ashf reacted to Sean P in Pasting an artboard into a document make the artboard tool useless
Hi ashf,
This is something we're aware of that is logged with development. I'll get your comments passed over and get it bumped.

ashf reacted to loukash in Adding/modifying appearance of multiple objects at once
Yeah, that's slightly annoying, and there's definitely room for improvement.
On the other hand, e.g. Illustrator CS5 isn't any helpful in that regard either, showing only "???" if the parameters don't match. Don't know about the newer versions though.

ashf reacted to VolkerMB in Multiple strokes on multiple objects
Hi!
It is easy to select multiple objects on a canvas and change their stroke colour/thickness using the stroke panel. However, it seems impossible to add a couple of more strokes via the appearance panel if more than one object is selected. That is a pitty in particular when you deal with text (converted to curves). Currently you have to add the desired strokes to each character individually which is a tedious and time consuming task. Perhaps this could be improved in a future update.
Best,
Volker

Corner/Contour tool in Affinity Designer:
アピアランスをベイク would be better as the translation for the "Bake Appearance" on the context bar.
Just Googled the translation for "Baked Potato"
Results of ベイクドポテト is 1,730,000
Results of ベークドポテト is 122,000
It seems that ベイクド is more common than ベークド, also ベイクド sounds more natural to me.
so "Bake" should be ベイク but ベーク, I think.

This is mainly about Windows version.(some are applied to Mac version too)
Since this is a frequent word and affects creation of tutorials, please fix them ASAP.
Please check thoroughly all Export & Import.

Export windows in all Affinity:
Area
Selection Area = 選択エリア
Selection Only = 選択オブジェクトのみ or 選択オブジェクト
Word-for-word translation for "Selection Only" is 選択のみ but this is kind of fuzzy what it is, sounds like the same as "Selection Area."
So 選択オブジェクトのみ(Selected Object(s) only) or 選択オブジェクト(Selected Object(s)) may be better I think...

Would be nice if AP could straighten distorted object while cropping an image like Photoshop.

It's useful for an image of buildings/documents

ashf reacted to Sean P in very poor eps import support
Hi Greg Wo,
Unfortunately there isn't anything we can do about this! The issue here is that the EPS files found on many stock sites are an Illustrator formatted EPS file which means it contains two streams of data: Regular native EPS data and an Embedded AI file. What this means is that when Illustrator opens the EPS it will read the Illustrator stream showing the file exactly as it was saved when created in Illustrator.
However there will be Illustrator elements in the file that aren't compatible with EPS (for example Mesh Fills) and will get rasterised into pixel data in the EPS stream, when saved. But when opened in AI they appear correctly as vector objects because it is using the AI stream.
When the EPS file is opened in Affinity we are unable to read the AI stream and instead have to open the EPS stream with the rasterised data.

This is a compelling reason, I agree. SEO is important

ashf reacted to Pšenda in Format name is JPEG, not JPG
I understand. After all, that's why Affinity only allowed files with the JPEG extension, not with JPG, until version 9.0.
If this seems like the right way to present the features (in full feature list) of your applications to potential customers, then everything is fine.

ashf got a reaction from Pšenda in JPG Export Quality Problem
Many optimizers don't have format conversion.
So in that case, jpg>jpg is the only option.

ashf reacted to TelFiRE in How can I crop to an aspect ratio but not a size?
Trying to make a macro that will crop something to a specific aspect ratio but not to a specific size. Everything I try forces specific dimensions so the macro can't be used on anything except photos with the exact same size. I just want to keep the width exactly as is and crop to 4:3 in the center.

Current translation is フロート but this is not so common and Adobe uses 分離.

ashf reacted to firstdefence in Dashed Lines - Alignment and scaling
This should be addressed to the Affinity Range.
Dashed lines should not scale by length when adjusting the width, only the width should increase, as it stands, if you increase the width of a dashed line from say .5mm to 1mm the dashes increase in length knocking any phase adjusts you have made "out of whack" effectively destroying the phase setting.
What should happen is the width of the dash should increase and the length of the dash should not, this means any phase adjustments you have applied will be retained.
This leads me on to Alignment, there should be an alignment option to create a symmetrical dash, the corners would have a symmetrical L shaped dash and single lines would have a half dash at each end. See bottom image for an example.
Affinity @ .5mm 12-6-0-0
Affinity @ 1mm 12-6-0-0 Dashes scale by length and go out of alignment.
Adobe Illustrator @ .5mm 12-6-0-0
Adobe Illustrator @ 1mm 12-6-0-0 (No length scaling dash stays put)
Adobe Illustrator with Alignment applied, makes a neat dashed line.

Panorama window in Affinity Photo:
Translation for the "stitch" button should be 縫い合わせる or 繋ぎ合わせる
縫い合わせる is usually used for only fabrics.
繋ぎ合わせる is universal expression for attaching something together.
Current translation is パノラマの切り替え means "switching panorama" in English.
Not switch, should be stitch.

When you right-click on the Toolbar, a menu appears, where you can edit its items.
Please add this function (edit items as in the menu View\Customize Tools...) to the Tools Panel.

ashf reacted to Old Bruce in Merging multiple images (not Panorama)
Yes, I have neither the patience nor the eyesight to do that by hand anymore.
I have to add a caveat in that if there are large blank areas, like blue sky, then all bets are off.

ashf reacted to simonides in How to stitch a couple of images from scanner together to make a single image.
Question from a complete Affinity Photo newbie: I've scanned a large B&W photo on my scanner as two TIF files, one for the top, and another for the bottom. What's the best approach to stitching them together into a single image? Create a new Panorama?
thanks!

ashf reacted to sdeban in Photo stitch merge align
I'd like to merge several screenshots for a higher resolution image. Panorama and focus merge do not work. They layer and blend and distort. Is there a way to do a simple stich/merge of many images for a larger image, without any exposure of focus merging? It seems the most simple merge or stitch is lacking, but it is something Photoshop can do so I assumed Affinity could do it too.

ashf reacted to Paul Mudditt in Affinity for iPad on M1 Mac?
No. That is common with most software suppliers who already have a Mac app available to not allow their mobile apps to work on the Mac
On the Mac you can download a free trial for testing purposed, hope this helps.
