  1. Sorry I forgot there was a Windows version. I'm on a Mac OS X El Capitan and AD version 1.6.0
  2. I don't think I made myself very clear to toltec. When I want to shut down AD I have to go through this process to close all the open unsaved files. 1 If I click Close, I'm invited to Save if the file is unsaved. 2 I then Save it. At this point I expect the file to Close but it doesn't. 3 I have to go back to Close to close it. This is how I would expect AD to do it. 1 Click Close. 2 AD asks if you want to Save if it hasn't already been saved otherwise AD would close the file.
  3. I bought AD when it was first published and one of the first questions I asked on this forum was. 'When you try to close a file it still stays open after you have saved it; you have to back again and click Close' I would have thought after all this time it would have been fixed. When can we expect a better choice for changing the Interface?
  4. Hi MEB, I discovered that it will snap to a guide line and the group bounding box but not to an object within the group.
  5. When I select a group and use 'alt' to drag a copy it doesn't snap to the original group. I've checked the Snap setting and there appears to be none for snapping to groups. Is there another way to do this?
  6. I have discovered that 'Assets' is a valuable feature. However I dragged a new asset into the asset box before I grouped it and now I have a bout 40 'bits' of the asset saved. Is there a way of mass deleting all the 'bits'?
  7. That's what I did. I think the problem was that I also had the rectangle grouped with the clouds.
  8. I am trying to get the group of fuzzy shapes (clouds) to be 'clipped' by the white parallelogram. Clouds.afdesign
  9. When I choose an arrow tool and then choose a 'Circle' shape end why do I get an ellipse?
  10. If I click Help - Snapshots are in the Studio menu but when I click on it what am I supposed to see`?
  11. Next problem - how do you reinstate a shape that has been converted into curves many moves earlier? Simply 'Undoing' is not a very good option.
  12. Hi Alfred, Yes I did mean that and thank you for crediting me with 'already knowing' I didn't! This solves the problem. it would be nice to 'Toggle' between 'all showing' and 'not all showing'.
  13. Is there any technical reason why, when you group a number of objects, that their curve nodes can be visible?
  14. Why not make the Guide Tool work both ways? Would this be a difficult feature to create?
  15. I may have asked this question before so forgive me if I hd. Is there a way of keeping curve nodes visible whilst moving a guide? This would be very useful for aligning nodes.
  16. All layers were open. However in my frustration I saved the file, closed and re-opened AD and it is now OK.
  17. My 'Move' tool has suddenly stopped selecting objects. Why is this?
  18. I did give AP a good try but found PhotoShop easier for the same reason. I can get a very good result more intuitively and quickly than with AP. I have attached the result of the jigsaw painting 20" x 30". Memorial_flight.afdesign
  19. Thanks for this. I will suggest that a Polar/angular grid be added. See attached file of a simple grid. The angles and circles can be changed as required as with other grids. Great for drawing Archimedian spirals. Polar grid.afdesign
  20. Is there an easy way to divide a circle into many different angles? Is there an angular/polar grid?
  21. I'm now quite happy with the current system. I created a 'Style' for doing tapered lines for ellipses for doing technical illustrations. I varied the thickness of the line by using the pressure profile. See the attached file. Ellipses.afdesign
  22. Thanks for this. I will have to investigate creating other shortcuts. A modifier key would be useful but for now this sounds like an excellent solution.
