Hello everyone,
I recommend you take a look at the programme VectorMagic. The standalone version costs a bit more, but it's worth it if you have to vectorise a lot of images, as the programme also runs in batch mode if needed.

Hello @Peter Tyler and welcome to the forums.
Please look if there is a crash report. If so, please attach the .dmp file with the latest time stamp to your next message.

What if you untick Subset fonts? You'll find them if you click on More... in the Export Setings for PDFs.

You may have noticed that the 1.10.1 retail version is out now. The beta is now not longer necessary.

ChrisB, I found the original file that had the subject issue on one of my backup drives. Please find attached.
I could not provoke a crash with the file either. I also had no lags.
Do you have any third-party antivirus software in use?Perhaps there are also Windows system components that are outdated or even defective. To rule this out, you should use the sfc tool.
To do this, click with the right mouse button on the Windows Start symbol. Select CMD (Administrator) from the list. Type sfc /scannow and confirm with Enter. -

Fair point! I'm used to a PC but am buying a Macbook this week for work on my apps. Just trying to figure out which would have the least painful learning curve!
Thanks John!
If you've never had contact with a Mac or Linux OS, then you'll have a higher learning curve with the Mac.
And you will find some features in Affinity programs in different places than in the PC versions.
For me, the biggest disadvantage is that you can't easily swap hardware (e. g. SSD or RAM) on the newer Macbooks.

Hello @don A.
You have to export the files. You will find this option in the file menu.
-
Maybe you have a chance if you deinstall Filter Forge and reinstall with a fresh downloaded version. Before you reinstall, delete the manual copied plugin folder.
-
Hello @tree-standing
I have installed the trial version and a selection window appears. So it's not Microsoft that is preventing anything here.

You find the folder with the plugin under Program Files\Filter Forge 10\Plugin. Mark the x64 folder and copy (ctrl +c)
In APhoto go to Preferences --> Photoshop Plugin. Click on "Open default folder ..."
Now paste (ctrl + v) in to the APhoto plugin folder. Be shure 'Allow "Unknown" plugins ... ' is ticked. Restart Affinity Photo.

Hello @PO Norman
I can open the file without any problems. I suspect that there is a problem with a font or linked file,
Attached two versions. One without linked resource, one with changed font. So you can fast find the culprit.
And a hint. Try the beta Version.

Hello @Family tree guy and welcome to the forums.
If you use Affinity Designer, you can only change the document size via the document settings. You need Affinity Photo to crop.
-
Hello @Nutz Vathanyu and welcome to the forums.
If Affinity programmes crash there will be created a crash report.
Please press Windows key + R, Type %appdata%\affinity\designer\1.0\crashreports\reports and press enter.
If is there more as one .dmp file, please attach the file with the latest time stamp to your next message.

Hello @GrowingSuccess
It looks to me like all the pages have been imported as an image.
After selecting the PDF file, the selection window with PDF options appears. Both options should be ticked there.

You are welcome.

Older MacBooks where good to repair, but the new ones are only repairable If you have the right tools and a repair skill of Apple products. And the SSDs mostly are glued on. And if you're unfortunate, the SSD is soldered onto the motherboard.

Hello @Rushabh J
When Affinity programmes crash, a crash report is also generated.
If there is no crash report, I recommend that you disable hardware acceleration in Affinity Photo.
Edit --> Preferences --> Performance.

A hardware error can have various causes, including faulty RAM.
To check the RAM, you can use the Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool.
Open the Windows search and type in Windows Memory Diagnostics (be careful, the memory test can take a long time).
