Partly agree. I'm not completely black-and-white about it. I spend a lot of time with a professor of sociology and his wife who also works in the field at a similar level, and here I can't avoid hearing about mass psychology - reactions in society among groups of individuals, and how it spreads. Herd behavior is very interesting, not least when you have to see what you yourself have been influenced by.
The West has been brainwashed for decades over just about everything by Hollywood, the media, governments and big multinational corporations so there is likely to be some truth in references to psychology and the CANVA takeover.

Hi @jackamus,
Can you give some more context to crashes? What had you been doing at the point of the crash? Is this something you can replicate, if you can, can you let me know the steps to follow and I'll see if I can replicate it
I'm afraid that I can't remember what I was doing at that time except that I was working on the same drawing. I have been away since then until today when I hope to pick-up on the drawing again. If the crash happens again I will make a note of what I was doing at the time.

Scroll to the post you want to change, press the ‘three dots’ button at the top-right of that post and choose “Edit” from the menu, then make your changes and then Save the changes.
Thanks Garry.

And what has changed? Your Affinity apps still do the same thing today as they did last week.
There seem to be a lot of people with crystal balls in this forum, predicting the future. They cast the runes, they consulted the Oracle, felt it in their bones, and checked their horoscopes. It's about as accurate as the BBC weather forecast.
Why not just wait and see what actually comes down the line?
Agreed and once you know, you can walk if you want to.

I’ve got the file now, Jack. I see you discovered that it was much too big to send by email. (Anything bigger than 5 or 10 MB is quite likely to be too big. There are probably still some mail systems that won’t accept attachments bigger than 2 MB.)
Please edit your post to remove the plain text version of my email addy. I’d rather not receive more spam than absolutely necessary!
Sorry but how do I do this Alfred?

Your question really belongs here rather than on the Affinity Forums, Jack, but if you attach it to an email and send it to I’d be happy to convert it to your preferred file format.
Hi Alfred,
The email address failed! Have I got this right?

Many thanks Alfred. I'll what you suggest.

I have been sent a 'Spp file that I cannot open. I believe that it was the format PhotoPlus.
Is it possible for me to upload the file to someone who may still use the old PhotoPlus app and export it back to me in an ADV2 compatible format?

You can talk whatever you want, but you as a company PROMISED us without any fussy wording that you would NEVER going to let another company aquire you. You stated that LITERALLY. And yet here we are, not even that much later.
Your words mean NOTHING. Spineless.
Companies that treat clients like this and fail to even respect their own principles, that were the company and product value to begin with, are not worth any more trust. I left instantly because we just cannot trust you. You sold out.Well said! This is going to be a difficult criticism to refute!

Unless someone shares their key with you to allow you to try it out, Naughty, yes. Illegal possibly. But Draw plus and accompanying Plus applications are no longer actively supported by Serif and they do provide some facilities that would complement Affinity. Serif still own the copyright of course and now I suppose Canva might as well.
For years I have asked Serif why DrawPlus was better, for me that is, than AD? DP had more drawing features then than AD has now! All I got in response was DP was old and not a platform that was compatible with modern OS. Basically what they were saying was that the new way of doing things was not going to be as good as the old way! Isn't this called 'dumbing down'?

Check: VectorStyler.
A software superior to Illustrator and Designer and imagine … a company of ONE. One person, a teacher from Finland. Can you imagine?
I have supported him since the beta days. Now there is a promo for 1.5 and one time payment.I have had a quick look at VectorStyler and I think you may be right. I will check it out further.

Hooray! With the extra resources now available to Serif perhaps the developers will be able to stop the nodes and handles of object disappearing when you move a guide and also develop a perspective drawing feature.
Looks like I opened a can of worms with my CANVA posting!

You’re requesting locking/pinning as a new feature. Why would you expect to find anything about it in the current help pages?
I hadn't formally requested any kind of new feature - I was just finding out what might be possible.
I will now request it to the dustbin of 'New Features'.
-
I couldn't find anything on the Affinity help page for 'Pinning a node'. Can you explain please?
-
A Very good question Gary! It would lock to another node.
Unfortunately I didn't anticipate this question and therefore did not place a node on the horizontal line coincident with B.
-
2 minutes ago, walt.farrell said:
I don't think you can do that. Using Garry's approach, as long as you don't actually click on node B while adjusting node A, it should not move.
Thanks but I did know that. What I didn't say was if I accidentally clicked on the stroke rather than the node I could move the whole stroke!
I suppose what I'm asking for is a way to superglue the node/end of the stroke to position B on the other stroke. Too much to ask for?

Thank you but that's not what I was asking. I want to be able to lock node B so that I don't accidentally move it. Its important that B stays located at that point on the horizontal line.

Is it possible to lock a node?
In my attached File I would like to be able to move node 'A' without accidentally moving node 'B' Is there a way for me to lock node 'B'?
This is useful when drawing in perspective from vanishing points which are likely to be well off screen view.

I think changing the dpi value may be the answer. I will try this out later. Thanks thamaso.

Years ago I stopped watching TV and films put out by the controlled media of Hollywood and governments and their agencies because I no longer want to be brainwashed by them. This has given me a lot of extra time to be able to THINK and not strangled by wall-to-wall TV, sports and entertainment!
When you start thinking again that's when you see just exactly what kind world you are living in!
