I didn't see the Promote Group to Layer command in the Designer Layer menu. Sorry.
@ashf: It's already available in Publisher if you own Designer, too, via the Designer Persona.

You can turn a group into a layer. very useful when you organize layers.
Check Layer menu in Designer

e.g.
Group layers with Cmd+G
Then change the group to a layer
(since you can't manipulate each layer easily)
 
 

I would like Sreif to bring back "real" vector brush from DrawPlus to Affinity.
Affinity's vector brush is actually a raster brush stroke with a curve, pseudo vector brush.
Why this has been changed when Affinity was developed?

That may be a bad example, as I don't think Publisher hyphenates "woman"
But if it does, or for some other word, you could assign the "no break" attribute to the word (highlight it, select that attribute in the Character studio panel, or assign a Character text style with that attribute).

I'm using MacOS High sierra and Publisher 1.8.3
I'm experiencing text formatting problem which relates to hyphenation in Korean.
Korean (as many Asian languages) does not normally need hyphenation.
So I set none to hyphenation in Character panel and deselect auto hyphenation in Paragraph panel.
I also select "Korean" in spelling and typography.
Then I was expecting that the words in text should break (letter by letter) in lines. But it does not break in lines like western language without hyphenation being activated.
Chinese and Japanese seem to doing fine on this matter. I'm attaching the sample that is made by one of forum members.
 

Yes, as I posted the test result above, only Korean is shown incorrectly even on Windows.
Affinity does not have any setting for Asian languages such as spelling or hyphenation and does not have dictionaries.
So I assume you should ask Serif to fix the way Korean is shown - the same way as Chinese/Japanese.

One of the first posts in this thread  in 2014 was from Affinity and it mentioned WINE:
It's now 2020 and WINE is a much more sophisticated solution, especially because of the investment that Valve has made via Proton and projects like Vulkan / DXVK. There is also a Windows build of all three programmes (I presume the first builds were for macOS?)
From another thread it looks like we are pretty close to having the Affinity programmes running on Linux via WINE.
Would it now be easier for Serif to put one or two developers' time into making sure that their products run well on WINE, without committing to a full Linux port? That way they'd be supporting the community, but also would have an opportunity to see how many Linux users there were.

Would be nice if  Serif cloud add an option to fit Crop tool to selection at least.

It's not quite the same as the perspective crop tool, but it is another handy option.

No, you simply use the Appearance Panel to assign 2 gradients to 1 object:

According to printers in Japan, regular western crop marks are inconvenient because they can't grasp bleeds intuitively at glance with it.
That's why Japanese style double crop mark exists.

As far as I remember, the updated, newer version of the PDFLib library Serif uses doesn't support the X1a-2001 format anymore, despite trying to get the library makers to put it back in.

It´s a basic function for me, to make spreads with more than 2 pages. Maybe 3 or 4. InDesign does that well and i hope so you will add this function

From my understanding these tools are going to be in Designer before the 2.0 release. I still want to share my input for how useful these tools are and are on the top of my wish list. I've added screen captures of my specific use cases for both. I look forward to Affinity's team doing an excellent job, much how they did with the live raster warping in affinity. Thanks to the team for giving us amateurs pro tools.
