Walt you have confirmed what I was thinking and that the line width tool is not appropriate. However it might still have a use for incomplete or partial ellipses. I will check that one out.

What I have done in the past is to save the ellipse as an asset to use another time.

I don't understand why you keep saying I'm trying to duplicate a pressure profile! Let me put it another way - how do I draw an ellipse, using the line width tool, to look like ellipse 'B'?

Hi Walt, B is what I'm trying to imitate with C! A is what I started with for both of them. Attached is the a new drawing using AD Beta to create it. Why does adding 2 a new node default the line thickness to zero? Weight of line 3 .afdesign

Ok I re-save the file from the Beta version now attached. Before saving it I made sure the line tools was available! Weight of line 2 .afdesign

My original posting seems to have got lost so here it is again! I was trying to use the line width tool to Make ellipse 'A' like ellipse 'B'. I did B using the Stroke Pressure tab. 'C' is the result of trying to use the line width tool. When a new node is added the line seems to default to a zero width! I imagine I'm not using it correctly. Advice would be appreciated. I've been trying out the new line width tool but find it does not seem to be anymore versatile then the existing Pressure tool in fact less useful! In example 'B' I was trying to use this tool to create the same line thickness as in 'A'. I created 'A' using the existing Pressure tool. I would say for the new tool to be more useful the adjustment nodes need to be independently adjustable as when using the Pressure tool. The only advantage in the new tool is would be 'live' line width adjustment as you move a node rather than moving your gaze between line and Pressure tool tab. Years ago I stopped watching TV and films put out by the controlled media of Hollywood and governments and their agencies because I no longer want to be brainwashed by them. The West has been brainwashed for decades over just about everything by Hollywood, the media, governments and big multinational corporations so there is likely to be some truth in references to psychology and the CANVA takeover.

I'm afraid that I can't remember what I was doing at that time except that I was working on the same drawing. I have been away since then until today when I hope to pick-up on the drawing again. If the crash happens again I will make a note of what I was doing at the time.

I have been sent a 'Spp file that I cannot open. I believe that it was the format PhotoPlus. Is it possible for me to upload the file to someone who may still use the old PhotoPlus app and export it back to me in an ADV2 compatible format?

Well said! This is going to be a difficult criticism to refute!

For years I have asked Serif why DrawPlus was better, for me that is, than AD? DP had more drawing features then than AD has now! All I got in response was DP was old and not a platform that was compatible with modern OS. Basically what they were saying was that the new way of doing things was not going to be as good as the old way! Isn't this called 'dumbing down'?

I have had a quick look at VectorStyler and I think you may be right. I will check it out further.

Hooray! With the extra resources now available to Serif perhaps the developers will be able to stop the nodes and handles of object disappearing when you move a guide and also develop a perspective drawing feature.

I am requesting locking/pinning nodes as a new feature.
