The screen size is not the decisive factor, but mainly the screen resolution. It does not matter whether a content is displayed on 10 inches at e. g. 1920x1080 or on 32 inches.
On a 10 inch screen you might have to use a magnifying glass and on a 32 inch screen you might have to sit further away. But the image information that is displayed is always the same. And yes, the window size matter ... a little bit too.

Hello @awakenedbyowls
here is a sample how verctor brushes works in Affinity Designer.

-
Do you use a mouse or a pen? Changes to various pressure-sensitive brush stroke settings only work with a pen and tablet.
-
Sorry, my fault.
Since I don't have XD, I tried it with an version of Illustrator. Here, copying from Illustrator and pasting into Designer works. And I can also create a new document from the clipboard.
And in contrast to your clipboard display, the handle type for all my entries is memory.

Hello @MSLDAff
The DISM command checks whether Windows updates need to be repair.
sfc /scannow checks for missing or damaged system files.
But before you run the commands try the Beta Version of Affinity Photo first.

Hello @JoaoHenriv, if deactivated hardware acceleration works in photo than it works in designer either. And if no dump file was created, that means that designer was'nt the culprit.

There are more entries in the options bar after the lock. In your case, Protect Transparency is probably ticked
-
For me, the error behaviour is not triggered either.
In the meantime, while you are waiting for the result of the crash report check, you could already check a few things. Is Windows up to date?
If not, please update. If yes, let's check now if there are problems with system files.
Press Windows key + R and enter sfc /scannow in the input field. Hold Shift and CTRL and press Enter.
-
In Designer, go to Preferences -> General and set Clipboard -> Copy Elements as SVG.

@Crom Hello and welcome to the Forum.
Can you provide a crash report? To do so. Press Windows key + R. Write %appdata%\affinity\photo\1.0\crashreports\reports in to the input field and click OK button.
If there is more than one .dmp file, the file with the latest timestamp will be fine. Also the log.txt can be helpful. You find them in the 1.0 folder.

I have set the height of the rectangle to 47 px and now it is completely displayed. Do not select the whole group! But the asset symbol looks smaler then before.
-
Very mysterious. Rectangles with an as yet undetermined aspect ratio are displayed cut off.
This is definitely something that support should take a look at.
-
Unusual, I would say. Could you provide us with the affected assets for cross-checking?
-
Update your Windows, update the system drivers, update the GPU drivers. But first of all provide us with informations describes here:

I don't see any difference when I deactivate the gaussian blur filter. With the filter deactivated, there are no anomalies in the PDF.
However, the developers should take a look at the unusual export behaviour when the filter is activated.
-
I advise you to update the Intel drivers. If this has already been done, we will check if there are corrupted system files.
This is how to do it;
Press Windows key + R. Enter sfc /scannow in the input field. Hold down Shift and CTRL and confirm with Enter or click OK. The scan may take some time.
-
Respect! Many thanks for the great work.

You have to rename the whole folder WIC64 to whatever you want (e. g. WIC64_bad).
-
Bugs in borderless printing are known and have already been reported to the developers.

You all forget that image files are kept uncompressed in memory when they are loaded. And then a file can quickly take up several times as much memory.
If you are using a system that does not have a dedicated graphics card, you must remember that the graphics unit can be allocated up to 50% of the RAM. For example, with 8 GB RAM, most manufacturers reserve up to 2 GB RAM for the iGPU. Then comes Windows. The operating system treats itself to as much memory as possible. This may leave only 3.5 to 4 GB for background processes and programmes. For larger projects, there is discreetly little memory left over.

I don't like to judge if it is a bug in Affinity Photo or if the drivers of the printers are responsible. Because as you can see in the comparison of our pictures, the colour fringes are in different places. But maybe it's because I don't have the font used in the document and substitute font are used.
Edit: OK, I replaced Arial with PaytoneOne an d printed again. And here the result is clearly different (than expected).

@walt.farrell You are right.
I am confused. When I tested it, it only worked as I described.
Well, it is what it is. I take it all back and say the opposite. 😛

Why don't you buy a cheaper graphics tablet? If I speak about a tablet, I don't mean a iOS or Android device.
