Walt,
Thanks for the response but I've already tried the uninstall/reinstall with the exe/msi installer and it didn't work. In reading thru pages and pages of posts, I find I'm not the only one with this problem....and I did uninstall the mxsi version first.

Well, I think I'm done. I'm pretty good at photo processing but as a 76 yr old I'm past the point of being tech savy. I've read pages and pages of posts on this subject but I don't know how to write a .bat file or where to put it or how to accomplish many of the other suggestions for a "work around". Why should I have to? This doesn't seem to be an issue with many other programs I use in conjunction with Lightroom Classic. I had used Affinity for a number of years before this issue came up and was happy with it's performance. I bought V2 with high hopes of an even better experience. I guess I'll just chalk it up as a bad investment. This shouldn't have to be rocket science....but I guess it is.

Patience and understanding please! I used to think I was tech savvy (about 15 yrs ago) but am now having a terrible time getting Photo V2 to work with Lightroom. I actually gave up using Affinity because I couldn't figure it out. I stumbled on this thread and thought Ahaa!....so I deleted my Affinity2 file and downloaded the MSI installer/program. I opened Lightroom chose a photo and went Photo/Edit In/Affinity Photo/Edit with LR Adjustments. Lightroom made a .psd copy but nothing else happened. Photo 2 didn't open. Please help.

I'm a 75 yr old "used to be tech savvy" guy trying to get to Affinity Photo 2 from Lightroom. I have read all of this string and anything else I can find on the subject but it's just too darned complicated. Will Affinity Photo 2 have a simple way (similar to Photo 1) to get to from Lightroom. Photo 2 is pretty useless to me without it.

I have been using Lightroom 5.7 for a looooong time and had no problem with Affinity Photo up to version 1.8 in using Affinity as an external editor in Lightroom. I did the upgrade to Affinity 1.9 through the Affinity store and now cannot get 1.9 to run through Lightroom. When I try to direct the Lightroom/preferences/additional external editor to the Affinity.exe it does not show up even though I can see the file in the Windows file manager. As Roseanna Roseannadanna said......"It's always something"......... Help please?

I can get the program to open but when I try and open a file it crashes....If I try and open the same file a second time it opens but when you try to do anything with the file it crashes.

A very newbie AP question.... I open an image and lock the layer; make a duplicate layer, then crop the duplicate layer. If I delete the duplicate layer, the original locked layer is cropped also and no way to undo the crop. I thought the purpose of duplicating the base layer was to make all changes above the base layer non-destructive? Am I missing something basic? Windows 10, i7 processor.

Dan,
I am running AP 1.6.5.135 on Windows 10 with an i7 processor. My Windows Display Scaling is set to 125%. I will try and replicate again today to give you any more details I can.
Thanks in advance....

Has anyone used Flaming Pear-Flood successfully with AP? I can access the program thru the "Filters" tab but everything is rasterized.

Not to hijack this thread but I have set up Affinity as an external editor in LR, and going from LR to Affinity works fine. When I save the Affinity file however the edited file does not transfer back to LR? Am I missing something?Ahh, read a little further in the forum and figured it out!

I am suspicious of the Core I-7 as it has been blamed for other incompatibilities but no one can answer for sure.

I am using Affinity Photo on a Gigabyte laptop with Windows 10 and Core I-7 with plenty of ram. I have installed Topaz and NIK plugins and they will start when going to Filters/Plugins/.... However, when the Topaz or NIK program starts it shows only a black rectangle and not the picture??

V-KYR, Walt, and especially Red Sands, thank you very much for your patience and help. After Red Sands' post I studied my situation some more. The main issue was finding an .exe file. In all the previous machinations I performed from info on older posts, I was looking for it in C"/Users/Name/App Data or affinity. I finally searched in C;/Programs/Affinity/Photo2 and found it. I know it may sound simple to you but this old guy that started before Windows was a thing and is now struggling to keep up it wasn't so simple. Thanks again all! Now back to the main point of photo processing.
