Ah, good to know. My level of knowledge was different.

Opens sfc in administrator mode.

This is not a bug! It is by design. This should be a feature request.

@DanIsDTM Try to use the NVIDIA Studio driver instead the Game Ready driver.
-
@ashf He cannot use a beta because it was purchased from the Windows Store.
@DanIsDTM If Designer crashes there must be crashreports! Please press Windows key + R. Type %appdata%\affinity\Designer\1.0 (store)\crashreports\reports and click OK.
Attach the .dmp file with latest timestamp to your next posting here. Also the log.txt, you can find in ...\1.0 (store} folder will be fine.
Be sure your system is'nt overclocked. What GPU driver is installed? The game ready or the studio driver?

Hello @3beanspls welcome to the forums.
I suspect that you have missing or corrupted system files.
To check and possibly repair them, press Windows key + R. Type sfc /scannow in the input field. Hold Shift+CTRL and click OK.

Hello @Altom, welcome to the forums.
This is a known bug und pushed to the devs.

What if you protect the base layer from changes (the little lock next to the gear)?
-
Thanks for this nice little helper.

If you click on the text style tab you can open the "hamburger menu" right-hand. Then you'll be able to untick "Show examples".
-
@AndreaLBe sure that the Intel and NVIDIA driver are up-to-date. If they are not, there is a 50/50 chance that hardware acceleration will work for you after the drivers are updatet.
I am not that familiar with the Surface devices. Maybe the hardware acceleration works with the GTX 1650 when the Intel GPU is switched off in the BIOS/UEFI .

Hi all. The Crashreports are under ...\crashreports\reports. There must be one or more .dmp files if an Affinity programme crash. If there are dump files, the one with the latest timestamp will be fine. And also the log.txt found in the ...\1.0 folder will be interesting.

Hello @xinghe
Does Designer exit immediately after you click on the "text style" tab or only after clicking on a style?
If you can select the tab without Designer closing, then you can look via the "Hamburger menu" (the 3 bars) to see if "Show examples" is ticked.
If it is then untick it. If it's not, then try to deactivate hardware acceleration under Edit --> Preferences --> Performance.

Hello @AndreaL, welcome to the forum.
Hardware acceleration is a new feature introduced with version 1.9. As the development team could not test all combinations of processors and graphics cards, it is the case that one combination works and another does not.
Please state the hardware specifications of your PC/laptop here. This information can help to better implement the hardware acceleration.
-
Hello @Amanda M, welcome to the forum.
Deactivating hardware acceleration in Affinity Photo should solve your problem. You can find this under Preferences --> Performance.
-
@Martin Lanza turning off hardware acceleration has solved your problem.
I advise you to set auto save to a moderate value, e.g. 10 minutes. This will at least prevent you from losing a large part of your work.
-
Yes, but as far as I have seen, not all styles are available. And the project seems to have fallen asleep!
-
I came across this by chance 🙃
-
There is a fork (libertinus) of Linux Libertine and Biolinum in which many bugs have been fixed.
-
You do not use the painting brush but the colour change brush.
-
Please deactivate the hardware acceleration in the preferences of the Designer and in Photo (if it works w/o hardware acceleration).
To be found here:Edit --> Preferences --> Performance
Is Windows up to date and also GPU and Wacom drivers?
-
Do you use a graphic tablet or a monitor with touch screen?
-
Hello @Juan José Cano, can you provide with infos about the hardware you use? If designer crash, there should be a crash report.
Press Windows key + R, copy or write %appdata%\affinity\designer\1.0\crashreports\reports and click OK or press enter.
In this folder should be one or more .dmp files. Attach the file with the latest timestamp to your next posting. And there is a log.txt in the 1.0 folder. This file can be interesting too.

OK, that changes the options. Unfortunately, I can't give you a tip on which pens are suitable for iPads.
However, the question should be answered here:https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/forum/43-affinity-on-ipad-questions/

File will not load: This file includes features from a later version of Affinity.

Hello @drswoboda and welcome to the forums.
Your Windows version is EOL so I recomment to update to the latest version. Also updating all drivers (system and graphic card) is recommended.
