  1. These type of guys word things in a way to get that dramatic response. As an environment artist, I've been able to port over my entire workflow from Photoshop, and this app is "young". There is one thing I'm trying to understand about using user created greyscale alphas as masks within the alpha cannel in Affinity, and that has been my only issue so far. This may be me getting things wrong, or Affinity just not being able to do it (Here's the link to the post I created in case anyone can help https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/40723-help-porting-work-flow-with-channelslayersalphas/). The only reason why I use Photoshop is to collaborate with other artists who are just set in their ways as well as the industry running on Photoshop for 2D stuff. I use it for all of my personal & indie work. These guys are on the right track, BY FAR! Keep it up
  2. Sup people! I've been checking out this application and I'm really impressed with what it can do. I've been porting over my Photoshop work flows, and it has handled every task I've thrown at it. And like everyone else, I'm just looking for a little help. I've been trying to figure out the layers/channels tools in Affinity, and how to use them. I'm an environment artist and this is specific to my terrain workflow. During the production process, I've always taken my textures for a few passes through Photoshop. As part of my editing, I would use masks that I've created to edit specific areas of my diffuse texture. Example: Copy my masks into the alpha channel and start working with "Adjustments", "Layer Effects", etc. Thing is, I can't seem to get Affinity to perform the same tasks. I've checked a few of the Channels/Masks tutorials, but I just can't seem to find what I'm looking for. Either that, or I'm missing something. I have provided a screenshot of the WIP terrain, as well as the diffuse texture and masks. Any help would be appreciated.
  3. Sup people. Name is Mike. I'm an environment artist with a focus in increasing my skills and expanding my tools. Came across Affinity Photo and was impressed with how much of my work flow ported over from Photoshop. In fact, I have yet to find something I can not do. I'll be around here and there asking questions and learning more about the app. Posting my art as well. Thanks for any future advice and help. I will also contribute what I can. B)
