Why would it work fine with Photo 1.9 then?

We have to start troubleshooting somewhere. Because if it were a general error, it would occur with all users.
There are so many different hardware combinations that we cannot offer a blanket solution.

If reinstalling the drivers does not bring about a change, then perhaps a Windows system component is faulty. You can find out if this is the case with the Windows tool sfc.
To do this, right-click on the Windows Start icon. Select CMD (Administrator), type sfc /scannow and confirm with Enter.

  2. Hello @RV79 and welcome to the forums.

Open the eps file. Select all objects by drawing a frame over the entire drawing area with the Move tool,
Press Shift + CTRL + G to ungroup ALL objects.
In the layer selection scroll down to the bottom and delete the layer with the white rectangular curve.

Now you can select all the other objects separately with the Move tool (draw a frame around the object), copy them with CTRL + C and paste them into a new document under File --> New from clipboard.

If you work with the option New from clipboard, you can save the separated objects in the .afdesign format. In general, it makes sense to save vector objects in a vector file format, as this gives you the option of scaling the objects without loss.
If you prefer to export the objects in another file format, you can also export the marked object without the intermediate step via the clipboard.
To do this, select an object, go to File --> Export, select the file format. Select under Area: Selection only.

  3. OK, I don't give up :D

Wintab32.dll, i.e. a function interface belonging to the Wacom driver, is involved in the cause of the error. Can you please deactivate the tablet support in the device manager for a test and then start APhoto?

If it now works with activated hardware acceleration, please check with Wacom whether there are newer drivers. You'll find the device manager in an easy way if you right click the Windows start icon. Navigate to input devices.
