Hello,
I am a book author an currently working on the second edition. The main file is an adobe indesign file. Some month ago I tried to import the file into Affinity Publisher. This worked fine, except the index. Is it now possible to import the index as well?
Thx,
Jens

Now I got it. I thought you show in this video how to make the shortcut. But you just show how to use it. Finally, I was able to reproduce the shortcut, now it works. Thanks Paul!

@ErrkaPetti if you are unable to open Cecil's shortcut you can easily replicate it. Here is a short video showing how to do it.
This does not work for me. Nothing happens when using this Shortcut as described by DM1. By the way, this shortcut look completely different that the downloadable one posted above: „Open Shortcut input in Photo“ vs „Open file in Photo“. -
No idea what you are doing there. Why do you check exif data?

You get the Untitled.jpg option if you go straight to Export without going back to document screen within Photo. If after doing your adjustments you switch to the document screen, the app will then apply the original filename to the working file. If you then tap and reopen and then use Export it will have the original filename. Not an ideal workflow at the moment,
It has been raised before and I believe it is logged with the developers to see if any improvements to this process can be made but until I'm back in the office I can't say for sure.
Old thread, but the problem still exists. I cannot verify your explanation. All my imported files always have the file name „untitled“, no matter what I do. The export/save/save as procedure in Affinity has the urgent need for improvement, guys!

Unfortunately, when I export a developed RAW file to jpg by sharing it into my pictures on my iPad, the file does not have the file name I selected (Affinity.jpg), but an obviously random file name IMG_xxxx.jpg. The file name is only correct when I share it to my files and not to my pictures.

Hello,
a great improvement, especially for the development persona, would be the way of fine tuning the controller position similar to the app RAW Power. Whenever you move your fingers or the pencil slightly below the controller, it moves much slower when you move to the left or right. In this way, you can adjust the position of the controller much more accurately.

Problem still there with iOS 13.2.3. I am quite sure it is a Affinity Bug rather than a iOS related bug.
-
Same problem here with iPad pro 2018 10.5" with iOS 13.2.
All file icons for the .aphoto files in the Affinity Photo folder are white. When I click on them, the preview is still empty (white). When I copy them to the icloud drive, the icon changes to the "Affinity Icon", still no "preview icon". But now I can click and preview the file.

Bump. The final version of Affinity Photo 1.7 is the first one where I can see a very slight text when I use the above posted macro. However, we are still far away from the original look in versions 1.6.x. Is there any chance to get the old 1.6 macros working in 1.7 or should we start to re-work them with 1.7?

Just tried again. It works, but only with your pre-defined 98%. When I enter any other number directly into the field which pops up after starting the macro, nothing changes. It only works when I pull the slider with the mouse. But this is not accurate enough (I think the macro takes into account your calculated 98,431%, although only 98% is shown).
However, your macro seems to be the perfect solution for me, if only I could change the 98% to different numbers, and I need it also for other colors.
Could you explain the single steps to create this macro? Obviously, you did not do it via "Select/Select Sampled Color...".

Can you upload a sample image.
My fluorescence microscope is stored in the garden shed at the moment and it's raining.
Thanks carl123 for this valuable posting. I assume your other 2296 postings are of similar meaningfullness.

Here's a macro: Select pixels above some red threshold.afmacro
Select a Pixel object then run the macro. If another type of object is selected then it will be rasterised at the beginning of the macro. The red threshold defaults to 98.431%, which was set by entering "251/2.55" (without quotes) in the percentage field of a Threshold Adjustment when recording the macro.
Thanks for sharing your idea. Unfortunately, this is not accurate enough. With a threshold of 94%, only pixels with a red value of 255 are selected. With 93%, pixels with red values >237 are selected.

Hello,
is there any possibility to select pixels with specific RGB values in Affinity Photo?
For example, in an picture from a fluorescence microscope, I would like to select all pixels with RED values >251.
I already tried with mask followed by a brush with different red values, but this did not work.
Unfortunateloy, with "Select/Color Range/Red" I cannot define the minimum red level of the selection. Seems to be a fixed value.
Any idea?
Regards,
Jens

Obviously, macros from version 1.6 do not work with 1.7. Also discussed here:

Unfortunately, no solution from the developers yet. It's a pity.

Your camera model is not listed as supported by Apple’s raw decoder. Apple do update frequently so keep checking.
You made my day, DM1 from Down Under :-). It works perfectly with files from the OMD E-M1. The files from OMD E-M1X cannot be imported, even not with the very recent iOS update 12.2. I hope there will be a minor update soon which solves this issue.
Cheers,
Jens

Good point, thanks for that. I tried it with an ORF file from the brand new Olympus OMD E-M1X, which is not supported yet. Maybe that's the problem. I will try with another ORF file in the evening and let you know.

I believe the cheap Chinese card readers allow files to be accessed by their 'reader' app and then shared with apps like Affinity (unlike the Apple card reader).
Unfortunately, this doesnt work for me. I have the following RAVPower device:
https://www.amazon.de/RAVPower-kabelloser-Kartenleser-Zusatzakku-Festplatten/dp/B00VUGUPH6/
And I did not find an easy way to import my Olympus RAW (*.ORF) files from either an inserted SD card or a connected USB harddrive. Although there is the option to open an ORF file via the provided RAVPower "FileHUB" app with affinity, affinity crashes without an error message (it simply closes).
Urgently waiting for a solution. iCloud is not an option since I am often on travel where I dont have an internet connection. Any ideas?

Depending on what the macro does can you not incorporate it (add it) into the File > New Batch Job screen?
Currently, this seems to be the only solution. I will try that.

Depending on your needs, File > Export might save you some time. The Export Persona is more about slicing an image into pieces to export separately, or exporting multiple sizes of a single image in one operation.
That's exactly the way I do it. However, when I open >10 files in order to insert my copyright logo via a macro, it is not relly convenient to click >10 times file, export, etc etc. The saving procedure takes much longer than the real work on the files. The exporting procedure is currently an absolute no-go for me. Is there really no solution for that issue?
-
Exporting each single opened file is really cumbersome. I was searching for a solution for that, thinking that there must be one, and came accross this thread. Come on, developers/support/moderators. Is there really no option for exporting all opened files in a row with a few mouse klicks? What is the export persona good for? When I have several files opened and switch to the export persona in order to define the exact export parameters and switch then to the next file, I am I am bounced back into the another persona and have to repeat everything for the second file. Same is true for the next 23 files. "§$%&/()'#=(/*+&%$§%&/()=??

Ok, here is the whole package (brushes, macros, example pics [pre & post]). The macros only work correctly if the layer is named "Hintergrund". The macro called "Jens Hartmann Photography 1.7" works for landscape format, the "Jens Tangerine V.1.7 hochformat" for vertical format. The third one produces only the frame, without text. However, since Version 1.7., all 3 produce only the frame without any text.
Thx for your help.
Btw: Any idea how I can get the macro to work independently from the layer name?
