  1. I did not know I have the same issue until I read this thread. I am on iOS 11 beta 5, and the latest AP update. I have processed maybe 200 raw files using AP and exporting to my iPad storage. Here is my storage situation: App size 976 MB Documents and Data 15.4 GB. I have deleted all processed photos that is shown on the front page of AP. So there should not be any Documents and data. I do have a few save a copy files, I do not know where they are and how to delete them, but it should not be 15GB. so, yes there is a storage problem with AP. I also noticed that when I was processing the photos, the documents and date show over 40 GB. I do not encounter any crashes while developing my 200 photos. Maybe it is because I have 256GB of storage.
  2. I reviewed my processed photos, same IQ before or after export. When you are processing, view the image in 100% or 200%. At least the image should be sharp in 100% view. If not, try to increase the clarity slider (in delevelop persona) to see if it helps, otherwise your photo may not be sharp to start with.
  3. Thanks. Also, the time to generate export is now much much longer, even the file size is less than 10 mb. Previous version is much faster. Edit. Sorry I was wrong. It was trying to export a large .png file. Jpeg is okay.
  4. I updated AP today to 1.6.4.51. Loaded a raw file, edit some and develop. Once developed, I cannot go back since the history bar does not show previous steps. I do not recall that being the case before I updated. How do I go back to previous built?
  5. The problem in working with iCloud is that AP opens the file in photo persona with meta date showing file size same as raw. Not sure if you are editing the actual raw file or the converted jpeg file or the original jpeg file from iPad photo import. Is there any way that AP can opened the iCloud file in develop persona?
  6. Here is what I found recently and this is what my workflow is made up of. 1. Import to iPad photo app with sd camera card reader. I am using iPad Pro 10.5 and iOS 11 beta. The pohotos are imported automatically, I.e, the photo app opens up, and all you need to do is to hit the import all button. Takes 1 or 2 minutes to import 200 photos. 2. Not sure if you require ios11, but raw and jpeg are imported, although you will not see it in photo app. But apps like LR lite and Afinity Photo will show the raw files. 3. I opened a raw file with AP, do my usual edit, but cannot save the edit steps for another photo (maybe future updates ?). The metadata shows a file size of 1920x1280, but I got confirmation from moderator Lee that it is the jpeg file size, not the raw file size, and future update will fix this. 4. To save my final processed photo, I export, share, save to file, ok, choose which file to save to (as shown in the new file app, which is in ios11). I created a directory before hand , not sure if you can create it on the fly. So all in all, not too bad for the effort in this work flow. But, and a big but, the file name of the photo (supposed to be DSCF1234) is lost. You end up with a name like “untitled.jpg”. You can edit the name before or after you save it. If you use icloud, you have to send the photos from iPad photo app to your iOS drive (in ios11 it is in file app). AP will open the file, but it looks like it is jpeg although the file size is same as the raw file. So not sue what you have here, raw or jpeg. But, the file name of DSCF1234 is retained when you try to save it. This method requires you to have wifi on to work with iCloud. This is what I have experienced so far, and I am processing the raw files while I am on vacation away from my desktop. It is definitely worth the $30 for the good use of time while away.
  7. Thanks Lee for the clarification. I cannot work with step 4 as my work flow. When I export the finished work, it gives a name of untitled.jpg. I want to work with a raw file, so I cannot work with step 3, although exported file does give me the correct file name. I tried many ways to export raw file from camera roll to iCloud, I tried to follow MEB’ instruction regarding unchecking “optimized iPad storage”. But such option is not in my iPad Pro running ios11 beta4, and I did try different options in settings, and they seem to make no difference. Is this a problem with ios11 beta4? If I use LR LITE to import a file from camera roll, I get the right file size and right file name. AP cannot do the same. Are AP developers working on this issue?
  8. I asked this question on another thread, but did not get an answer. So I will ask again giving more details. 1. I imported a photo into IOS 11 camera roll on my iPad Pro 10.5 (using the Apple sd card reader). The photo was taken with Fuji x-E1 set for raw+jpeg. 2. I exported this photo to iCloud. The transfer shows jpeg being transferred and the file size is 7.1mb. The raw file is not visible anywhere. 3. I opened AP and import this file via iCloud file. Meta data shows file size to be 25mb in photo persona, not develop persona. So, the file size matches the raw file, but develop persona is not activated. 4. I opened AP and imported the same photo as in step 1 from camera roll. AP opened it with develop persona, but the meta data shows a file size of 1920x1280 (2.5mb), much smaller than the regular jpeg file size of 7.1mb. Am I working with a raw file in step 3? Am I working with a jpeg file in step 4? I spent 2 days trying searching for answers. Can I get some answers from Moderators or someone who knows what is going on? TIA
  9. I tried both PhotoFast One and Readdle, both just copied The file to iCloud Drive. In AP, opened it, but does not show it is raw. I think it is jpeg.
  10. Thanks. I transferred a test photo (imported into photo) to iCloud Drive. Opened it in AP, it shows the correct file size, 4892x3264. But AP does not show “raw” . Export shows original file name. If I open the same file from “import from photo” , AP shows “raw” file, but the file size is 1920x1280, and no original file name in export. Please explain the difference and which one I should develop if I want to work on the raw file. Thanks.
  11. How do I get AP to show the original file name in matadata? When I try to save a jpeg, it is always “untitled.jpg”. If I use LR lite, it does show the original file name as DSCF1234.jpg
  12. Previous post said AP cannot do compressed raw. Is yours compressed?
  13. I just found out last night that I can connect iPad Pro to my pc's in my home LAN, using Readdle or FileExplorer (both app are free from App Store). I can download the photos to iPad Pro and the transfer is quite fast. Click nearby and choose which pc. Once they are in the download documents of Readdle or FE, just open the raw photo and hit share to AP and edit away as usual. Unfortunately, getting the edited file back to pc is still the same export and save routine. This way, you do not have to copy to sd card.
  14. Thanks. That what I discovered too. Hope ios11 will work better.
  15. Paul, you thanked the wrong person. I assume all photos is the same as camera roll where I can see my exported photo. But I want to export it to a folder I created.
  16. I created an album "photos-processed" and followed your instruction, but the processed photo was saved to camera roll. How do I save it to my Photo-processed album? I am on IOS 10.3.3 (I cannot use IOS11 yet, as my Linux desktop cannot communicate to it).
  17. I can still see the camera roll, recently added, etc. Maybe you should delete AP and re-install.
  18. I got it. Just open a new project and rename it to any name and then transfer photos into it. However, I cannot import photos into this folder using the apple sd card reader which only imports photos to camera roll. Any ideas on how to import directly into this new folder?
  19. How do you do it. I do not see any options, only Camera Roll, Favorites, Recently added, selfies, screenshots, snapseed (which I have on ly ipad pro). Some instructions is appreciated, Thanks.
  20. I loaded a raw file taken with my Fuji X-E1. The metadata studio shows 1920x1280, consistent with everyone is saying here. However, after it is developed, and saved, (move back to the top page), the saved developed file shows 4896x3264. I suspect that the metadata studio is just showing wrong data.
  21. Just installed AP on my new iPad Pro. Scroll thru this thread fast, but I did not see any mention of using these NIK on iOS. Am I correct that iOS cannot use them?
  22. +1 I surely hope AP will consider improving this short coming
  23. I bought it today on impulse, since the 30% sale ends tomorrow. (I have not received the new iPad yet) I did not realize that raw development is destructive. Good thing is that it is like pocket change compared to others. I hope it is a lot better than Snapseed which is free.
  24. Is there a free trial period before I commit to the purchase? Is the pc version for Windows only? Is there a version for Debian ?
