Why is there never a straightforward link to the what's been updated on an app? I see that it leads me here and then I have to click around until I finally get to the release notes. What's wrong with placing the notes inside the new update window when we open the app? Clean this up is my opinion, make lives easier, it will pay off and not frustrate users. Keep up the good work as always.

Yes they were live documents I'd saved before.
No. The only thing which had changed at the time was the Affinity Designer update.

OK. This NOT being able to apply a percentage for a tint of a particular color is crazy. It is SO basic. Why isn' this allowed? I mean, I NEED this ability in my everyday world of CMYK printing. It does me no good to tell Publisher to create cloud chord tints when I need the flexibility of determining my own. There are many times when I need 6% of a solid color or 13%.
Does Affinity plan on changing this? Opacity is NOT the same thing as I need a solid fill for many of the things I do. Yes, I use opacity from time to time, but when I need drop shadows or inner/outer glow effects, I need that object filled with a solid color.
I REALLY want to get away from Adobe's world of greed and drop Indesign, but I have a small list of issues that I'm jotting down that are adding up to our having to swallow the bitter pill of keeping with InDesign, I fear. I bought the Affinity Personas, but I am worried I won't be able to witch over to Affinity full time because of my list.
If anyone hears of anything I may have missed regarding tint flexibility, please shout. Thank you

    It's true.
""separated mode" is a basic apple mac functionality"
I bought Version 1 from the beginning and only use separate mode as a professional grafic designer since 25 years. In the beginning the Affinity programs were mac-like and extremly comfortabel and fast to work. But in version 2 I think Affinity looking only to Windows Users (which I don't mean in a bad way) but under Windows people seem to be used to always working with one window. This has never been the case in the professional Mac environment. That was a decisive advantage for using the screen optimally with several programmes. Unfortunately, this has now been switched off. For whatever reason. This is - in my opinion - one of the biggest mistakes Affinity could have made. I hope they will reconsider and bring back the separate mode. Please, please please ...
I bought the suite version 2 and will not apply for a refund, as Affinty Serif is in my opinion the only company that can finally break the Adobe monopoly. But to simply remove a fundamental Mac functionality with all its advantages I can't understand.

    that is a bulls#@t answer
"separated mode" is a basic apple mac functionality since the beginning. after 30 years of using all my apps without background covering my view of desktop, folders and other windows/apps, please do not tell me you are that vain to call it "specific functionality" and instructing buying customers to downgrade.

3Dshark reacted to norbinw in BUG - Crash when saving from all (!) Affinity programs under Ventura
Honestly, I don't understand why are you guys debating this.. the issue is reported as a known bug, there is no workaround! Export persona is FKD up for some users, because "save as" works fine, every time!. They only issue lies in EXPORT PERSONA! There is nothing you can do, as  OTHER APPS WORK FINE, only Serif apps hang. I have sent tens of bug reports to serif, if they read it, good, if not, the problem will persist in V3 as well. Mine hangs immediately after I press export. I'm not even able to change folders. EVERY TIME. I get 1-2 exports after a hang, and loop.
Started in 2021 in V1, reported it, continued in 2022, now in V2. WTF should I do? I invested time and money in Serif.. And no solution was given.
We have in common external SSD's and cloud drives, even tho we are not exporting to them! I have tried everything. At least in V1 after 2 crashes, it worked fine afterwards until an OS reboot. But V2 just loops the crash!

    @zuzi
I found PackZview that do separation preview and more on PDF like Acrobat pro. It still free but for how long because it's so good. A separation Preview in Publisher is a good idea for preflight BUT it's often the export to PDF that mess the thing. You have to keep the same color profil along every file you use or import in your publisher. Then in export keep the same profil. If you change your profil at export your color will be "destroyed"  I also use PDFX 3 and 4 to keep my black "BLACK" and Pantone when needed. Having 100% black in Affinity suite is a nightmare and should always be checked when going on offset press.

I love that you can modify the shortcuts, especially if you're migrating from another product!
There can often be rather a lot of whitespace between what you're modifying and the shortcut, and they can look similar. I appreciate that this follows the same order as within the menus, but it doesn't need to be.

If the shortcut modifier was moved to the left then there's less white space to navigate.
It would also be really handy if the search function picked up the shortcuts, rather than having to navigate through lists!

Hi Beacon, I've been using Designer for a few years now. It's great that Publisher has finally been released. It was a bit of a learning curve as I'd been using Adobe software for decades (since 1992). I was an early adopter of InDesign (CS1) over Quark so have been through this process already. There were a few mental leaps to me made on the Affinity way of working, but after taking the plunge on a couple of live projects it's now become as second nature as Creative Suite was. Some things are easier, some things are counter-intuative at first (personally I feel the whole colour system needs a bit of a review). It's well worth the initial pain, plus no subscription. The nice thing is that Affinity do seem to listen to their users, and the forum is friendly and supportive. Good luck with your switch over!

You may find Tints as slider or numerical value in the Colours Panel's burger menu.
There you also can add auto-created tint swatches.

The explanation for this is the new implementation of the superscript and subscript function. Have a look here:
    https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/67116-superscript-and-subscript/&tab=comments#comment-347521
You will always have to use Character Panel > Positioning and Transform > Superscript to have “fake” superscripts when the respective glyphs are not in the font. The standard Arial typeface that comes with macOS doesn’t have them.
    Cheers, Alex

Possibly a known font issue in Affinity with some old Postscript font files. As a workaround you could try to convert text to curves, either on export as setting in the More options or, if this doesn't prevent the error message, before export of the according text frames within your document.

3Dshark reacted to fde101 in Disable the purple / magenta outline of the object you've just been working on
To further clarify, that outline shows that the object has been added to the list of snapping candidates and that as you are moving objects around with snapping enabled they will snap to that object.  This method of handling snapping reduces the workload on the program in determining what things can snap to, as if you had it checking thousands of objects every time the mouse moved performance would obviously suffer somewhat (not to mention you would be snapping to every little detail on the page, which could be rather annoying).
