Since, over the years AD has been published, I have made many attempts to get Serif to stop bounding box handle from disappearing whilst moving a guide to snap to it. This has not happened but many AD users have offered all sorts of workarounds including constantly changing snapping settings. I have just discovered a very simple way to get round the problem for me and the way I use AD. I'm only ever interested in the mid-points in rectangles and ellipses. What I do now is click on the 'Transform origin' button and it remains visible when moving a guide. So now I know that the guide is now located on a mid-point where I can click to insert a node. Job done. However I would prefer that they didn't disappear in the first place!

I reckon that a good challenge is a great way to add some extra time to life. -

I'm 84 and I sold all my acrylc painting equipment and thought I would go digital. So I bought a an X-Pen and I plan on using 'Artrage'. I haven't actually started to use it yet as I have a number of other projects that I need to finish first. I'm hoping that I don't have too much of a learning curve to go through as at my age I want to see a decent result before I kick the bucket! -
LOL I changed my 2nd monitor to 'Mirror' my main monitor and all the pallets and tabs appeared on my main monitor. I then was able to load Quick FX which when it appeared was way higher up the screen than all the others. I dragged it down to line up with the others. Next I removed the 'Mirror' setting and dragged everything back to the 2nd monitor. Everything is now OK. The original problem with Quick FX was that it was too high up the screen and therefore impossible to move. Was this the reported bug? even have the lower part of the QuickFX panel - just a large black rectangle. Do you know what the situation regarding fixing the proble,

Thanks for very much for taking the trouble to help me out in this way. I could disconnect the 2nd monitor and set up my pallets ect on the main monitor and open up Quick FX. Having done that I could then reconnect my 2nd monitor and drag everything over onto it and see what happens to Quick FX.
-
Yes I did try View>Zoom>Zoom in but all it did was to enlarge my main monitor. All my pallets and tabs are on the 2nd monitor. I tried dragging my pallets and tabs onto the main monitor and then selecting Quick FX and it partially appeared but only on my 2nd monitor. I can't get it onto my main monitor.

Sorry about the confusion Alfred but I was trying to answer everyone at once. OK so what did @stokerg mean by 'Zoom>Zoom In'?
-
I thought that was what you meant. All that does is change the size of the main screen but not the 2nd monitor where the pallets are.
-
Thanks for that Alfred. I don't know what you mean about 'zooming in\out'. Can you explain please?

By popular demand I have made my screen shots into jpegs. There are 2 screen shots because I use 2 monitors - one for the work area and the other with all the tabs.

I am unable to drag the Quick FX tab to a another position as I can't get at the bar at the top as it is just off the top of the screen. See my screen shot. Re-loading AD doesn't make any difference. Why is this? Quick FX.afdesign

Pressure tab
jackamus replied to jackamus's topic in Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
Yes I suppose I could have done but why would I not expect a second line to do the same thing? I tried deselecting and re-selecting several times but to no avail. I suppose its to do with whether I think AD is reliable enough or not. However next time I will repeat ,whatever it is I'm having a problem with, several times to give AD the benefit of the doubt. -

I wasn't being 'Willfully' ignorant' as I didn't know what was happening and then tried drawing a second line AFTER reading your comment! Also what rules are you talking about? -

I drew another pencil line and it worked. I've no idea why it didn't work the first time. -
Having used the Pencil tool to draw a line I am unable to apply a Pressure profile to it although I can do it to a line drawn with the Pen tool. Why is this?

Pixel grid

Thank you Walt. I've changed my snapping options as you suggested. -
I have a vector drawing and when I past into a new document I cannot zero one edge of the vector drawing to the pixel grid. I cannot nudge it to snap. If you zoom-in you will see what I mean. How do I do that? Pixel grid.afdesign

Its interesting that I haven't had the problem before so why does the 'bug' appear now? Do bugs evolve? -
For some reason or other when I select the rounded corner rectangle it will only give me a square corner rectangle. I closed down ADV2 hoping that would correct it but after reopening AD the problem is still there.

You may be 'just saying' but well done! You have just given Serif a great reason for closing down this forum for being full of 'Pretty small problems' when there are much more serious problems in the world! Back to the thread - I know I have mentioned it before but I don't always take the first 'NO' for an answer! Why remove something that worked in order to get users to have to create a work-around to do the same thing? I kn -

Sorry I cannot accept as a good excuse. It was OK in DV1 so why change it?
