I have an iPad mini 5 and an iPad Pro 12”. At both devices I use the pen (1e gen). At the iPad mini I draw mostly a quick sketch or a part of a drawing when I’m on the road. I put all the files made in Affinity at the iCloud so I can always load them at any device. 

Thanks for the video Paul! I never worked with the pen tool and this is very helpful!

You can set the width of any line using the pen tool width, including a circle.

Still learning AP at the iPad and I discover a lot! But there are so many questions......
Anyway, sometimes a question solves itself by working and playing and if not, I'll search at this forum or I'll ask you guys. This fractal was a study to see what is possible with AP. I did figured out how to work with rectangle tools and the layers but not how to rotate and resize my layer in % so I did every layer with assessment. (At the iMac it is cntr/alt/cmd + T and set the % of height and rotation.)
The result:

WoW, this was what I'm looking for, for several hours.....
I tapped and clicked everywere but not at the word Pixel.
Now I'm happy again and will go on with my drawings at the iPad Pro 12,9"
As I'm new to AP, I had to figure out a lot and always thinking what's that called or placed in Photoshop? (iMac)
Now I have been working several hours at the iPad and the AP becomes a kind of "homecoming" to me.
I'm very pleased, you did a great job with this app.

Very nicely done! Good touches all around like the sky gradient, glowing/showcasing around your heron, the plant with blossoms in front, the choice of gray for the water. Really calming to look at.  :)
