  1. bbrother The post you refer to was created after my initial post, so how could I have found it? 😜
  2. Awesome, thanks @loukash !! Works like a charm.
  3. It's also buggy. If you make a few states, close the document. open it again, add more layers and then add another state. the old states will include the new layer(s). when i captured these states this new layer didn't exist, so it should not be included in the state. also, when updating previous states, there is a bug preventing them to hide the new layers added after the state was created. i don't know if i managed to describe this properly, might be better to see a screen capture.
  4. In my workflow I do a fair share of dragging images into my document in affinity photo or designer from the file manager/desktop. The image is then applied in full size which is rarely something i want in an existing document. So I was wondering if there's possible to trigger the "placement" function when you drop a file into an existing document instead?
  5. I love this feature, but in my opinion some things are missing: - You can't rename an item after it's created - You can't reorder the items in the list - The icons on each item are placed so it's easy to mis-click on the update icon instead of apply. My suggestion here would also to be able to double click on an item to trigger "apply".
  6. Thanks again for responding so quickly! This community is awesome!
  7. Yes, but wouldn't it be possible for AP to temporarily rasterise the image when you copy an area from it, so that you could grab it into the clipboard? Instead of manually going through duplicate layer - rasterise layer - copy&paste area and then delete the layer again. EDIT: nevermind, "copy merged" was what i was trying to achieve.
  8. Is there any way to reset the pixel tool to its default settings (affinity photo)? I have changed brush type for this tool and can't get it back to how it originally was (1x1 square). I've created my own square image brush, but it does behave a bit differently than the default one.
  9. Is there any way to copy an area from an image type layer? In the example below I set a selection and using copy&paste. instead of copying the area it duplicates the whole layer. I know that I can rasterise it and then copy&paste, but why not copy directly from an "image"? cucumber.mp4
  10. Thanks a lot for this! I will experiment a bit with this approach
  11. Thanks, I will get back to this next time I need to do some more pixel work with fonts. Also sorry for posting it twice. The first post was in an Affinity V1 feedback thread, which I noticed afterwards, was archived.
  12. there doesn't seem to be any good way to turn off antialiasing for text in affinity. by turning off the antialiasing in the blend mode settings, it just turns the antialiasing into a solid color, useless for fonts. now i must use GIMP to type my text in there and then export the bitmap for use in affinity to achive this. is there a better way?
  13. yes, by turning off the antialiasing in the blend mode settings, it just turns the antialiasing into a solid color, useless for fonts. i have a project where i need to turn off antialiasing for fonts, can't believe this isn't possible. now i must use GIMP to type my text in there and then export the bitmap for use in affinity 🤦‍♂️ seems like such a simple feature
  14. In the assets pane, right click over an asset -> delete asset -> confirm .. app crashes and I get a crash report I can choose to send to Apple. Same happened when I deleted a duplicate brush category.
  15. cheers guys! well, now i know. thanks for helping me out so quickly
  16. thanks for the help, set it to 2 and it works better now - however it still caps off the corners a little further out. noticed i had to set Miter as high as 5 to prevent this issue when really shearing the object a long way. is this expected behaviour?
  17. I can't get this rectangle to retain its corners solid (two corners are getting capped off). Doesn't matter if I convert rectangle to curves either. This happens in Designer 2.2.1 and Photo 2.2.1 Is there a reason for this behaviour other than a bug? rectangle-bug.mp4
  18. thank you, i tried to tweak wet edges etc without any luck, but then i found the solution: i changed "associated tool" to pixel tool and voilá, even though hardness is still 80% it behaves exactly like i want now
  19. I am trying to create a 2x1 pixel brush to work on pixel art which behaves in the same way as the pixel tool, only 2 pixels wide. I'm creating it from a selection of 2 pixels which was drawn using the pixel tool. But it locks on 80% hardness. Do you know how I can achieve my brush goal?
  20. so this is a bug then? i need to create a 100% hardness brush, but this seems not to be possible.
  21. Yass, different distro support is no problem if u make a snappy package, flatpak or appimage. Myself I do prefer the Snappy. It's so simple, and brings several Windows apps to Linux - ready configured with a individual tweaked Wine setup. It's like majic.
  22. Hello all! I love all the Affinity products. Using mainly Photo for web design and modification of photos. However I have switched to Linux now and I can only hope that there will be a compatible version of Affinity Photo sometime.
  23. Agree. Linux has become a mature desktop alternative now. I have myself moved completely away from Windows. The only thing I am missing is a good photoshop alternative. Honestly, that's the ONLY thing now after one year of using only linux and I do love Affinity. I've bought it for Windows (RIP) and iOS. And I'll gladly pay again to get them on Linux. A good approach would be to use the snapcraft package system. That allows companies such as Microsoft, Jetbrains and SERIF to deploy their proprietary software across all linux distros with automatic updates. And it's extremely easy for the end users!
  24. Hi there! I am wondering if Linux support is coming sometime.
