Without OpenCL, some things take more time with large files or/and many layers. With the live filters, for example. A downgrade to 1.8.xxxx makes sense if you depend on a faster workflow.
On the other hand, when you downgrade, you have all the bugs that were fixed with the upgrade version. Here you simply have to weigh up whether you need the fast workflow or a stable programme basis.
I would like to have both, but life is not a pony farm. 😅

Hi @Mark Ingram,
when can we expect a patch? An update on the situation would be appropriate as the problem has been going on for about 4 weeks now.
Thank you
Report the problem to AMD. The more people complain, the faster AMD will work with Serif to find a solution.

Ich glaube,es ist weniger ein Fehler bei Affinity zu suchen, sondern beim Windows-Code vom exiftool. -
I have the same problems with the speed of work and execution. Creating new documents takes several seconds. When selecting or changing brushes, for example, it takes several seconds to switch.
Addendum: Without hardware acceleration activated, everything runs more smoothly. By the way, Designer and Publisher run smoother even without OpenCL support enabled.

Danke, ich hatte die Mittellinie nicht gesehen, bzw. nicht als verschiebbar wahrgenommen. 😉

You can change the document resolution in the settings.
-
When you create a new A4 document, it is set to 300 DPI by default. To my knowledge, the inserted image is then downscaled.
-
Wenn Du ein neues Dokument mit 300 DPI erstellst, wird das einzufügende Bild meines Wissens nach heruntergerechnet.

I don't know the ipad UI. In the desktop.app you find this option under settings-->shortcuts.

I did that now, but with about 600 files you quickly have a knot in your fingers.

Same here with Version 1.7.2.471 (latest) on a fresh Win10 installation.
The error message appears with all .abr brushes. With the 1.7.1.xxx the import still worked perfectly.

Hello, I often have the problem that Affinity Photo freezes when moving layers.
I've noticed that it often happens when I undo a lot of work and then move layers.
I assigned 60% of 16GB RAM in Affinity Photo. The graphics card (GTX 1060 6 GB) renders with OpenGL
As a precaution I have attached a memory dump of Affinity Photo as a RAR file. -

Can you tell me what formats, other than RTF, maybe PDF, can be used?
Windows has an "pdf-Printer". You can covert Word documents in a batch. Set the PDF-Printer as the default printer. Then mark all documents you wish to convert. Click with the right mouse button at one of the marked files and chose "Print". All marked files will now be printed as pdf-files.

I have some multi-layer PSDs like this one: http://www.pixeden.com/texture-packs/psd-water-drops-background-textureThis file has approximately 1400 layerAffinty Photo / Designer takes up to 30 minutes to open it. Photoshop needs only a second. So I want a performance improvement when opening multi-layer PSD. :D
