🙂 This forum is a great place to get answers quickly.
  12. Pedro, check your brush settings. I was able to recreate your scenario by lowering the accumulation to 0. Try raising the the value to 100 and see what happens. See attached vid. MaskBug.mp4
  13. Pedro, I'm not having any issues with masking on the file you provided. Maybe, you can show the error by recording your screen as you attempt to paint on the mask? 2021-05-18 09-08-41.mkv
  14. Thanks, I've tried the new stack option but its not able to lock the foreground and comes out blurry. I am working nightscapes, like the milky way with the desert cactus silhouetted in the foreground.
  15. I like to take night photos with features on the horizon. I would like the ability to mask out the horizon so that only the night sky is aligned. Currently, I am using a software called 'Sequator' to align my photos, but this software only provides an single file output. I'd much rather have multiple layers aligned using one of the layers as my base for foreground.
  16. After downloading 1.9.0 & 1.9.1, I reinstalled several macro packs via the account sign in. I noticed that I can no longer edit the macros that are downloaded. The 'Edit' option is available, but when I click the button nothing shows up on the macro tab. This does not happen to the macros that I created or imported. Is this a feature or a bug?
  17. Checking in to see if this issue is still on the radar to be fixed?
  18. I'm experiencing same issue with 1.8.2. I'm using the Extract Detail Macro that Pedro Soares created here: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/36265-extract-detail-macro/&tab=comments#comment-178831 It too uses Vivid Light filter. Works fine on Jpegs, but creates colored artifacts on raw (NEF) files. Problem disappears when I convert to RGB/8 bit.
  19. Same as arkoe. Pixabay and Unsplash work fine for me, but I'm getting 'connection failed' trying to get images from Pexels. Works fine outside of AP.
  20. David - I switched from Corel about a year ago. While the twain support is nice to have, it's not a show stopper and you really should give Affinity Photo a try. I use Epson scanner to scan my photos to tiff and open later in AP for editing. I find this is actually faster for me than using Corel to scan, save and edit later. But, I scan a lot of photo's in, so I usually work in bulk.. I scan 30-40 photos, then work on them for the next couple of weeks.
