Please add the option to duplicate brushes.

The desktop-version has got it. As the iPad-version does not memorize edited brush settings, the only way for effective workflow is creating a set of brushes, that meet the personal requirements. As without brush-duplication-option every self-created brush needs to be created from scratch, the quickest way at the moment is creating brushes from duplicates in the desktop-version, importing them into the iPad version. Works - but is very inconvenient.

Please move the back- and the re-do-buttons to the opposite side.

When drawing with a pen, the arm is blocking the buttons at the moment. Would they be on the opposite side, they could be used by the "spare" hand, which would speed up the creative process.

A "back"-gesture would be fine, too; alternatively or additionally.

there  is a misunderstanding, IPad and laptop are not the best for professional works, they are a good gear for the work on the go. Astropad is not a a software for extend the desktop ( like duet).
I can't bring my Cintiq on the go or to my clients but the PRO12 is always in my bag. I can't compare the macbook screen ( or an iPad screen) with my calibrated spectraview.   So, in order to avoid confusion, without a calibrated monitor is very hard to make a professional job. The iPad is just a further help for the work but the color correction needs a serious hardware.

ToraAkachan reacted to Hus Sketch in Feature Requests for Painting- just a few productivity requests to improve the painting experience
Testing Affinity Photo on iPad pro and I'm quite pleased with the pro level of the app.
I use it mainly to paint with Apple Pencil .Here are a few notes and suggestions that I hope you take into consideration:

1- Ability to have floating panels (studio) which you can move around or close/minimize when not needed.

2-If floating panels are not possible , at least the ability to have 2 studios opened and pinned at the same time? For example I really prefer to have the color wheel panel always pinned, and not disappear when I choose brushes. That will minimize the number of taps and enhance the drawing experience.

3-The color picker that is included with the brush controls at the bottom is very practical and handy, BUT, you must click outside of it in order to close it and then start painting, opening it again, tap to close, etc. it would be ideal to : a- be able to pin it, so you can use the HSB sliders naturally while you paint. b- if pinning it is not possible, at least let it close itself as the user starts painting, without the need to tap to close it. That will enhance the workflow.

4a-Finger press-and-hold for color picker feels awkward and needs to be enhanced, the circle is way far off , I think it would be ideal that the center of the colorpicker picks the color directly underneath it, and not where the user's finger is, specially when you drag the colorpicker on the canvas, the center of that circle gives the impression that it should be picking what's underneath. If you don't want to change this permanently at least give the user the option to toggle on or off.

4b-The time it takes for the colorpicker circle to show up (finger press-and-hold) is a bit long, make it faster or let the user specify this speed in the settings.

5-Layer lock isn't working, the icon turns red but you can still draw on the layer...

6-Add transparency lock /lock/ visibilty icons directly to the layer panel without the need to click on the (...) and open another panel.

    7-Add clipping mask ability.

8-Ability to hide the selection marching ants.

9-Easier way for undo-redo , the icons are really tiny, maybe a gesture, like two finger tap  , or swipe..

10- An easy way to flip canvas horizontally.

11- There is an annoying white circle that appears and fades when pinch you zoom in and out while on the brush mode. I think it's absolutely unnecessary.

12- An easy way to select an area of the image with Lasso tool and do free transform on it. currently it's a bit of a hassle, Going to the selection Persona for selection and then going to Filters for Perspective transform? which doesn't work well for simply transforming a part of the painting - I think implementing a Free Transform tool that is accessible in the selection Persona is ideal.

    Thank you!

ToraAkachan got a reaction from LilleG in Affinity Photo - iPad Two-Finger Canvas Rotation Gesture
For canvas rotation, it is necessary to select the canvas rotation tool (other apps simply use the two finger gesture for rotation). This is extremely annoying, when drawing with the Apple Pen, because it holds up the workflow big time. Would I be using paper, I would rotate the drawing pad with my left hand, while drawing with the right. At the moment I would have to rotate the iPad for that, which is not possible, as the iPad rests on a stand to provide a comfortable drawing angle. So at the moment, using the canvas rotation tool is like putting away the pencil, rotating the drawing pad, picking up the pencil and draw again. A total waste of time and a huge interference with the workflow. Also, the brushes are set back to default, every time I am switching tools, so after rotating the canvas, I have to customize my brushes again, after every rotation action (I have no use for a pencil with a 43px tip). It is NOT possible to save brush settings with the Assistant or in any other way, as indicated in the manual. It is also not possible to duplicate brushes, which is a shame.
Also, resting the hand on the display, while using the Apple Pen, occasionally interferes with the pen's actions, carrying out unwanted actions - which is a no-go. Please change that.

Please add a feature that makes AP ignore the fingertip, when using the Apple Pencil. iPad users are used to multi-finger-gestures, so it should be no problem programming a little switch in the settings that allows multi-finger touch for various functions, while using tools only works with the pencil.

    Hi affinity team !

First of all GREAT JOB on launching affinity photo on iPad with so many features ! Works amazingly fast and good ! It's a real pleasure on iPad Pro. After a year of waiting it was truly worth it :)

I'd like to share some of my feelings regarding the app though : I noticed using it that the palm rejection isn't so good, same thing with the fingers while using Apple Pencil ! I might have missed the option while digging the apps parameters (if so sorry ) but I couldn't help applying changes with my "dead" fingers while resting on the screen and using the pencil... it can be really annoying some times ! As a user of Procreate I know that they implemented options to ignore totally or partially fingers etc, works great and still allows multi touch actions. Could you guys think about it please ?

Second thing : would it be possible to upload multiple pictures (for stacks or hdr...even panoramas) from the Photo app ? I tend to import my camera raw files directly in the Photo library and not on iCloud Drive...

Other than that and a few "first release" bugs, Affinity Photo is amazing! thanks you very much for that app we were all dreaming of.
