Tracing will come in the future - but it will be a new 'Persona' (one of the main buttons along the top left of the window) so that it can have its own UI and tools. We have a fair few ideas for this - not just the obvious... :)  It's not coming any time soon though, I'm afraid to say...

maybe I'm missing it, but is there an option to open a JPEG, or bitmap image
and trace,or convert it to a vector file for further editing? If not there should be one, it would be a great option. even if it had only a few modes like black and white, and 5 color
it would make me convince me to convert from adobe illustrator

No, not yet. The latest Beta introduced several new features that were already planned too (some still being worked/developed for the next Beta) and there wasn't yet time to start working on this one. The development team is relatively small so those things take time, but we will get there.

ok, thanks for your answer! I just bought Affinity Designer more because I like the potential it has... But not having features likes that makes it unusable in working-production. Maybe you should add something like that before adding other new cool features ;) 

It would be very useful to have functions to select the same:
 
Color fill stroke (color / width) Appearance To quickly select all your outlines, or background element in 1 color. 
Speed is everything.  :)
