ashf got a reaction from rmoorman in Flipping object with transformation origin and angle
How do I flip a object if the original object is oblique and has moved transformation origin?
(P.S. the object on attached picture is horizontally symmetric but I would use asymmetric one.)

ashf reacted to Paul Mudditt in Mud's Macros V11 Library - 'Content Aware Move' added
Here is a trivial macro in Affinity Photo that replicates exactly Content Aware Move from PS.
To use, create your selection and refine as necessary, select your image layer then run the Content Aware Move macro in my Mud's Macros V11.afmacros library. See demo.
The macro steps are simply,
1. Rasterise current layer
2. Duplicate Selection
3. Select original layer
4. CMD/CTRL-X to cut out the background
5. Grow selection by 8 pixels
6. Content aware fill using EDIT->INPAINT command
7. Remove the marching ant selection
Demo of use on Mac and iPad versions after making a selection attached.

Create Compound Object - Create Compound from Designer
Content Aware Move **NEW**
Create and refine a selection, run macro, new layer created from the selection and the source area is filled using content aware fill command edit->Inpaint. **NEW**
These macros were written on desktop for use on my favourite iPad Pro platform but will work on PC, Mac and iPad versions. Some of the macros will look a little odd to desktop users as they were my attempt to add some of the missing functionality from the desktop to the iPad version. It is a “.afmacros” library file so in desktop use view->studio->library and import into the library pane not the macro panel which is only for single “.afmacro” files.

This may happen when the Copy as SVG option is disabled.
I saw a user complaining flashing taskbar problem.
They say it does not happen when the Copy as SVG option is enabled.

ashf reacted to Cyranose in Affinity Photo is ALSO a great PDF editor!
Hi. I haven't seen this mentioned elsewhere, but I'm not on the forums a lot so I may have just missed it: In my experience, Affinity Photo is ALSO the best PDF editor I've ever used. I suggest any Affinity Photo users who need to edit a PDF try it out for this purpose.
Thanks,

ashf reacted to walt.farrell in Rasterizing multiple layers at once
OK, but you didn't report it as a bug. You reported it in the Feedback forum; bugs would be in the Bugs forum.
In the topic you just pointed to, it's acknowledged as a bug (see the bug-tracking tag and Gabe's comment). So it wouldn't need a Feedback request, it just needs patience until the Developers fix it.
There are 4 topics with that bug tag: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/search/&tags=afd-1883

ashf reacted to NotMyFault in rasterize & trim for all selected layers [implemented in V2]👍
Hi,
currently, rasterize & trim only affects the active layer.
In case of multiple pixel layers are selected, R&T should affect all selected pixel layers and raster them individually.
I need this for night sky stacking of the moon. A time lapse of 100 images, stacked and aligned, must be R&T before export, as the export persona ignores crop, and would export the images without the alignment (rotation & scaling of layers).
Even with a macro, R&T will take 100 clicks for 100 layers.
Thank you in advance.

ashf reacted to Ecifircas in Designer: Rasterize all / Rasterize multiple layers
Hey,
I have been working a few times with files with lots of images. I sometimes don't want to compress them before I am sure of how big they will be in the layout, so I add them in original resolution. Once I am done with the placement, I would like to rasterize them.
But when I select multiple images and click "rasterize", only a single one of them is rasterized. It would seem logical to me that the operation applies to the entire selection.
Alternatively would be a option "rasterize all images". This way, once you have all images the size you want them, you can rasterize them all in one click and drastically reduce the file size.
Greets!

ashf reacted to Polygonius in content aware/inpainting fill
I recanvas a pic (no other layers) . On the right side this shift-F5 inpainting works quiet well, also on the bottom. But on top and left there is just a transparency fade or similiar.
I tried another pic and here another side is not working. And so on. Sometimes its great somethings the result is transparency-fade?????
Is this a bug?

ashf reacted to nickdaum in Content-aware cropping
Hi all
I have been dreaming of that for ages : Content-aware cropping coming soon to Adobe Photoshop CC. Actually I would call that de-cropping. Not only I am a lousy framer but I often do panoramas that often leave blank edges.
Any thought?

ashf reacted to MaxKøngerskov in [APh] Content aware crop!
Photoshop has a very nice feature called content aware crop, it basically fill in the empty space of a cropped image with the image itself (don't ask me how they do it) but I want that in my newly purchased Affinity Photo on Windows 10. These features are so nice, so nice we need to have them aswell.

ashf reacted to Uncle Mez in Affinity : Content Aware crop and Fill ???
Hello Peoples !
Just want to know if it is possible to do a content aware crop or/and content aware fill with Affinity.
if No ! did someone achieve something similar using one of the available tools ?
Please share if you succeeded with this so can learn and apply.
in case of 100% then it would be a great functionality to add.
Blessings !

ashf reacted to Cecil in Content Aware Fill
When cropping and straightening a photo, sometimes transparent space is left and cropping to eliminate is not desirable option. There are workarounds to fill the transparent pixels. I would like to suggest adding a Content Aware Fill Layer to the Context Tool Bar. This, if enabled, would fill in the transparent pixels from averaging nearby pixels or any method development team decides, to fill transparent pixels. My concern is for the tool, not the method. Those that don’t need it, don’t tick box to fill.

ashf reacted to lacerto in Change color on b/w TIFF-graphics
K-Only is only available in CMYK document color mode.
a) When placing a true grayscale, "K-Only" button is automatically turned on so that the image behaves like a regular grayscale image and can be tinted with any color.
b) If "K-Only" is turned off, a grayscale image behaves like an RGB image and assigning a color to the image causes the composite gray to be used as shades of the color.
c) When placing an RGB image, "K-Only" turned on makes the image behave like a grayscale image, and leaving it off allows using the image channel values to be used as shades of the color.
d) When placing a CMYK image, "K-Only" uses only the K channel of the image.
In an RGB document grayscale images behave like RGB composite grays and assigning a color uses tones of the image as shades of the color. An RGB image can also be used as a shader but the effect is stronger. Tinting and milder shading can be achieved by using colored shapes with blend modes on top of a grayscale image.
Monochrome images are not suppored in Affinity apps, so you cannot assign colors to fore and background colors (1 and 0 bits) similarly as e.g. in InDesign.
EDIT. Note that to be able to assign colors to raster images, they must be "Image" layers. Pixel layers cannot be colorized this way. In Publisher, you can convert a pixel layer to an image by using Layer > Convert to Image Resource. Unlike changes to a pixel layer, these are all non-destructive colorings.
