  1. Thank you for the quick responses. What I cannot find is a setting in preferences which allows me to specify a drive other than the 'primary' one, i.e., %USERPROFILE% which, by default, is the drive on which Windows has been installed.
  2. It would appear that Photo uses the %userprofile%\.affinity for storing data when the memory limit is reached. Is there a way of changing this location as I would prefer to have that data store on a different -faster- disk. I suppose I could use a symbolic directory link, but do not really wish to do so.
  3. opened RAW file (from Nkon D7200) and tried to adjust photo using the gradient tool. the moment I dragged the tool from top of photo, Affinity Photo crashed. Log files attached ipc.log Log.txt
  4. Having complained about the performance of the first release of AP2, it is only fair to state that the update to AP2 is much, much faster! Thank you very much
  5. Thank you! In my case I am using Affinity Photo (AP), so not seeing quite the same behaviour as you, I think. What I have found is that loading the image (NEF of 28MB or so) is not where time is being spent as the I/O to disk is almost 0; it is CPU time which is being spent. As I mentioned, once the phot has been loaded, and I have panoramas with up to 10 photos, the processing is faster than in V1 for which I am very grateful!
  6. Having also noted that load performance in V2 is very slow, I have to add that, once an image (RAW) is loaded, the processing time in V2 is equal and often better than in V1. So, thank you Affinity for getting that nit right!
  7. Same story here whereby the difference is more like 4-5 times slower! Measured on same PC, same photo (.NEF with 28MB)
  8. Wish I had a solution! The difference between V1 and V2 for loading a NEF of ca. 28MB is around 5 times slower for V2. It's a shame as the product is so brilliant and such amazing value for money. I have followed the suggestions above and am using the same settings for V1 and V2, running on the exact same configuration, of course.
  9. Is there a method to set the Kelvin temperature rather than using the sliders?
  10. John Apps, very new to Affinity Photo, loving what I've seen so far. Running the latest version on WIndows 10 and having the odd problem interpreting the key strokes in the tutorials, which appear to have been recorded on an Apple, to Windows. For example: <shift><home> does not work on a standard Windows keyboard as far as I can tell. I shall persevere as this is not a stumbling block and will get resolved. Camera is a Nikon D7100 with an assortment of lenses. I shoot mainly in RAW format and have to learn how Affinity Photo deals with that format as, so far, JPG appears to be easier to use. Great software for an amazing price! I am looking forward to reading and seeing what others are doing. Cheers, John
