Since updating to Affinity 2.2.1 any file save as a template will not open saying that I do not have permission to open them Mac OS Sonoma 14.1. Will open any other file except templates. Have created a new file in Photo and exported it as a template to my desktop. Have tried to open it will all the Affinity Software but it will not let me saying that I do not have permission... Can anyone please help as I have very many file saved as templates.

No Walt it doesn't. Have just tried that. Other templates eg. Excel, Word etc are ok. If I create a new file in Affinity Photo and export it as a template and save it on the desk top, whenever I go to open the new saved file fron the desktop it wont let me. Seems to be only files ending in .aftemplate are affected.

Have seem to cured the problem. When I created a new section in section manager, the box "show on export was not ticked" for each section. Eg if there were 3 sections and only 2 were checked as show on export then only two pages would print. By not creating section manger item it seems to have cured the freeze when exporting. Cheers all and thanks for your input.

Yes this is exactly what’s happening. It’s very infuriating especially if you have quite a number of pages. The application hangs and sometimes have to reboot. I hope this is sorted as it defeats the purpose of a publishing software if you can’t export to a PDF which is one of the basic functions in any software. I hope the developers read the posts in this forum. This has a negative impact on what is a great software program.

I know there is no way to navigate the layers panel without clicking and Affinity have not added this feature. I have found a work around that may suit you. In Affinity Photo preferences you can change the keyboard shortcuts to facilitate this to use the up, down, arrow keys. It can be set using a modifier key (I have used the Cmd key as it does not interfere with any other option. It is very useful when you get used to it. See image attached. You have to set it again in preferences for Designer and Publisher but it does work. Hope this helps.

Cheers Dan. Appreciate your help. Have been with Photoshop since 2003 and this year 2021 have made the transgression to Affinity Suite. Learning curve not difficult at all. Saving me a small fortune. By the way is there any sign of dragging image to another open tab. Once again thanks for your response. Regards -
