[Eyedropper in Affinity Designer]

Saving to Style doesn't work with Pencil tool.
I want Serif to add stroke picking ability to eyedropper. or add Pencil style preset feature.

Even tough it's often called "eyedropper", it sounds weird.
Just "dropper" make more sense that's also often used.

Would be nice if you cloud add Pencil style preset feature that can save and switch stroke style quickly like vector brush.

Affinity can't open PagePlus file directly.

Why can't it do this? Especially since I can manually put an extra point on the line that crosses a shape and then delete that segment (that intersects with the shape) to achieve the line crop. This can't be automated?

I'll try to upload an example:
(This is illustrator CS6 - it's what I know as I am still learning the Affinity, but the same technique works in both I think.)

1: A curved line, open. And a purple square, closed.

2: Square over line.

3: Remove foreground shape via Pathfinder tool = WRONG! 

4, 5 & 6: But, it is possible to add the points manually, then select and delete the segment that intersects. This is what I am looking for - it works fine, manually.

This can't be automated? Is there a decent explanation as to why?

This seems like such a severe limitation.

It's the same in Affinity.
It would be improved in future release but it's not possible for now.

[Suggestions for Japanese UI]

Translation of the "Show Selection in Layer Panel" in the User Interface preferences is inconsistent between mac and Windows.
I reported this long time ago but it's still the same.

Mac: レイヤーパネルで自動スクロールによって選択範囲を表示
Win: 選択範囲をレイヤパネルに表示

Also I suggest a translation for this option since it hasn't been translated yet.

I know many vector graphics app have behavior that separate each stroke to individual layer but I too think it would be useful.

it seems that it's "viewbox" problem that happens between Affinity and Illustrator also.
When I disable viewbox option, a svg will be shown correctly in Fugma.

it might be so, but a user may not notice that they deleted locked layer while they can recover it.
Also most of graphics app do not let users delete locked object with delete key, not just Adobe's but also CorelDraw and even old Serif's such as DrawPlus or PhotoPlus.

I probably should've said that I was referring how layer locking works in InDesign. When you lock a layer, it is locked, that's it.

I just have to learn how to use this "feature" in Affinity apps, if it is meant to work like that and is not a fault. Who knows, it might prove to be handy when I get the hang of it..

I see what you mean, it might be better to show alert or  something before delete them.
