  1. I use DXO photlab also and DXO viewpoint which integrates into it and is pretty much the same as ink perspective in my experience.
  2. I was hoping it would be fixed as well. It really does make things annoying and slows you down.
  3. I hope so too, it’s a small thing but some clients have very particular needs and having to manually set them up each time is a drag to say the least!
  4. I think, if possible, the solution would be a new epub persona in Publisher that could be linked to the current document and update along with it. You could make text edits for example in the main document and the epub would update as well but keep all the particular epbub standard characteristics somehow. Not a programmer, just a user who has no idea how complicated all that would be. It would be a time saving option that I don't think anyone else offers. Kind of like the book option now or even integrated with that. Epub is one Publisher feature I could use for sure so any easy stable implementation of that would be awesome.
  5. I use that for many photos but these other tools are much more accurate and powerful especially with more extreme distortion.
  6. I love the plugins too and have used them for a long time. For perspective stuff I have been using the viewpoint plugging in dxo photolab, but it would be great not to have to leave A photo to do that.
  7. I wonder if Nik perspective will work within affinity photo now as a plug-in. This has some nice updates but while I like DXO products they make incremental upgrades not worth and upgrade price too often. I might wait until 7 unless I find myself flush with extra cash somehow.
  8. Looking forward to the update! The Publisher beta handled some problems I has having and now I hope delete the V1 affinity suite, I have been saving them "just in case".
  9. I am on V5 and not having this issue at all on my iMac so it might take the update to fix it sadly.
  10. I would but I over wrote it by mistake when I made the new one. If it comes up again I will be more careful.
  11. I would guess this is because the older version is not compatible with the release candidate 1 update but thought it might be a good idea to point it out. I got a message saying the file could not be read, I made a new one and it works fine now. I hope the final release will read the beta release files, but if not, at least it is fast to make a new one.
  12. Good point too, I should have mentioned that. That would be a nice addition to A-photo.
  13. Tools like sharpening etc is something we could want easily to be included in future Affinity updates. I do a lotto old photo restoration and while these tools can have variable quality they can do a lot to making some photos usable or retired in a way manually is impossible so I am all for it. It's the AI creating the whole photo or illustration I think is the wrong use for the technology.
  14. I would ask what you mean by AI. I’m sue the topic AI photo app and plugin to denoise and sharpen and it doesn’t destroy my creativity. AI art creation is another story to me, it might be fun to play with but in my testing of it it does nothing to help me create art as Westerwalder might agree with. So for me as aid to make some tools more powerful I am for it but not for much else. Some of the stuff Adobe is doing like using it to make graphic fonts is an interesting idea but I also have the feeling they would all look very similar very quickly.
  15. For the few times I need superscript it’s not a problem for now. I also have been looking through font that are compatible with the desktop and the iPad so that match up when I work away from the studio. It’s a slow process but in the end I will be much more flexible where I can work.
  16. That explains a lot! Particularly why it worked before and not now. I will have to keep this in mind as the font is the primary one for one of my bigger clients now. They wanted everything in Baskerville for the previous 17 years so this will likely be what they keep for a while. merci!
  17. I changed nd (2nd) to st (1st). Seemed weird it was fine when I opened the old file.
  18. Thing is, it had superscript for this font pre V2. What I did was highlight the superscript there already and typed in the new text and it worked. Clicking the superscript button didn’t. I will check out which version of the font I am using since it probably is the one that Apple provided. Weird that there was no problem last year using the same font though!
  19. I recently had to change some test on an old poster that used subscript. It looked and worked fine in the poster until I modified the text. Then the superscript would not work at all. I am wondering if this is a common problem. I had the same issue in the beta version. The font was Helvetica Neue with I use all the time so I don't think the font is the problem.
  20. Does this happen with multiple PDF documents, or only one? only multi page PDFS Does this happen in a new Publisher document, or only in the existing file? both Are you placing the same multi-page PDF multiple times through your Publisher file, selecting a different display page for each placed version, or are you placing different multi-page PDF documents throughout your file when the app freezes? That is exactly what I am doing. What version of macOS are you running? 13.3.1 (22E261) Do you see a crash report or error message on screen when the app freezes/closes? nope, no reports. Tanks for looking into it.I haven't had a chance to test the beta with this yet.
  21. Placing a multi page PDF will suddenly freeze Publisher 2, usually after a few pages have been placed. I can quit or force quit, reopen, save and continue. It will often freeze again and I have to quit or force quit and reopen again. The saved backup file does prevent me from having to start from scratch. This has only recently appeared the last 2 days. It could be Apple's latest updates are causing the issue or something else. I do save often which also reduces loss of my work.
  22. Thanks I will try that. For some reason that seemed too easy to be true. I will do some testing later today!
  23. I hope I can phrase this right. It is dead easy to set up a TOC with chapter titles, but what if you want the title and a summery or something under it in the TOC? Is this possible? I have been doing a series of books of science publications and they would like the title but also a list of the contributors under the title in the TOC. I can see other uses if this is possible. For now I have been doing it all by hand. Slowly. I have t move chapters around as new studies get printed so auto updating would save a lot time. Here is a sample from the latest TOC. I get it that it might too much to do automatically.
  24. Good work. To get these styles right is much harder than anyone thinks when they decide to try it out! There so many subtle details that can make it work… or not!
  25. https://www.hamrick.com/vuescan/epson_l3200.html This the company I bought the new driver from. I think they do drivers for other scanners as well, but I didn’t look deeply into it. It’s not cheap but it worked for me and I can move on with my work.
