Hi, I'm Gregg. I am new to DrawPlus. I've looked  at it for a few years but always decided against it because it was Windows based. I've have always had Parallels installed on my iMac but thought using software more native to the Mac (a lot more efficient to use). I am retired and  dabble in art. My favorite software has been Sketchbook Pro and ArtRage. As for Vector programs for the Mac, they are limited. I have and used iDraw and Artboard. Both have their pluses and minus. So, a couple of days ago I decided to dip my toes in the water and bought DrawPlus 5 to see if I really like working with it on Parallels. I knew from previous experience that it was a really good program that fit in with what I like to do. I made my first entry in the DrawPlus forum and was told about DrawPlus (Beta) on the Mac. I've beta tested for a couple of CADD program and thought this would be fun. I'm looking forward to this program because the Mac needs a really good vector drawing program like DrawPlus.

DennisPoide reacted to Patrick Connor in Affinity Designer for Windows Update 1.5.1 Available
We are pleased to announce the first update for Affinity Designer for Windows (version 1.5.1).

The update is described here and can be downloaded from here. Once downloaded, close Affinity Designer and run (double click) the downloaded EXE to install it.

To install this version you will need to have the Affinity Designer for Windows already installed OR you will need to type in your email address and a valid Product key when prompted. When installing on top of an existing version you will not be prompted for the product key. If you need it you can find your product key (and a download button) in your Affinity store account, where you will also find the email address used to generate the key when you ordered the software.

If you have installed any previous beta version of Affinity Designer 1.5.0 or 1.5.1, it can be safely uninstalled before or after installing this release update, they are independent installs. The beta will stop working soon anyway.

Please report any problems you have installing or using this new version in the Windows forum here

Could you add the ability to stack effects? For example I would like to add to a one shape two outer shadows but with different colours and options like opacity so that they "intertwine" one through another.

ENORMOUS KUDOS (yes, I'm shouting, the occasion needs it ! )   to Affinitytutorials and Affinity Jack.

That all is way beyond amazing. This is how you help an extremely good and smart suite of applications in growing and spreading.

That story reminds me a real lot -even a bit painfully-   to certain LOVABLE meetings with a bunch of illustrators which I deeply -very much-  respected, loved and for whom had (have) great admiration (they admired me too, huh... :D), in my country. It was not as organized and well driven as yours, but was really good, too. We also met in an online community and from there went to also expand it offline. At some point the community broke, mainly as the site, which was the central nerve of communication kind of got broken. I had to cease all activities too, due to life duties. But I am aware several of the most solid friendships from there yet stand today, very current. So, I guess, a pair of applications or as was our case, the joy that certain activity (illustration, photography, design, etd) gives you (or simply the joint for sharing same freelance profession) can go a long way, even if just started on inet (I always value higher direct RL relations, but it's became clear to me that internet "can" be a good way to start really good stuff. Hey, not all has to be bad or crappy on the internet....)

Great kudos, I had no idea this all existed...  And long life to it !

Affinity Designer 1.6.0 update now available on the Mac App Store

Affinity Designer 1.5.5 update now available on the Mac App Store

    Fixes include
Reduce unwanted screen updates that caused visual artefacts when moving artboards around. Resolved issue with pixel layers inside symbols which are then transformed. Controversial change to pixel documents: 100% view now maps document pixels directly to screen pixels. If you have a retina Mac you will now see 100% view showing a pixel in the document on each pixel on your display. Wireframe view mode now allows the user to select locked items by click or marquee. Basically, if you're in wireframe view and you can see it, you can now click it to select it. This makes wireframe view much more useful for toggling on/off to select specific items in the document. With rulers visible and a high-frequency input device such as a pen tablet (or a mouse in macOS Sierra) the rulers would make the document update very slowly, this has been resolved. SVG export of gradients is now more compatible with QuickLook. Stability fixes for text. Fixed bug applying OpenType contextual rules. Fix for crashes with 32bit documents on Lion and Mountain Lion. Fix for right-clicking a text object in the Text tool failing to select the current word if the user is over the caret. Improved PSD import/export of HSL adjustments. Improved PSD import of fill layers with empty stroke masks and also parse line origination data. Import badly-formed PSD files created by Marmoset. Fix for occasional crash with embedded documents. PDF export fix for Overprint flag which was not getting unset at certain times, leading to items unintentionally overprinting. Fix for system chime noise when holding Cmd+Alt+Space. Fix for layers panel showing incorrect document information when changing from Separated window mode to normal mode if multiple documents are open. Fix for some images opening and saying they are 1dpi. Numerous other stability improvements and fixes.
    Many thanks,
    Team Affinity

DennisPoide reacted to WeiPhotoArts in Affinity Photo UI Personalization
Has there been any serious thought to provide users with personalizing their UI. For example I’ve been trying to use Photo for B&W conversions and tonality changes. The Adjustments tab provides 22 possible adjustments, but I hardly use any of them, and definitely not in the order the UI provides.
Software is getting more personal, and it would be effective for me to be able to choose which Adjustments I want, and in what order for a palette. Perhaps I could have a B&W Palette of Adjustments, as well as a Landscape Palette of adjustments for color.

This suggested also applies to the Develop module. I know I can move around the palette tabs, but it is within each tab that I’m suggesting personalizing.

    Hi,

It's probably a font issue. When converting the PDF to a Doc file using the online Nitro converter, the font is replaced, probably because the original font cannot be found. Since the document has been created with Affinity Designer, it probably uses a font installed by Affinity Designer.

    My two cents...
