AddieDRoli reacted to GRScott in Introduce Yourself
Hi, I'm Gregg. I am new to DrawPlus. I've looked at it for a few years but always decided against it because it was Windows based. I've have always had Parallels installed on my iMac but thought using software more native to the Mac (a lot more efficient to use). I am retired and dabble in art. My favorite software has been Sketchbook Pro and ArtRage. As for Vector programs for the Mac, they are limited. I have and used iDraw and Artboard. Both have their pluses and minus. So, a couple of days ago I decided to dip my toes in the water and bought DrawPlus 5 to see if I really like working with it on Parallels. I knew from previous experience that it was a really good program that fit in with what I like to do. I made my first entry in the DrawPlus forum and was told about DrawPlus (Beta) on the Mac. I've beta tested for a couple of CADD program and thought this would be fun. I'm looking forward to this program because the Mac needs a really good vector drawing program like DrawPlus.

AddieDRoli reacted to Samoreen in Keyboard Shortcuts Cheat Sheet for Affinity Tools!
Hi,
It's probably a font issue. When converting the PDF to a Doc file using the online Nitro converter, the font is replaced, probably because the original font cannot be found. Since the document has been created with Affinity Designer, it probably uses a font installed by Affinity Designer.
My two cents...

AddieDRoli reacted to SrPx in Affinity Designer for Windows has launched!
The card definitely has its impact. But I have realized the way it is perceived depends on each individual, and also, in the planned usage for the tool.
Illustrator is really, really good. Expecting anything to beat Illustrator might be a stretch. If anything, I would say that Affinity Designer is quite more intuitive /easier to learn for new users (and quite a number of pros) than Illustrator, by far. And yeah, that can be indeed absolutely key. Affinity Designer is very good, and has an extremely good price/purchase option. (and even more considering the other options in the market...)
I would recommend installing a graphics card in your laptop, if that's possible. (one that is supported by it, of course). A powerful average but modern one would be desirable. I for one I can handle stuff with very low performance, as I kind of use many tricks. I have seen many artist colleagues doing this as well. But that path is not for everyone...
If you have a powerful PC or Mac with a normal graphic card in it, I'd recommend that for a better experience.
1.6 is going to be very good. I'd recommend to stay tuned, DEFINITELY. :)

AddieDRoli reacted to Patrick Connor in Affinity Designer for Windows Update 1.5.1 Available
We are pleased to announce the first update for Affinity Designer for Windows (version 1.5.1).
The update is described here and can be downloaded from here. Once downloaded, close Affinity Designer and run (double click) the downloaded EXE to install it.
To install this version you will need to have the Affinity Designer for Windows already installed OR you will need to type in your email address and a valid Product key when prompted. When installing on top of an existing version you will not be prompted for the product key. If you need it you can find your product key (and a download button) in your Affinity store account, where you will also find the email address used to generate the key when you ordered the software.
If you have installed any previous beta version of Affinity Designer 1.5.0 or 1.5.1, it can be safely uninstalled before or after installing this release update, they are independent installs. The beta will stop working soon anyway.
Please report any problems you have installing or using this new version in the Windows forum here

AddieDRoli reacted to deeds in Keyboard Shortcuts Cheat Sheet for Affinity Tools!
Some programs, if they were really smart, might go into a sort of "screen saver" all of their own, that perhaps floated around an image of something like this, with all the shortcuts in each different mode, and the modes selectable, so that the shortcut icons on the keys could be shown LARGE, for easy recognition.
The real dream would be having a visual cue sheet of the shortcuts on an iPad next to the computer, and pressing on them at any time to select the desired item, and it flashing up a keyboard shortcut to remind/teach the user how to become less dependent on the iPad for shortcuts, and progressively move to using the keyboard and modifier key combos.

Sketch feature thingy? I don't see anything anywhere similar to a "Sketch Feature" in AP. Which feature are you referring to?

Good call. I didn't even notice that it was an "Apple Promotion."
